Meme-of-the-Day (h/t Frank)

The Republicans (unfortunately) are just as much part of the Swamp as the democrats.  One uses a donkey and the other an elephant but they both bleed green. Waiting for the Republicans to become American patriots en masse means you’ll resemble the meme. There are stand-outs who are not sell-outs, but they’re a token, left in place to lull us into a false sense of hope.

 

The Long March

The “Long March through the Institutions” was a phrase attributed to the Italian communist Antonio Gramsci (1891-1937) and then coined as a succinct mission statement by Marxist student activist Rudi Dutschke in the 1960s.

The phrase is used to describe the intellectual takeover of a society without the need to resort to a military conflict. Instead, the strategy focuses on slowly winning over the chief institutions that determine the direction of culture and thereby creating a soft revolution from within those institutions. So, the focus was on the universities, then the unions, the arts, the K-12 schools, the media, then corporations, and finally the society as a whole.

In his latest article, he asserts that the American economic situation is “remarkably strong” and yet “the public remains very negative on the economy.”

  1. The lead picture could have been taken at/near my place. We have plenty of feral hogs in Central Texas although the population was dented pretty good in a single digit weather event of February 021. They are making a come back and just as destructive as ever. Dispatch one, the rest of the passel takes care of the carcass and seems like three show up to replace it.

    Reserve bank of Australia (Fed equivalent) announced yesterday that their forecasts of 2% job growth in April was a 2% loss.

    The idiotic statement (to me) that there are too many people employed also makes no sense. They said 4% unemployment was their aim. I can remember the early 1970’s and 0 unemployed

    1. No, none of the economists know what they are doing. Well, very few, and it’s still mostly best practices and educated guesses.

      It’s like Psychology and the other soft sciences; mostly a scam to get six-figure salaries while recklessly expounding out one’s ass.

      The current crop of economists appear to be engaging in deliberate sabotage, just like the Politician Scum. … and the Press Scum, and all the Scum.
