Spider Rock area / Canyon De Chelly – This spire towers 750 feet above the canyon floor. It is thought by the Diné (Navajo) that spider woman lived on top of this spire. I asked the Navajo if she could spin a web – any size – and could catch thieves just like flies.
Likely not.
Disappointing.
I want to go there. Good luck with Spider Woman.

Visited there in the 70's. Need to do it again!

There are a lot of such places in the Southwest. In this case, it's located in the Indian Nations. And after the nuclear testing that went on in the 1960's, who am I to say that you WOULDN'T be bitten by a radioactive spider?

Spider Woman Rock is memorable site in a land of memorable sites.
I hope you took the tour into Canyon De Chelly to visit the cliff dwellings.
My time there did not permit that experience.
Great scenery.
Is this fairly close to the WWM?
It's a two hour drive.
Beautiful locale. Beware of Spider Woman. Wasp Woman, her sister-in-law, is a real biotch, too I hear
