Luke
It’s a big month for grandsons in my family. My daughter, Heather delivered a healthy 8 lbs 6 oz boy (Luke) today and my daughter, Amanda, will be having a baby boy (by c-section) a week from today. It has all of the earmarks of a unique Christmas Season. Healthy babies are the best possible Christmas present for a grandpa.
I know that most of you are saying that I’m way too young to be a grandfather – and of course, I couldn’t agree more. But the plain truth is that when you have four healthy daughters and they get married to healthy men, your posterity stands a chance of growing.
It’s Heather’s second son and will be Amanda’s third son.
They boys are arriving at homes who love them and want them, to parents and grandparents who will definitely protect and likely spoil them.
So as days go, this was a very long — but a very nice day.  And Grandpa can’t wait for them to be old enough to go fishing, hunting and off-roading.

  1. Let's see, you had four girls, and now your girls are having all boys. What's up with that?
    Congratulations!

  2. It's the only thing of value that you leave behind. And if you've done a good job, they will bless the lives of others and pay it forward.

  3. Congrats! Same as you, I have four daughters – four grandkids so far. Just wait a few years. They're a lot more fun when they get older.

PS – my oldest grandson (14) shot his first turkey and his first buck this year. His dad is doing a good job bringing him up.

  4. Yes, but you always worry a bit about them, don't you? I'm glad that your daughter is home from the SandBox and that trust that her new career has legs. Let me know if I can help.
