Not nearly so long ago as all that, in a galaxy near and dear to us all…

A sea of stars is broken by the vast blue surface of the planet, Alderan. Five small moons slowly drift into view from the far side of the planet. (main titles are followed by a roll-up)
Until the recent Great Rebellion, the Jedi were the most feared bloggers in the universe. For one hundred thousand years under the close direction of their leader, Goomba (for all 100,000 years), they perfected their art as the invincible guardians of truth, justice (and the American way of life). Their influence stretched across the Empire from the celestial equator to the farthest reaches of the Great Rift.
Yesterday I met two of these legendary bloggers, but wait, since I have to set up the story.
A small silvery spacecraft emerges from behind one of the moons of Alderan. The deadly little fighter speeds past several moons until it goes into orbit round the fourth moon, gradually descending into the atmosphere. The hull of the fighter glows read as it descends.
Wind blows hot outside Chalmun’s Cantina in the pirate city. It is the haunt of freight pilots and is frequented by dangerous men of various alien races. There are booths, a bar and free-standing tables. A band composed of oddly shaped musicians entertain the clientele to the tunes of Barry Manilow’s Copacabana. Violence erupts at a moment’s notice. As you would expect, droids are not allowed because they don’t drink and take up valuable space.
In a far corner of the bar, the legendary leader of the Jedi Resistance, Goomba, sits, curled with age, covered by a garment that looks disarmingly like a hooded bath robe made of sack cloth. By his side, the lovely, willowy and beautiful Opus, noted member of the Resistance, also a Jedi.
What was said there, remains there (sort of like what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas). Still the my meeting with the legendary bloggers burns in my heart and in my intestines as well since the food in the Pirate Bar was simply not all that good… It’s rare that bloggers meet in the cyber-universe. When face-to-face meetings do occur, it’s cause for wonder. The decrepit, yet vital Goomba, Opus the galactic princess-turned Jedi, and me, a mere mortal.
