I’ve heard it’s a hoax.

I’ve heard that the oil companies bought up the rights.
If you look at the August issue of POPULAR MECHANICS, you’ll see that Estes Model Rocket Company has developed a hydrogen fuel rocket. The toy uses electrolysis to separate hydrogen from H2O and then ignites it. It’s something that people have been saying is too expensive and it’s sold as a $50.00 toy.
However the news media ran this piece and the reporters didn’t think it was a scam:
