  1. Thank you very kindly to everyone who has expressed prayers and good wishes for my recovery. Your kindness is very much appreciated.

It has been a very cold winter in Sydney this year. Colder than usual and, unseasonably, the cold has been accompanied by strong winds. Luckily, these conditions have not been accompanied by rain. It appears, with my living in the warmth of Thailand for most of the year, together with my low immunity from the medication I am on for a pre-existing condition, that my body was not able to cope with this and decided to play up. Old age, apparently, also had something to do with it. Whilst my mind might tell me I am still twenty one, it appears my body begs to differ.

Having been sick as a dog for several weeks I am now back on my feet and getting about, albeit not as sprightly as before, although I guess this will come with time. The residual tiredness, listlessness, and lethargy seem to have gone, thankfully. It will be sometime before I will be able to consider running the marathon in the next Olympics though. My wife and I will be returning to Thailand, in a couple of weeks, so I will soon be back in the sun and the warmth and this should be a great help.

I would like to take this opportunity to publicly express my sincere thanks to the two people, our blog host Larry Lambert and Ms Jules Smith, who assisted me in getting my book to market. Without them it would not have seen the light of day.

To Larry I would like to say a very very big thank you. I have never written a book before, and this one wouldn’t have come about except for your encouragement, both to write it in the first place and throughout the writing process, and your excellent, painstaking, editing. Likewise, for your efforts in publishing it whilst I was incommunicado. Thank you so very very much for your help, guidance, and perseverance throughout the writing process, and for your friendship through the years.

To Jules I would like to say a very very big heartfelt thank you, for the hard work you put in to design the selection of covers you did. I liked them all and thought they were all very very good. Great minds must think alike though, as I also picked out the same cover as Larry did, as my first choice. I also especially liked two others, which would have been my alternative choices. That you took the time from your busy schedule, to help me, an unknown, and your expertise and effort is very gratefully appreciated. Likewise, your very kind words regarding the book itself. Hopefully, others might read it and think the same.

I would also like to say a big thank you, to all of you who commented so positively on the small pieces Larry so graciously allowed me to post on the blog earlier. These were an encouragement to me to keep going.

    Thank you.

      1. Likewise…”real” is needed at this time. Soon Mike’s book will be on the nightstand (slogging thru a couple of others). And prayers for a continued “recovery”…sun is a great healing assist.

    1. I’m most of the way through your book and find it to be a fascinating read. Thanks for writing it.

    2. Congratulations on the book Mike! Keep getting some well needed rest with the Mrs. Ms. Hogsbreath and I are praying for you brother. Could you possibly send me a signed copy someday? In the meantime what/where can I get a copy of you’re book?

      -STA healthy brother

      1. HogsbreathSS. Thank you for your well wishes. I would be more than happy to sign one for you. To answer your question of what/where. Sorry, I don’t know. Perhaps your question might be better put to Larry who, I am sure, would have the answer.

      2. Amazon has it in stock… Hunting in the shadows, Borneo and South Vietnam. Book is absolutely excellent.

Mike W… get stronger and healthier… enjoy the food in Thailand.

        1. Thank you kindly, both for your comment regarding the book and for your wishes regarding my health. The warm weather and food should certainly pick me up.

          1. MikeW has had a distinguished career beyond that outlined in the book. The memoirs need to continue with more volumes. Up to MikeW, but I’d like to work with him on THEM.

  2. I’ve used up plenty of allowable spout-age over the past few days…but because I’m ‘me’…will say….Christopher ‘Not Robbins’ Wray flat out denying there was a 25 agent “raid” on Mark Houck’s house at o’dark, with weapons drawn, saying “they politely knocked” and “followed proper procedure”…proves The Sewer is deeper and is so full of s–t that I about fell off the tractor while out mowing pasture. Pretty sure my neighbor half a mile away heard me ask God for a well placed meteor and peel off DC into the Potomac (yeah, a broken record, but it would be an appropriate smiting).

Add to that Maxine Waters threatening “that every private company will comply” with this fabricated “ESG to fight climate change” crap. Man plans, God laughs…He’s not exactly laughing. Hey Maxine – you piece of garbage – fly to Vermont and ask how important ESG is for the flood victims, you mindless neanderthal.

Okay…I’m good now…spleen well vented…and the coffee is the right elixir on a perfect Colorado morning.

    1. Let me know when the GOP leadership wants something more than sound bites for campaign fund raising.

      1. When I’m sitting on the tractor and find myself listening to a bit of Beck or other, then catch the news push narrative, or – gag- The Five (just to see if anything changed…nope, same-o BS)…my RH fingers involuntarily open and close like a fish mouth sucking air…because it’s all useless blather.

The moral outrage was on full display, and rightly so. But nothing will come of it from a neutered group of useless people who get paid to sling crap back and forth. Nothing but blah, blah, blah…while the self-appointed Poobah’s criminally and openly defy their Oath, The Constitution, The Rule of Law, Separation of Powers, FOIA requests…the whole nine yards.

But hey!…That’s done…new day…Fuhgeddaboudit…onto the next hearing where half of them will lie through their cocaine stained propaganda.

Nothing has changed, and it won’t…they’ll see to that.

        1. If we actually had an FBI, Maxine Waters would have been in prison long ago.

  3. An insignificant rant about a trivial problem.
Why can’t drivers learn the four simple rules dealing with 4 way stop intersections? Worse, those “kind” drivers who wave you ahead of them. Do you really think I’m going to make a left hand turn in front of you because you fluttered your fingers?
Am I the only one who looks both ways in a traffic circle? At a one way street?

      1. Nobody knows how to merge, anymore.

… and that’s just the people who are trying to drive properly, not the large minority (around here, in the urbs anyway) who drive like it’s the 3rd World.

        -Kle.

        1. Not knowing how to merge – I also try to imagine what these drivers would do on the old highway system…one lane each way and NOT divided…trying to pass a slow moving vehicle while judging the distances and speed of oncoming traffic.

    1. I especially like it when there’s multiple lanes of traffic and the guy in the leftmost lane stops and tries to wave you into making your left turn. It’s extra special when you can’t see what’s happening in the other lanes.

BTW that sort of stupid is a Boston specialty. Similarly, drivers will speed through crosswalks, but slam on the brakes if some jackass still on the curb looks like he’s even thinking of jaywalking.

  4. Let us pause to remember Charlotte Corday. Jean-paul Marat should have gone in to work that day.

    1. Hahaha. Marat’s demise is an example of why “working from home” (especially the bathtub) is not necessarily a good idea.

    2. Yeah and John Bobbitt hould have never slept with Lorena again. And it’s a line drive down third Base line!!!
      Ouch!

      1. Not giving him a pass on his behavior, but the rule “Never date (or marry) crazy” is part of the Darwin Awards Top Ten Close Calls.

        1. If people never “dated crazy”, Vice President Kamala Harris would be a maid at Motel 6 in the Tenderloin.

          1. Now that’s a great visual…can we make that happen? Maybe too late, but I contend most of Congress and at least 25% of the GP would be the first to die off during the initial phase of the Zombie Apocalypse. There is that to hang one’s angst hat on.

  5. Does anyone else find it perplexing that the house oversight committee was able to pinpoint the number 50 locker which the cocaine was found in however the keys to that locker are mysteriously missing? That must have been some kind of briefing they got from the secret service. Grab your popcorn this is just starting to get good. Lmfao!

  6. Me? I’m not very happy with the Left endorsing child sex-slavery.

As in, maybe if we pretend it isn’t there it’ll disappear, Nazi.

    1. If the Left didn’t endorse child sex slavery, Epstein would have been managing the Motel 6 in the Tenderloin where Vice President Harris was a maid (see above).

  7. Adding to the pig pile…(and here I had planned to dive into another Swagger book but decided to “check in”. Big mistake)

The Dems screamed for years that PDJT was going to get us into wars, yet we had calm waters and velvet hammer diplomacy under his Presidency.

Well, well, what do we have here?

Earlier today Joe Biden signed an order activating 3,000 reserve troops to be ready for deployment as part of Operation Atlantic Resolve. Brings the troop total “over there” to over 100,000. Yeah nothing to see here.

“Signed an order…”. Excuse me…but how the hell does this muppet have any authority to do this while justifying his scumbag action as good. Nord Stream was this clowns doing, now expanding troops “over there”, after sending cluster bombs to The Ukraine Hoodie Juvenile (what is with grown men wearing hoodies in place of professional attire?). And where the hell is Congress?

We’re doomed under these morons and imbeciles.

      1. Sorry Ed, giving them no quarter as these idiots accelerate on the way down to the abyss, further distancing themselves from God and The Constitution.

I do hate this with a passion. The Founders are spinning RPM’s in their graves.

        1. How can we have a Third World War if we don’t have troops poised to “defend” us from the Russian menace? I’m just saying that it wouldn’t be much of a war.

          1. They can blind them into oxygen starved hilarity with their Periwinkle Rainbow Outfits and Feather dusters.
