Of all the things I loathe about the Democrat party, its celebration of victimhood takes the cake. As is true of all political parties infected with virulent Marxism, it does not seek to help those in need. It does the opposite. It seeks out people who might never have seen themselves as victims and convinces them otherwise. It is a party whose growth in membership is directly proportional to Democrats’ capacity to convert Americans into victims.
Once a person understands Democrats’ pathological need to harvest new victims, it becomes evident that they are not in the business of solving problems. Fixing anything in society only reduces the number of future Democrats. By celebrating victimhood, Democrats are committed to making things worse today than they were yesterday and even worse tomorrow than they are today. Their growth model depends upon perpetual misery.
For most of America’s history, the United States has been a “land of opportunity” unburdened by traditional strictures of social caste. Marxists found it challenging to create a class revolution when American workers were too busy making money and buying land. Coincidentally or not, intergenerational social mobility in the United States declined only after the rise of the Federal Reserve central banking system, the implementation of broadly enforced income taxes, growing encumbrances upon private property, and the rapid expansion of the twentieth-century regulatory state.

** While the mainstream/legacy media excoriates President Trump’s first weeks in office, America has a different point of view. The Super Bowl attendees voted by acclamation by cheering him. Their response to Taylor Swift, who doesn’t like our president, was less charitable. If President Trump were to run for office today, his victory would be even more overwhelming. I expect the Republican control of Congress would be more decisive because of promises made and kept. I have yet to meet a person who has anything good to say about the military acquisitions process. When working as a contractor for a state Department of Transportation, I became thoroughly acquainted with slush funds and contrived-emergencies and all the other ways that were rich with corruption, but vital to keeping the system running… because the normal acquisitions channel was incapable of actually doing its job, much less in a timely manner. The better I was and the more effective I was at cutting time from ordering to fulfillment, the happier the people who needed the parts were… and the more sabotage I faced from the people who needed them using the alternate system to cover their graft.

The United States of America (for some 200 years or so) has been known as an English-speaking nation; for the past 50 years (or so) the Liberal element in this country has been demanding that we “make it easier for newcomers to transition to citizenship” by, in the beginning, teaching classes in Spanish.
When I was in Buenos Aires, I fumbled along in German and Hungarian (as well as English), but I didn’t/couldn’t expect and demand that the porteños speak English, why then must Americans speak Spanish, why is it now necessary when applying for numerous jobs to be asked if you speak Spanish?

Then I gently broke it to him: the international language of aviation is English. If someone wishing to fly in the United States does not have enough English to conduct their business here, then they are not ready to be flying anywhere, at all. I will not put people in any airspace who are dangers to others and themselves because they are incapable of communicating. If he chooses not to speak English, I choose not to do business with him.

Very much so. Every indig foreign language group here in the US had to learn English, so should foreign persons. My dad, a for-real Cajun, had to speak only English in school when he was growing up, and if he wanted to learn a foreign language it was Latin or German. All official documents and monetary documents were in English, none in French or French-Acadian (which is, really, 1650’s Provincial French…) Same with all the Italians, Germans, Irish, Scots, Spanish (non-Mehicans) and everyone else.

TomS, I’ve said the same thing for a long time. We need military training corridors along the unoccupied desert areas adjacent to the US-Mexico Border. I think that we should make an offer to Cuba to buy more of its territory. It’s broke. I don’t want people or infrastructure, but some nice beachfront land that could be transformed into US territory and developed for tourism. Maybe trade them for Puerto Rico, which is a festering sewer. Again, no people – just territory. Maybe west between Gitmo and Santiago with 10 miles inland? There’s nothing there now.
My nephew spent time as a FLNATGD construction unit in Iraq rebuilding what Barky let fall apart. And he also spent time in the PR after the big hurricane. He said he was far more concerned about his survival in the PR than in Iraq because, well, at least in Iraq he was allowed to shoot back, and the Iraqis weren’t nearly as ignorantly angry as the Ricos.

Trump is prepping the battlespace to deal with the judiciary. There will come a day when he says, “Judge X has made his ruling, now let him enforce it.” I think he will have to bring the FBI and the Military command to heel first. But I am hardly a policy expert.
I do know that if the criminals in .gov (and high-profile ones at that) do not end up in shackles, or made permanently unpardonable, then all the MAGA and DOGE-ing in the world will not matter and all the gains will be swept away.
If the Marxists ever regain power, they will waste no time to start killing us. It is now or never.

I think Trump is probably waiting for one of the Supreme Hags to retire and maybe even Squishy Roberts to go away and firmly cement Trump’s vision for the Supreme Judiciary. Getting the overall Supremes to be mostly originalists or constitutionalists. Get the Supremes to where they actually rule on the constitutionality of laws and cases and their role in controlling the stupidity of lower courts and that will be the moment to smack down on lower courts.
