I think that it’s clear that there won’t be a Trump/Rubio ticket. Cruz/Rubio presents possibilities. Conservative Cruz and Rubio, as the darling of the elites? But I doubt it. If Little Marco can’t bring in his own state of Florida, his value is very small (though he did win Puerto Rico yesterday).
Many feel that Katich’s fall-back strategy is a partnership with Trump.  The latest Quinnipiac poll shows Trump +5 over Kasich in his home state of Ohio.

Working for Uncle Sam is never as easy as you’d think. The article cited below underscores problems that have been growing in the Navy’s Special Warfare Community and more particularly within the SEAL Teams. Even as Barack and friends tout the fact that they can send “special operators” here or there to deal with acute problems, there are not enough rifles or ammunition to go around.

(Fox News) Navy SEAL teams don’t have enough combat rifles to go around, even as these highly trained forces are relied on more than ever to carry out counterterrorism operations and other secretive missions, according to SEALs who have confided in Rep. Duncan Hunter, R-Calif.

If you read through the article, there is also the problem with the government bureaucracy being able to pay approved expenses run up on credit cards that operators take with them into the field. It’s not a new problem to anyone with experience in how things are done. The training demands of SEALs require that a vast amount of ammunition is expended in that endless cycle (and grind) of deploy – return and train – deploy. That the country can’t provide enough ammo to see to those needs is telling.

The tempo of near constant warfare over the past sixteen years and the layers of bureaucracy between the top and bottom is starting to show wear where the tip of the spear meets the belly of the enemy.

Over the years a number of SEAL’s (such as the men killed at Benghazi) have left the military for other careers because the pay is better, or because the bureaucracy was choking them. The sort of stress brought about by not enough rifles that would cause them to complain to their congressman is another brick in the wall.

  1. Christie is Trump's veep. Take that to the bank.

Our military was sucking bad during the incompetent Carter administration and was beefed up by his competent successor.

Our current military is sucking bad during this incompetent administration and will be beefed up by the competent successor (probably Trump).

  2. Not enough rifles? That sounds like a U.K. scenario… I guess it's universal. Trump/Kasich, Trump/Christie?

  3. It's inexcusable. The bureaucracy should be able to provide for a rifle for each of the 2700 SEALs who are currently serving.

  4. The words "ammo shortage" are words that could make my husband choke… and yes, I spelled it properly 😉

  5. There were reports of the Social Security Administration buying millions of rounds of ammo earlier in the ObamaNation, but this is something quite different and it's not a shortage in absolute terms. The Navy is simply unable to supply sufficient ammunition due to GROSS INCOMPETENCE somewhere in the bureaucracy.

  6. When service members have to go to their congressman for help in getting rifles, we're in a lot worse trouble than we thought we were in.

  7. Kasich is just like Jindle, Walker, etc., stay where you are please – it is more important to have good Governors. I guess that applies to Christie – he is definitely the lesser of two evils in Jersey…

  8. Come on LL, just have the SEALs call BLM, they have all they need and probably extra, ammo and rifles.

  9. O/T This just in:

    Idaho GOP: Dan Jones (2/17-26/16)
    Trump 30
    Cruz 19
    Rubio 16
    Kasich 5

    But, but, I'm hungry

  10. That s**t with travel claims and .gov cards goes back to the 80s at least… I got burned on that because of an asshole in personnel who disapproved the hotel rate I was stuck with…

  11. REMFs rule because their asses don't get killed when they @#$% up. Instead, they get promoted.

  12. I'm betting on Trump/Christie.

Isn't that the goal of our Community Organizer in Chief, to take away guns from the people? It looks like he's starting taking away guns from SEALs to protect his terrorist lackeys in the Mideast.

  13. I know of a number of people who were burned that way. I used a float on my own card and ate the interest. A long time ago you could write off credit card interest expense. It kept my clearance intact and I wasn't damaged. But it was expensive.

  14. And they persecute the warriors because the bureaucracy rewards that sort of craven, cur-like behavior.

  15. I'm not convinced that Trump will pick Christie. It doesn't make conventional political sense, though, so you may be onto something.
