US Congress, Unmasked (h/t Frank)

Did the Los Angeles Dodgers’ act of honoring Satanic Drag Nuns lead to their defeat at the hands of the Arizona Diamondbacks? I’m only asking the question. It’s the Sunday Sermonette if you want it to be.

My daughters and their husbands (3 of 4 sets – one set is a Red Sox fan) are all lamenting the Dodger’s demise at the hands of the “unworthy” Diamondbacks. I pointed out that going full evil with Pride Day, Evil Drag Nuns, etc. sealed their fate.
The Quest Continues

Bullet Points:
** Once upon a time, in a land of mist, many dragons and rotten monsters, lived a princess. She went by the name of Petal. She wasn’t one of those posh, stuck-up princesses and she wasn’t really pretty and she wasn’t really clever; in fact, she was just an ordinary girl with dreams and aspirations about…ya know…stuff.
The queen, her mother, was droolingly beautiful but very uppity and suited the role of stroppy despot very well. It’s what led to her having had several husbands…more from Jules.
** Blame? Amid the fallout from yet another foreign policy disaster under Joe Biden’s watch, the administration should be under serious pressure to answer for its glaring failures. But team Biden has by now learned that they can get away with anything because they will not face any of the media pressure normal administrations (and particularly Republican administrations) face not to make major mistakes, or to rapidly correct problems when they arise.
Yes, the media is to blame in large measure, but who feeds that beast? Follow the money. Everything is intentional.
** “Remember, Cesar, that occasion in the Spain campaign?. You had a twisted ankle, you couldn’t walk, and you were thirsty. One of your soldiers collected water from his helmet and brought it to you… you think you could perfectly remember that man who helped you. And yet you do not recognize me, because then I was still a complete man; then, at the Battle of Munda, I lost an eye and part of the bones of my head… Nor would you recognize the helmet he was wearing, because a Hispanic falcata split it in half” Seneca (De Beneficiis, V)

Identify the Aircraft:
1. Focke-Wulf Fw 187 Falke
2. Grumman F7F Tigercat
3. Hughes XF-11
4. Left for the modelling community.
X2
Didn’t the Hughes XF-11 have counter rotating props on each engine?
IIRC, the first one that Hughes crashed did. Next one was conventional engines with single props.
One of the prop pitch controllers lost all its hydraulic fluid, and both props on that side went full feather.
Howard barely survived that one…

I like your version better.
Nice adder Ed. Would get no argument from the folks we just left, regular people, young families carrying on the rancher/farmer traditions, older folks still working hard everyday. A breath of fresh air being around normal folks who believe in our country but are wary of politicians and those trying to destroy their lifestyles and incomes.
Gaza, all the millions in aid over the years and little has changed. It seems as if the leadership in Gaza is more interested in supporting the idea that all the occupants of Gaza are all victims rather than trying to improve their lot and the citizens have been brainwashed into following along. The Israelis have been cautioned that their response to last weeks attack should be proportionate. There is no proportionate response available; nuclear weapons are simply not strong enough.
Interesting that Race Bannon always seems to be carrying a 1911. Since all the Jonny Quest characters continue to survive I think that says a lot about that pistol.
I agree with what the War Council of Israel said. They need to make a strong statement through action that will always be remembered. Gaza should be depopulated, bulldozed, and resettled or repurposed, with the Arabs who lived there going elsewhere to find a home with their own people (who don’t want them any more than Israel does).
A friend called me the other day, and he asked me, “What would we have done back in the day if we’d run into savages burning babies?” I replied we would have killed them. Gaza is a festering sewer that needs to be cleansed. I realize that there are non-combatants there. They can go somewhere else to live (and not the USA). Maybe the Canadians would want them? Where is Trudeau in all of this? He’s very pro-Palestinian.
I like 1911s too.
Bulldozing and turned into a memorial has merit. It is telling that no country has allowed residents of Gaza to emigrate to their own territory. it is a shame about the noncombatants but there has been noncombatants in ant war. Mr. Trudeau is, as they say, “all hat and no cattle”.
“any” not “ant” sigh, I can’t even blame lack of coffee.
One of my wife’s great-great-grandparents had a photo of a dead white baby pinned to a barndoor with Indigenous People/Amerind arrows. It was from the Southern Great Plains area. I am going to guess it was the Comanche that did it as they were known for their brutality. What did we do with them? (That is a rhetorical question as we know)
Looks like there’s a lot of space available in Greenland for a new refugee camp for the oppressed. Or Iran. Or Martha’s Vinyard.
What do you do with a people who are so odious that even the Palestinians who live on the West Bank don’t want them? Even the Syrians won’t take them.
Send them Planned Parenthood and an extra round of vax and boosters.
It seems Israel targeted Gaza’s Planned Parenthood.
On the attack in Israel . How is it that folks were completely unarmed ? I know the government prevents ownership of guns. But damn ,u can make an effective bow fairly easy, arrows are a bit more complicated . I assume you can buy archery equipment though , as it is sport.
I understand that bows against automatics weapons is a loosing game , but it beats getting shot down like a dog.
Because, though people say that Israel is ‘right-wing,’ it is not. It is close to a national socialist/pseudo-communist country with republic tendencies. Thus all the handwringing about civilians having access to arms, to being able to defend themselves.
I mean, it’s right there in the founding of Israel. The Kibbutz system is… a communist commune. Everyone works for the Kibbutz, everyone takes what they need from the Kibbutz (if it’s available.) That’s how the founding kibbutz system worked.
You would think that after the treatment the Jews got from Germany, France (yes, France, a lot of Frenchmen were happy to ship their Jews to Germany) and Russia that they would have clued in on the Art and Need for Self Defense. But, no.
Just look at all the survivors of the Holocaust who moved to NYFC and then continued and still continue, through their children and children’s children, vote and push for no ability to self defend oneself.
Back to Israel, you’d think after how many wars, how many terrorist attacks, how many mortarings and rocketings and busses blown up, that they’d have clued in on the whole ‘Right to Keep and Bear Arms’ thingy, but, no.
I don’t get it. Haven’t after talking to a camp survivor who hated guns and didn’t see the need for individuals to have the ability to protect themselves against the government or others. (Social Studies class in 8th grade. Horrid stories but no clue as to how to, you know, actually stop people from rounding them up and sending them to the camps. Cognitive Dissonance at its finest.)
Steelers Wheel comes to mind with your opening volley pic…“Clowns to the left of me, Jokers to the right,” and We The People are stuck are the middle…again.”
As those in DC fiddle around rearranging the deck chairs of a sinking Congress, there are regular folks out there working hard everyday to put food on the table despite the Morons in Charge wrecking their 100+ year heritage businesses, making it harder each day to make a decent living…in 2023 no less.
(to repeat) Gaza should be flattened, paved, and a Mickey D’s stuck in the center with a huge PlayLand. Maybe add a Tractor Supply, a Taco Stand, Batting Cages, and Miniature Golf/Chip-n-Putt to round out the Fun Complex.
I don’t know if the Jews would go for it, but you could turn it into the largest pig farm on Earth.
That’ll work…anything other than what it was, a terrorist haven hideout.
It would be better to bulldoze all the cement into the ocean and turn it into productive farmland. Orchards of fruit trees and olive bushes, fields of grain.
Or… make a desert and call it ‘Peace.’
+1
Always follow the money! And I would LOVE to have an F-7 to play with!!!
As to Jules’ tale, well, little airheads will never listen.
Must catch up with Juliette’s mysterion but my, Gaza Strip… I’ll just hold fire, unlike the IDF.
