Remember General Mark “Thoroughly Modern” Milley? As Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, he called his Chinese counterpart and told him that should America plan action against China, he’d let them know in advance. He pushed our military to new lows of Diversity, Inclusion, and Equity madness. His priority was to discover “white rage” among our forces. So determined was he to find and obliterate “extremism”—anything other than leftist thought, word, and deed—he sent our military on a hunt for the thousands of domestic terrorists he was certain lurked in the ranks. Not only were few, if any, found, but Milley and Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin have presided over a recruiting deficit that has emboldened our enemies, horrified our allies, and directly threatened national security. 

A recently released independent study showed that there was no extremism problem in the United States military, despite the Biden Pentagon making it a top priority to root out alleged extremists.

The study, which the Department of Defense commissioned, conducted by the Institute for Defense Analyses, and publicly released just four days before Christmas, “found no evidence that the number of violent extremists in the military is disproportionate” to U.S. society.

Mining Rare Earth

“The U.S. depends on China for over half of the minerals and metals deemed critically important for our nation’s economic health and military readiness.

While China has prioritized mineral production and processing, the U.S. has done the reverse.

Mining in the U.S. has been pushed to the margins. As recently as the 1990s, the U.S. was the world’s largest producer of rare earth minerals. Today, just one rare earth mine remains, and the U.S. must ship its ore to China for processing.

Demand for rare earths is massive and growing. The Massachusetts Institute of Technology says a wind turbine rated at 3.5 megawatts of electricity contains 1,300 pounds of rare earths. The problem isn’t a lack of mineral resources in the U.S. The National Mining Association says the U.S. is home to $6.2 trillion mineral reserves.”

History

The photo depicts Finnish soldiers with the Polish-designed Wz—35 in 1942. The weapon was initially a top-secret project of the Polish Army and was known by various codenames.  The combat-ready rifles were held in closed crates marked: “Do not open! I was going to ask you to ID this, but no. Even I have my limits.

It’s the Tire Assault Vehicle, used by NASA in the 1990s to safely deflate Space Shuttle tires during testing, that were too dangerous for staff to approach. It was built on a Tamiya 1/16th scale Tiger II and armed with a drill and a camera. The question is, would you have ID’d it if I hadn’t given it up?

The Rifle that Schultz carries is NOT the standard Mauser K-98 rifle that the German army used during WW2. What is it?

      The CBP building at Forrest Gate Road off of Hwy 94 was the original US Border Patrol Station in Campo. It was built in 1966. The buildings next to it were part of Camp Lockett. The 10th and 28th Calvary “Buffalo Soldiers” were stationed there over 100 years ago.
      During WWII, Italian, not Japanese soldiers were interned a little east of the Camp.
      The current CBP USBP station is located on Old Hwy 80 and La Posta Road.

      Mr. Lambert might recognize La Posta Road because it is where the NSWC runs some of its small arms training. The old NASA dish at the top of the mountain there was removed several years ago… It reminded me of a Lighthouse on the coast as a way point.

      The Jacumba, CA and Jacume, B.C.N. is a notorious area for the smuggling of drugs and illegal aliens.

      1. I have spent many hours at the CQB training facility (Killing House) in La Posta. Isn’t there a permanent (but abandoned) CBP check station at Jacumba (or very near to it) on I-8? The next one you come to on I-8 is east of Yuma. You’re right that the drug and alien smuggling route runs north of there and then east of Yuma along the Chocolate Mountains because it’s a bombing range (USGOV property) and is not patrolled by CBP because there is a lot of unexploded ordnance there. The Navy has a facility there along the canal, Camp Billy Machen. It was a few Quonset huts when I was last there in the early 90s. Now, it’s a full-blown facility. Or so I’m told.

        1. It’s my understanding that the checkpoints on I-8 at Pine Valley (west bound traffic) and at In-Ko-Pah area (east bound) are closed indefinitely. I just drove through both checkpoints on Christmas. There’s an encampment of a couple hundred “asylum seekers” on Old Hwy 80 near the closed east bound checkpoint.
          Currently the I-8 checkpoint at the east end of Yuma is closed due to the alien traffic and the processing that goes along with it. It’s also closed due to a horrific accident that occurred there when a drunk driver plowed into one of the booths severely injuring a couple of CBP Agents.

          1. They could serpentine the approach to the checkpoint to stop the drunks. That’s no reason to close it. Not my call.

            I haven’t been down I-8 in a long time. I’m unsurprised that the area is overflowing with human lice waiting for their ObamaPhones, $3K/month stipend, and free medical care at taxpayer expense.

      2. Miller, thanks for the corrections. It was 1997-99 when I roamed in that Sierra mountain area, clear down past Mike’s sky ranch, and punto de diablo observatory. Were there any American Japanese detained in southern California? I either heard wrong or mixed up my history as my senior years tend to do. My oh my those checkpoints have really changed. Knowing and living on mission among Mexicans in Baja and Sonora I’ve seen their plights to cross and work, legal and illegal. I’m sure the satellite and drone tech, if re deployed from Afghanistan, could shut the whole 1,500 miles down, in a heart beat. IMHO using a simple 50¢ piece of lead fed to the first one across the wall, and they would stop coming…. illegally. The legal process reform ( or simple enforcement of what is already in place) I must defer to you wiser elders.

    1. During my high school years, I reloaded ammunition for people (maybe 20-25 customers) – specialized hand loads for deer hunters. Of the 20, six or seven shot .30-40 Krag. It was my introduction to the caliber and the rifle. Another five or six shot .30-30 WCF and were surprised how the “pumpkin slinger” could be improved with a lighter bullet and slightly hotter powder than factory loads.

    Ok, my regards to azure reporting on Miley. What is of greater concern is the deafening silence of convictions of high crimes and TREASON committed by the” big guy” and the marionette master pulling his strings!
    Where have all the military aged, young single men been relocated to? Where are the data reports from the pinging Obama phones ( cheaper than ankle bracelets) given them when they accepted the invitation from our/ your/ their ( enough proper pronouns for ya???) Commander and Chief ( Clown)?
    When they were escorted by ( alphabet agency funded) Cartel to ILLEGALLY cross into our sovereignty, and negate our citizenship and “C” rights, war was declared by the greatest threat to our national security. TPTB struck first blood. Are there any reporters with eggs (lleuvos) besides Micheal Yon that can tell us where they are and what they’re doing?

    1. I’m considering writing an action novel.
      The protagonist would be Jack Reacheryan.
      He discovers a plot by fictional president Joe Brandon to smuggle in (or just let walk in) a number of Chinese males of military age.
      Come November they would start what looks like an insurrection, or maybe just a bunch of terrorist activities which would call for said fictional president Brandon to postpone the November elections.
      Too far-fetched?

      1. I think her political principles were best shown with the midnight statue removal while governor of SC. That not only locked up Black (variously capitalized) votes for her but made their lives soooo much better.

  7. Schultz is packing a Krag. It seems those were a go to in Hollywood back in the day. I recall seeing them carried on safari in old Tarzan movies and used on lions.
    John Banner, who portrayed Schultz, was an Austrian Jew who emigrated to the US after Hitler took over his home country. He then served in the US army and even posed for a recruiting poster. He was, of course, much slimmer in those days.

    1. Well at least he is using a K98k at the end of the movie 36 Hours where as a border guard he shoots Werner Peters character whos an SS officer. I think he spits on him and takes his watch as well.

    2. Schultze’s use of a Krag-Jorgensen is perfectly acceptable. The Germans captured lots of them from Norway and Denmark, and used them in rear areas or as last-ditch weapons. Either 6.5mmx55 Swedish or 8mmx58R Danish Krag.

      Using a US .30-40 Krag-Jorgensen would be a good substitute for either the Norwegian or Danish captured weapons as the pixel size on tvs of the time of Hogan’s Heroes wouldn’t easily allow some couch pundit to say “That’s .30-40 and not 6.5mm or 8mm so FAKE!!!” as so many couch pundits would say.

Haley is not eligible at all regardless what The Darkness-bringer did to shade his past to make it look like he was a proper Presidential candidate.

    You would think that in The Founder’s day – with what a few million – we got Washington, Jefferson, Franklin…and a large group of brilliant men who could do what is honorable and right…today we have 350+million and this is the candidate pool we get. DC is so bad no decent person would want an office there (Cawthorn’s damning comments on the “honey pot” entrapment play, ending with, “I’m a Christian man, said “No!” every time [I was surrounded by fawning woman.], knew what was up.)

    Heard the AZ DOW going gaga over the Jaguar siting. Watch, they will now request for a bigger budget to “study” (aka “harass”) Jaguar’s while driving all over in new kitted-out Polaris MZRZ’s.

    .30-.40 Kraig. My first rifle, bought at a auction when I was 14. I later gave it to a cousin who gave it to a grandson who still uses it.

    1. My impression of Congress and particularly the unblooded military leaders is that they go through the motions without ever considering that the unthinkable could happen and we’d enter a non-nuclear war for real rather than just sending people to bomb jungles, sand people, and distant caves.

  13. I knew the little Tire Killer was based on a Tamiya kit, as I’d built one some years ago. Didn’t know NASA had that in their inventory.
