A Funny thing happened on the way to Utopia (American Thinker)

Disney is simply one offensive on the entertainment front of the culture war. BlackRock seeks to make it impossible to be employed without bowing to the DEI idol. The lords of higher education require you to indenture your future earnings for the doubtful benefit of a fill-in-the-aggrieved-minority-here studies degree. And the monolithic media is tasked with making sure everyone parrots the same litany, with no dissent allowed.

The entire strategy of the Left infiltrating institutions is to herd the rest of us into a socialist utopia. The stagnation and fall of the Soviet Union finally woke the arrogant intelligentsia up to the fact that the masses weren’t going to buy their snake oil willingly. We’re just too ignorant and selfish to know what’s best for us. An attitude that squares nicely with their natural inclination to meddle in the lives of others anyway. So, the long march through the institutions was embarked upon. If we wouldn’t stride down the primrose path to utopia, they’d drive us there like cattle instead…read the whole article.

Bullet Points:

** The War on Air Conditioning – we’ll see how far gets. Will they shut down the AC in the White House, Executive Office Building, and Pentagon as an example to all? Then turn off the heat in the winter.

** Was the White House intended to be a nursing home? Asking for a friend.

** State Rep. Mesha Mainor won her election as a Democrat in 2020 to serve the people of Georgia’s General Assembly District 56. But a Republican will now represent the solidly blue Atlanta House district.

On Tuesday, Mainor made headlines when she announced she was leaving the Georgia Democratic Party “establishment” due to her support for school choice programs in the state.

“It doesn’t matter what part of my district that people are in, parents are asking for choices,” Mainor said in an interview with Fox News’s Sean Hannity.

“Right now, there [are] schools that only 3% of children are meeting proficiency. That’s not acceptable,” Mainor says. “The option that the Democrats are giving is ‘Keep them there until we fix it. We’ll get it better soon.’ But it’s been like that for 50 years.”

**.Jim Caviezel, star of the movie “Sound of Freedom,” made striking remarks about media backlash toward the film in a recent interview with the movie studio’s CEO.

“At least they broke their silence. It means they can’t ignore this issue; they cannot ignore it,” the actor said, as reported by Breitbart. “They’re scared. Quaking in their boots. And it’s because the public is listening to their hearts, which is what this film tells you to do.”

** The Vice President explains AI – When you made your living as a whore, you’re not expected to know much beyond those skill sets that advanced your career. Kamela doesn’t disappoint.

** Crypto vs the SEC – The fat kid screwed the industry.

** Tucker Carlson may spark fireworks today as he goes head to head with presidential nominees live on stage at the FAMiLY Leadership Summit in Des Moines, Iowa. Fox thought that they ended him… an overly ambitious move by Fox.

** The feeling of being exploited has reached pandemic proportions in the USA.  Vast numbers of people believe they are exploited by the police, by white people, by Christians, by “the system,” by men, by Wall Street, by the U.S.A., and by corporations, etc., etc. There has been a significant cultural shift away from seeing America as the distinctive land of opportunity in a corrupt, poverty-stricken, and cruelly corrupt world to seeing the U.S.A. as itself the leader of this world’s corruption and as the instigator of the world’s major problems. Looking at our leader, Pedo Joe, the infinitely corrupt leader of the Biden Family IS persuasive.

** Soft Secession – Soft secession has some advantages of telling bureaucrats in Washington, DC, that you care about your own power and control. We, the citizens of the soft seceding state(s), choose to be the adults in the room to solve the problem(s) shared with one or more border states through a compact administered by mutual consent. Any tax dollars spent through the compact are from each consenting state. Legislation, rulemaking, and compact commission composition are decided through the approvals of each state’s legislature, regulatory agencies, and political leaders. Each compact is a choice by the state(s) to ignore the plethora of nitpicking and useless federal edicts.

** The most highly compensated White House Biden staffer? The top paid is Demetre C. Daskalakis ($260,718), Deputy Coordinator for the Monkeypox Response.

Will they ward off Surly?

  1. Identify the Aircraft:
    1. Bristol F.2 (don’t think this is correct as engine isn’t the same but need coffee!).
    2. Ryan FR Fireball
    3. Royal Aircraft Factory R.E.8

          1. Geez…I now am complete in feeling like an idiot, without the savant part…Surly and few others own that prestigious title.

    1. About as succinct one could get to encapsulate the current bad state of the union. They want us as slaves while decrying ancient slavery and slave owners.

      1. EdB, you can’t be misrepresented. You’re a Ukrainian-American, which means that you should be getting reparations. Big reparations. What will you do with it all besides buying a mansion and a yacht?

          1. Then I have nothing to lose when they breach 2 sets of gates and come for my Constitutionally protected Free Speech & Dissent of their crap.

        1. Reparations? Near as I can tell, the “proper role” of Ukrainians is to die in job lots for the cross-generational and transnational vendetta of a tiny bunch of horrible people who inexplicably* hold tremendous power in both the US and in Ukraine. Ancillary roles in this totally manufactured and provoked crisis are to be sex-trafficked** (what wonderful cover a multimillion person refugee crisis makes) and doubtless other atrocities.

          * no, it’s not inexplicable in an operational sense: admittedly high IQ combined with (cultural) neuroprogramming that the most egregious pseudo-religious cult would envy, and the resultant laser focus and vermin-like rapacity explain most of it. It’s inexplicable from a moral standpoint.
** the outrage, gaslighting and panic of Our Betters over Sound of Freedom is highly instructive. I don’t know for sure, but will guess that if a child from Haiti or Guatemala goes for X dollars, a blue-eyed blonde child from UKR will fetch some multiple of X ranging from 2 to 10-fold. (Even sex trafficking scum be rayciss.)

          1. Brings to mind the movie Taken…Epstein’s List has either been destroyed to protect the scumbag evil elites, or is being kept by our DOJ as leverage.

Jim Caviezel is courageous…as many of us would be if given the opportunity to excise this cancer on humanity. Years back we sent some money to Project Child Save, Ty Ritter’s outfit. Defunct now but there are other organizations out there doing the dirty work. (LL’s wheelhouse)

  2. and the highest paid guy, paid to handle monkeypox, refuses to tell gays they should refrain from anonymous orgies during the outbreak as their “joy” is more important than halting the spread. getting our money’s worth there….thank the fat kid. were it not for him we would already be cashless……caviezel is giving them hell. keep it rolling….i’m pretty sure the coke was kamalas, judging by her interviews….the geezer in chief activated reservists and even ready reserve to go to “european theatre”. glad i’m out. just when nato refusing ukraine membership gave me hope for a non-glowing retirement. may putin’s missiles be accurate, and well targeted, and the wind out of the southwest.

    1. Of course the good Doctor Daskalakis isn’t going to tell homosexuals to not fornicate randomly.

That’s the least objectionable link to an image of DD’s not-so-private life.

Man, I used to be supportive of “gay marriage” and have a “well, everyone deserves to have their private life” attitude but over the last few years my tolerance, patience, and sympathy have been abraded away to nothing.

(Actually I was never for gay marriage as such. I thought EVERYONE should have civil unions for legal and tax purposes. The State had no business with weddings. If you wanted a wedding, that was between you, your mate, and your church, folk, or what have you. That was libertarian-ish me 20 years ago. Increasingly I now feel that the State must not only mechanistically serve the people, but also reflect the values, morals, and heritage of the people. Which is of course an anti-diversity position.)

      1. Agreed. Yet the state can’t help regulate life as we know it. Dad used to say “If politicians could figure out how to tax the air, they will.” Said that in the 80’s.

      2. Kinky Friedman once said that he was all for gay marriage because he felt like gays should have the right to be just as miserable as the rest of us.

  3. On the heels of Heels Up Veep’s brilliance…

VM is two letters. It’s actually two words. It means Virtual Mirage. It’s a machine that learns from it’s programmer. We should not go against VM.

Is this woman that stupid or is she getting paid to be this stupid? No one can be this stupid. I’ve never met anyone this stupid or inarticulate. Then again, Harris did “become” Cali’s AG for six years…not a good commentary on the state.

AT Article- This: “Woke Virus”. Exactly.

Time to lockdown the Left and The Democrat’s. Tell them it’s “2 years to flatten their crap”.

    We’re past here:

“But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future security.”

    1. All Harris has had to do all her life was spread her legs. Now people are asking her to bark like a trained seal (not SEAL) and she’s incapable. But she IS a heartbeat away from the presidency, which should give whores everywhere a measure of hope for a career beyond “prostitute” or “escort” – when they’ve aged themselves out of their profession – Kamala is leading the way, breaking the glass ceiling.

Not unlike Mooch/Big Mike Obama – from disbarred black, tranny lawyer to presidential aspirant. It should give that aggrieved class hope for a brighter future.

      1. That Turkish proverb: ‘When a clown moves into a palace, he doesn’t become a king. The palace becomes a circus.”

With the current Occupier we’re already hanging out in the Circus Main Ring with a pedophile brain-dead fool wandering around the Oval Office shaking air hands with the portraits of his predecessors, no camera’s on to avoid wrecking Hunter’s plea deal with additional Locker 50 discoveries.

Rethinking Harris could be playing the dismissed fool until Pedo’s handler’s decide he’s out, she will then sign anything and everything set in front of her and will operate to further weaken America. Effectively she may be a more compliant puppet…under the guise of “The First Black Asian-American Woman VP”.

        1. Kamala embodies so many “firsts”. But don’t forget Doug Emhoff. As “Second Gentleman” he’s also a “first”. His danged Wiki page is all about that.

          1. He lost his man-card moons ago.

Obviously I don’t know the man, or her for that matter. Yet everything I observe says Elite Morons with no sense of shame and getting paid way too much for what micron’s they bring to the table. In fact, everything they spout is destructive to society as God intended.

          2. There was no Star Trek experience for Emhoff. He definitely didn’t go where no man had gone before. One could excuse him if he “re-bushed” the unit by sticking in a picnic ham…then withdrawing the 🍖 bone.

          3. You’d think whores would make perfect politician, since there is so little discernible difference.

Doesn’t always work out that way, though.

            -Kle.

  4. Jim Caviezel’s movie. We went to see it last night. Excellent and I recommend it to all, especially the brain dead leftists who refuse to acknowledge the truth!

He along with James Woods are two (but unfortunately few) Hollywood elite who deserve to be listened to.

    1. Add Jon Voight to the small list of Hollywood Patriots. I spoke with his god-son the other day – a neighbor of mine – the other neighbor with a helicopter. Voight is a decent, God-fearing man, who stands up for what’s right.

The left is howling about The Sound of Freedom. There are still free voices and they resonate with Americans.

        1. Surprisingly, Tim Allen also is a right winger. They killed his show “Last Man Standing” because he was against Biden and for Trump and an anti-Covider.

  5. The War on Air Conditioning is a pet peeve of mine. I first heard of it coming out of Europeans and northern Europeans to boot.

Newsflash: take a globe and compare latitudes of Europe and the US. The northern latitudes in the lower 48 are the southern latitudes in Europe. My latitude is the about the southern tip of the Sinai peninsula.

Does anyone think that the Europeans would be complaining about A/C if they were meeting at the southern tip of the Sinai instead of Davos?

The earliest things I saw written about air conditioning, in 1917 Electrical Experimenter magazines, were saying why is it reasonable to heat our homes in the winter and not cool them if it’s possible? I don’t think a technologically advanced civilization could exist without it. Which could well be their goal.

    1. Yep. Fnd a place that’s ‘balls hot’ in Europe and that place is still north of most of the US.

I constantly get into keyboard arguments on another blog with some dingbat from Sweden, who thinks we should get rid of AC, live 15 minutes or less from our work and schools and everything else, get rid of our cars, ride trains yada yada yada.

I nicely point out to him that in Florida, from Key West to Jacksonville is over 12 hours driving time at 75 freedom units per hour, and 16 fu/hr to Pensacola especially if you don’t have an electric vehicle (another thing the idiot loves.)

I really piss him off when I point out, correctly, that we don’t have random mobs of muzzies raping our children and we don’t have so many grenade attacks that the media won’t report them, you know, like in Sweden.

      He doesn’t like me much.

Geez, it’s Florida, we use the Sainted Willis of Carrier’s invention sometimes in winter (it’s Florida, where Christmas Day often is 85 degrees…)

      1. Sit on a plane in the Summer heat next to “one of those” who do not believe in deodorant or regular bathing and tell me A/C needs eliminating.

These morons – who have it good and are bored – should be transported back into the late 1800’s and made to stand in the middle of NYC street, midday in August, in wool, next to the prolific horse manure…oh, and no little bottles of “spring water”. Idiots.

      2. Offer this deal to Swedish Jackass: We Floridians will give up our aircon when you Swedes give up heating your houses in winter. (And I have a suspicion that the low-IQ, unassimilable dusky rapists infesting Sverige have their “free” heat cranked up so high they open their windows in winter. Meanwhile I have my place at 62-64 in the winter. I did splurge and crank it up to 67 when I was undergoing chemo, but that was special circumstances.)

        1. I have never, even when it was 19 degrees outside (yes, in Florida, winter of 1989, the highway froze over, the airport froze over, everything froze over, we lost power and we had a water bed) had the heat on in my house.

49 degrees inside? Eh, it’s snuggle time.

        1. Oh, but, see, if you’re in Sweden you don’t need a car because there’s trains and shit.

Seriously. That’s his response to everything, MOAR public transport, funded by the Government, of course.

      3. I absolutely support the absolute ban on A/C in Capital City and surrounding suburbs/exurbs, and all Federal office buildings everywhere. Also, Congress can meet only every other year, between the Summer Solstice and the Fall Equinox. Let them lead by example.

  6. I did read “read the whole article.” With my myopic, astigmatic vision (I could still grease a Cessna 150 on any landing strip any time day or night without spectacles with my instructor in the right seat as proof – I made sure his life insurance was paid up), I see a minor problem I hope others have noticed:
“Citizens are voting with their feet, loading up U-Hauls to flee California, Oregon, New York, and Illinois.”
These citizens, now fleeing their former residence and employment, but still unable to see what the embodiment of their beliefs hath wrought (wreaked), are for the greatest part dedicated Socialist-Progressives who continue to bring their leftist beliefs and attitudes (and votes, as if that matters any more) with them to deeply Conservative strongholds; I watched in horror as this was happening in upstate NY.
I see this clearly outlined on the map of the path leading to Utopia; does anyone else read the map the way I do or should I start wearing my spectacles 24/7?

  7. from the Heritage article:
“SEC Chairman Gary Gensler contemporaneously said: ‘We don’t need more digital currency. We already have digital currency. It’s called the U.S. dollar. It’s called [the] euro. It’s called the yen. They’re all digital right now.’”
Am I reading this correctly? Is a representative of the U.S. government, a U.s. government agency head admitting this to the public or have I been locked in a dark room ?

  8. O/T: forget Sound of Freedom. The pending live-action Snow White is the movie for me. Sorry about linking to The Daily Fail, but check out the Seven not-Dwarfs.

    https://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-12298801/amp/EXCLUSIVE-Snow-White-Seven-Politically-Correct-Companions.html

These aren’t the actual actors, but it apparently IS an official reshoot, and the seven Starbucks baristas are stand ins, so presumably those are the actual costumes. I really really am looking forward to Snow Latina and the Seven Filthy Hippies.

    What a mess.

    1. On one news site, I came down hard on some asshat who supported the vibrancification of fairy tales.

I told her, correctly, that all fairy tales are from Europe, mostly western Europe, so therefore the characters were white, whether hero, heroine, villain or villainese.

Grim fairy tales mostly came from the Germanic states.

Less grim, like “Beauty and the Beast” and “Snow White” (and her sister’s story, “Rose Red,” who’s lips and cheeks were rosy red and was gifted with the power of gems and gold coming from her mouth when she spoke,) came from France.

Even “East of the Sun, West of the Moon” came from Norway.

The dwarves in Snow White are miners. Medieval miners tended to be short but broad of stature due to being hunched over and doing all the mining by hand. Thus the ‘dwarves’ in Snow White are more like the dwarves in Tolkein than some genetic freak.

I then asked her and other people to quit appropriating my cultural heritage (German, French, some Norwegian, Scots, Irish, English)(yes, I am totally a product of western Europe) for their own personal use.

Her reply wasn’t very nice at all. For some strange reason.

And here I must admit, I like reading old-school fairy tales. They aren’t full of bullshit and garbage or freaky shit like the “Oz” books by Baum (man must have had some serious issues, really, go read them as an adult and you’ll think the guy was a whackjob) or other more modern children’s stories.

Best to get fairy tales published before 1900, maybe 1910, because the woke-scolds started rewriting the stories and taking the horrids out. (Original “Hansel and Gretel” had the two feckless, fat, greedy, insolent, nasty, grubby children getting eaten by the Witch, because that’s what happens to children who disobey their parents!)

  9. Great bullets and yes, the Sound of Freedom is awesome. Try and see it in a small, packed out country cinema.

On topic, it seems the Bolsheviks won here even as they lost in Russia. Strange twist of… providence?
