No, I’m not shocked at all. Then again, while I have worked in concert with the FBI at times, the record will show that by in large, our relationship was acrimonious. A lot of that had to do with unethical conduct on the part of agents that was covered up by management.
On Monday, the FBI confirmed former Bureau Head James Comey personally drafted a statement exonerating Hillary Clinton months before interviewing her.
The FBI cares about its public image. This is the face of the current FBI. Like it, don’t like it, doesn’t matter. That’s what it is.
I'm no expert, but the Comey/Clinton/Lynch tarmac episode was pretty special.
LOCK THEM UP.
It was a MASSIVE betrayal of public trust by the Director of the FBI, the former President of the United States and the sitting Attorney General.
Breaking large rocks into small ones would seem to be an appropriate price to pay.
The epitome of this was the weasel Comey saying, "You can call us wrong, but don't call us weasels. We are not weasels, we are honest people and we did this in that way."
We also learn the FBI knew of the payoffs to Hillary for the Clinton Foundation to sell our Uranium to Russia. We learn the FBI knows what went on between Loretta Lynch and Bill Clinton.
They are corrupt top to bottom. Unfortunately, that seems to be the norm in DC.
The galling thing about the FBI is the way that they frame whatever dastardly thing they did as "ethical". There is a strident – impossibly shrill demand that we take them at their word.
Their word is not good as an agency. You can argue that the fish rots from the head down, but they, along with the rest of the swamp, needs a thorough flushing out.
(snark) The only work that we can all agree that they did well on was the X-Files…(/snark)
Indeed. And like the X-files, the truth is still…out there. Well, outside the courtroom anyway.
Just sad all around.
Agree with all the comments.
Even their headquarters building is crumbling.
I hadn't heard that, but the metaphor holds whether or not the cornerstone does.
