Finding an Enemy

Blog Post
Demonizing your foreign enemy is older than time itself. If you want to see how a government administration demonizes its its own patriots, look no farther than the treatment that Tea Party has received. In fact, the Obama Administration has made the word “patriot” a target word for an attack by the Internal Revenue Service or the Environmental Protection Agency. The phrase “sovereign individual” brings scrutiny from the Departments of Homeland Security and Justice. Conservatives represent a political class and usually they are also part of a predictable social demographic (usually have jobs, families, pay taxes).

Unintended Consequences

President Obama, architect of class warfare, decreed that he would call anyone out who lied about ObamaCare – and he himself ended up sitting in the metaphorical corner with a dunce cap on. We now know that you can’t keep your doctor, your health insurance or go to the hospital of your choice. The program that would co-opt and collectivize 20% of the economy and buy votes for Democratic Party candidates would seem to have backfired.

ObamaCare was sold as a by-product of a campaign of class warfare. The goal is to gain power by robbing one group and giving that money to another one to gain power.

“Power is not a means; it is an end. One does not establish a dictatorship in order to safeguard a revolution; one makes the revolution in order to establish the dictatorship. The object of persecution is persecution. The object of torture is torture. The object of power is power.” – Orwell, 1984

Let’s look at how class warfare been accomplished though history with a couple of brief examples:
Soviet Russia’s Kulaks
This is a good place to start because there are clearly common threads between the Soviet Russian attack on “kulaks” and the class warfare that President Obama has fulminated and that continues to simmer in America.

(Wikipedia) The word kulak originally referred to independent farmers in the Russian Empire who emerged from the peasantry and became wealthy following the Stolypin reform, which began in 1906.

Historically, not all kulaks were rich. In fact, they became anybody with property that didn’t give what they had to the “soviets” – committees. By 1918, a kulak was by definition, any farmer who resisted handing over their grain to militia detachments from Moscow or resisted the will of the central government. This expanded further under Stalin’s purges where anyone with a few acres of land was labeled a kulak. Anyone who was envied by another was soon branded as a ‘kulak’, and could be shipped east to the gulags (work camps) or merely robbed based on that whim.
Vladimir Ilyich Lenin defined kulaks as “bloodsuckers, vampires, plunderers of the people and profiteers, who batten on famine.” Today in this American era of collectivism where the government has moved to control all healthcare in the nation, I’m sure that those who opt out will be painted with an appropriately negative term — maybe “patriot” or “sovereign individual” since both of those terms are present buzz words that indicate an enemy of the state.
When Russian peasants refused to give in to the Soviet System as completely as the government wanted them to (Wikipedia) “Beginning in 1932-33, great famines ensued, with several million dying in the Ukraine famine alone. Documents uncovered in recent decades from this time period show that “the Stalin leadership” was aware of what was occurring in the countryside, and were actually using the “famine as a means of terror, and of revenge, against the peasantry.”
Germany’s Jews
I won’t belabor this because there is such a large volume of information on the Holocaust, most readers will be as familiar or more familiar than I am on the subject. The National Socialist government in Germany needed the money that Jews had. In order to justify seizing the property of fellow Germans, they created the concept of untermenschen (less than human) to apply to Jews. The enemy could have their property stripped from them because after all, they were not only less than German, they were less than human. Six million German Jews later, the world became aware and said, “isn’t that a shame – it would never happen here.” (wherever “here” happens to be)
Today the Mainstream Media labels people too in their current role as the cats paw of the Government
Terms such as “homophobic”, “pro-life”, “racist” or “Islamophobic”.  Whether true or not, being tagged by any of these labels can be cause for you to lose your job. In the future that might also extend to you losing your healthcare.
The old are particularly vulnerable. Recall if you will the “death panels” that are attached to ObamaCare. According to Cass Sunstein, key Obama Advisor, older people who are no longer contributing to society need to be weeded out and a good way to do that is simply to deny them medication and allow them to die “with dignity”. Those who have exempted themselves from ObamaCare (the privileged political class and the people who pay them) would not be subject to the same rules and could live to a ripe old age with all of the miracles of modern medicine to prolong their lives.
It’s very dangerous to apply labels to classes of people who are ripe for destruction. Ask not for whom the bell tolls.

  1. When lies are often enough repeated, especially from high platforms, they take on the tinge of truth.

  2. There are large groups of urban people, probably many living in CA or IL, who continue to lap up what the mainstream media serves daily. And they loathe and fear Tea Party patriots. Sad.

  3. Excellent post. The demonization of folks who are the backbone of society and the economy continues. The goal is no doubt the destruction of the old order, to be replaced with something a bit redder.

  4. Maybe they're right to fear the Tea Party folks because if the Tea Party got its way, those urban folks would need to find employment instead of living off the largess of the working population.

  5. Something redder, something disarmed and definitely more compliant — somebody who loves Big Brother far more deeply and unconditionally.

  6. Well said LL, and definitely on point! They are pushing toward a tipping point they will not be able to control, and I don't think they realize it…

  7. Opus hit it. I can sit around with what appear to be "like minded" but generally apolitical people, and then it comes out, "Well the Tea Partiers and extremists…." and then fill in with anything the Tea Party is NOT about.
