Easter is the holiest of all holidays in the Christian calendar, but also the most joyful. The miracle of the Resurrection was not only the fulfillment of God’s promise that, through His Son, our sins would be forgiven and we could have eternal life, but also a constant reminder that even when all seems dark and hopeless, God will never abandon us.

Battle of Franklin. Didn’t five Generals die in that battle?
Six generals died or were mortally wounded. It was an unnecessary battle and Gen. Hood called for the “Pickett’s Charge of the West” into a smaller but condensed and heavily fortified Federal position ~6200 casualties. Hood was insane at the time (my opinion only). By November 1864 the South was on its back leg and it was only a matter of time. Sterling Price shot his bolt in Missouri the previous autumn in the hopes that the citizens would rise in mass and they did not. “The Cause” destroyed lives, property and families and by 1864 the South was starving because much of the harvest could not be brought in or was destroyed because of the war. The bravery of people on both sides is not in question. The reason for continuing is another matter. And Hood’s Army charged as intended with predictable results.
Another factor was the Union had several regiments equipped with 16 shot Henry and 7 shot Spencer rifles. The Confederates attacked over open ground, virtually no artillery support as they were still traveling, against dug in troops with a high rate of fire.

Walking the ground even though built up today it’s fairly obvious the Confederates should have flanked the Union entrenchments with General Forrest’s Cavalry and some accompanying infantry rather than a frontal assault.
Hood said that he wanted to punish his men. He did.
