White Privilege
The claim that there is “White Privilege” in this nation is the claim that housing, shopping, food, and so on are granted to Whites and denied by law to Blacks, so that if a colored man enters a “Whites Only” restaurant, he is breaking protocol, and will be reprimanded.
The absurdity of the claim is its camouflage. No one actually believes Jim Crow laws are still in force in any jurisdiction, any more than Blue Laws still forbid sabbath-breaking in New England.
The fact that in any nation, a minority group suffers disadvantage if it provokes the majority, could, perhaps, be regarded as an advantage. It is good fortune to be in the dominant group in your land. On the other hand, unless deliberate policy is restricting minority growth numbers (such as, say, over-representation of Planned Parenthood death mills in minority neighborhoods), this good fortune is not a privilege, unless we wish to say that blind nature or high heaven plays favorites, and showers happy luck on right and pious men alone. See the Book of Job for details.
Privilege, properly so called, is a grant or grace bestowed by a power, be it a single monarch or democratic consensus, singling out a favored man or group. Legal privileges are enforced at law, as in the old days when only nobles could bear arms; and customary privileges are upheld by custom, as in the old days when it was expected for a gent to yield his seat on a bus to a lady. Being born Italian in an Italian neighborhood is neither.
For the record, if your ancestors were illiterate savage tribesmen, whose descendants have lived among heirs to a four-thousand-year-old civilization for less than two hundred years, entering an art history museum expecting to find statues carved by Greeks that look like Eskimos or Irishmen or Indochinese is madness. The fact that Cleopatra was not a negress is not racism, nor will painting her statues black cure racism. Who your ancestors are or what they did is not a privilege, because no law nor custom decides who is born to whom.

What is called White privilege in this country, is simply following the rules. Rules developed through trial and error with a heavy dose of Divine Instruction. The things we used to call being civilized.
Follow the rules and you have a decent chance to prosper. Don’t follow them and you’ll generally fail.
Our idiots in charge believe that their ‘enlightened’ opinions supersedes all previous knowledge. Knowledge developed over millennia by literally millions of people. Their ways have caused breakdowns in all parts of society, but of course this is our fault, because we won’t let go of the old ways (that work). Doing what worked in the past and has always worked, those old ways are White privilege.

Surly nailed it. The USAF selected the Harris tail dragger/cropduster design AT-802U Sky Warden for their Armed Overwatch program. The SOMA – MC-145B still flies for JSOC but Sierra Nevada didn’t win the Armed Overwatch money. As a result, I have no idea what the current production line looks like (if any).

Like most if not all Dem run cities, Denver has embraced The Diversity Multicultural Slum, simply because it garners more votes to override 85% of the state’s conservative voting public. Was up in Pinedale (Wy) for the past week and a half, Cali plates get “the look” while Lander has been invaded by The Rainbow Unwashed, invited in and tolerated due to Lefty officials ruining the place. Pinedale is still a ranching community…the difference is palpable.
Interesting contrast between Denver and neighboring Aurora in dealing with the homeless. Aurora’s mayor once spent a month living as a homeless person.
Worth a thought? Few tent encampments in Denver are far from the city bus routes.

So I incur extra privilege due to having a blood type AB+? I believe privilege is looking around, deciding what the dominate culture is, adapting to it’s tenets and work with in the system, even gaming it slightly to take advantage and succeed, go to school to learn a trade, college if you aspire to sit in boardrooms. I looked around, and saw a need, it meshed into my then existing skill and education level and actually succeed with hard work and hard studying. To further my skills and abilities and opportunities in nursing and behavioral therapies, I sucked it up and attended a very liberal, but a good college(Portland State) to attain those degrees that would offer me that want I wanted. I call that privilege, privilege of persistence and hard, steady determination.

Extra privilege? No. But you should check your eyes for slantiness: the Chinese have the highest population prevalence of AB blood type. (It’s still rare, but higher amongst chinamen than most other groups).

Thought I spotted an AIM-9 Sidewinder, too.
They can mount and fire AIM-9s in self-defense from an AAW threat. And when you think. about rotors and small SPECOPS airships having Sidewinders available, it’s a game changer.

Don’t think I’m that rare – must have a trace of Rh. For decades the blood banks would call me. What I was told was my blood could be given to people with rare types when nothing else was available. Health problems later in life makes me unsuitable for donations.

Interesting; language other than English spoken at home.
I can only speak to the ’40s growing up in the Bronx, but not one of my friends/grade-school classmates spoke anything but English at home. Mostly their parents came (prior to WWII) from all over Eastern Europe, Italy, and Germany; they had applied for entry and waited for acceptance into the United States; they studied hard and took the exam to become US citizens as quickly as possible; they left the Old Country behind erasing most vestiges of it as rapidly as possible; they were now Americans and Americans spoke English; very heavily accented, perhaps, but English, sometimes with the admixture of an Old Country word when they couldn’t find the right word in English.
They were proud to be Americans and proud to speak “American” English – back in the day when it meant something to be an American, when citizenship was something earned, not given away.
I’m an A + blood type. I find it very easy to remember because it’s the only thing I’ve ever got an A plus for in my life. Apparently they don’t give out awards for snarky bloggers with tripolar issues.

AB+ can accept blood from anyone. O-neg is the universal donor. (There’s apparently all manner of blood-group subtleties that I either never learned or don’t remember, but that’s the basics.)
