There’s also Big Mike Obama – maybe a Veep? So long as the elections are rigged, what does it matter who runs? A potted plant (equal to Pedo Joe’s mental state) would be preferable to Pedo Joe.

When a Sailor topped his boom
Sailors had a number of colorful expressions for death at sea, mostly involving nautical terms. Some sails need a long spar, or boom, to spread their foot. When the boom is topped, the vessel is ready to start the voyage. Sailors adopted the expression – to top your boom – to refer to the journey to the afterlife, from which there was no return. Other salty euphemisms for dying were to – cut your painter-, – slip your cable,- cross the bar -, and –go aloft-. A sailor might talk about meeting Davy Jones, the spirit of the deep. Davy Jones was thought to be in all storms and was sometimes seen as being huge height, with three rows of sharp teeth in an enormous mouth, and emitting blue flames through his nostrils.

Another explanation is that Davy derives from St. David, the saint often invoked by Welsh sailors and Jonah, the biblical figure swallowed by a whale. Some claim that Davy Jones was a pub owner in London 1542, who kept drugged ale in a special cupboard and served it to the unwary, who were thus shanghaied- sent stupefied off to sea.

Davy Jones ‘ Locker was the bottom of the sea, a sort of repository for everything that went overboard, from rigging to men. Sailors used to say, “Nothing is lost, for you know where it is.”
Then there was Fiddler’s Green, a mythical Elysium, which probably only appears in written records from the early 19th century onwards, but this does not mean that there were no oral records. It was waiting for shell-backs, those who had been at sea for so long (more than 50 years) when they slipped their cable and went to their rest. So all those who died peacefully at sea in old age. In this paradise, populated by countless willing ladies, equipped with rum casks that never emptied, it was always a fair wind and flying fish weather. To get to Fiddler’s Green the shell-back became a gull and then flew to the South Pole, where the entrance awaited him in the form of an open hatch.

Sailors did not like molesting sea birds, as they were thought to be the spirits of dead sailors who had not yet found their way to Fiddler’s Green: Unless the ship was very close to land, burial was at sea for most sailors. The body was sewn up in the man’s hammock and weighted with a cannonball. At the last minute, a stitch through the nose confirmed that he was really dead. It became customary for the man who performed this task to claim a guinea per body (from the dead man’s unpaid wages).
The French brought their slain sailors mostly home, buried in the ship ballast so they could be given Catholic rites. The British were very uneasy to have a corpse on board the ship, believing it would attract bad luck. If a corpse was carried on board there were some things that could be done to minimize the impact: it must always lie athwart the vessel, never end on (Didn’t seem to apply to Nelson, who was pickled in a barrel), and when the home port was reached it must leave the ship before anyone else.

X2, Paul. I saw some artwork out #1 grandson colored, and my wife had on the fridge. Had a unicorn in it. Then I noticed the unicorn was in the middle of a pentagram, with candles in startegic spots, along with a couple of other “hints”, and showed it to SLW. She immediately tore it down and trashed it.
To this day, we don’t know where he got the plain page to color.

I’ve unfortunately seen it first hand conducting military combat operations overseas and working OCONUS with the PMC company I was with at the time. Special rung n hell for all involved in those networks.
It’s on my list too. In fact it’s the only thing on the list because I’ve given up on Pedowood. Not exactly a boycott, it’s just that the overwhelming majority of those people disgust me.
I’ve not seen child trafficking first hand, for which I’m (selfishly) grateful. I do know several women who were trafficked, but as teenagers or young adults. One has her life together on paper (useful degree, job) but is on lots of meds. The others are marginal and have substance abuse issues (there’s a chicken/egg problem there usually, but still). I suspect almost no one really “recovers” completely.
On the abuser side, I once had a patient who went to jail for raping (yes vaginally) his own 3-yo grand daughter. The 5-yo grand-daughter walked in on him doing it, at a family gathering, which is how he got caught. When we first met, he told me that he’d been in prison, but on trumped up charges because of racism.
Behind the woodshed for that innocence robber sicko..he wouldn’t walk out if I had my way.
My former brother-in-law did his adopted daughter and was headed towards one other niece. That niece came to live with us when she was 18.
When I speak of my daughter, she is it.
I told her the only arrangement a young lady can live in my house under is as her father. And she needed a father figure.

Responders said living there has become “unaffordable” under his tenure. I stated this change was over decades, not just the past 4 years or so, and is happening in nearly every state…that they ought to focus on their Statehouse not solely the guy at the helm. None were buying it.
Makes one want to totally disconnect from such matters, leave the infighting to the General Public who appear just as entrenched as the politician’s they despise.

As with anything, everyone thinks theirs is the only ox being gored, which was funny considering how these Floridian’s asserted their situation was supremely unique therefore blamed DeSantis as the only root cause. I like him, believe he’s a good man, but should stay at state-level…not everyone deserves or can shine at the next level.

First thought I had about DeSantis was – he’s not quite ready for prime time, so he should be allowed to simmer at the state level for a while yet. Don’t know if there is a connection, but I think the same could be said about Sarah Palin. Did the Go Pee group decide she was a potential future threat and brought her in as VP candidate before she was ready for it, all to make things safer for themselves in the future? There are some who claim that a number of DeSantis backers have a peculiar odor about them. I guess time will tell.
I could never begin to understand why in that arena of so-called “pubic service” the practitioners somehow manage a complete lack of Biblical tenet, honor, and character…I swear one must first make a deal with the Devil to participate. Heard a report today that Depends Joey has completely lost his filter when dealing with staff, berating them at the drop of a hat. The guy is half dead and totally lost to reality but is being propped up as if he is actually President…and the media and Congress act as if all is normal and acceptable. Zero honor among those thieves and bums.

DeSantis is good. And the Enemedia know it. So they are working extra hard to nuke his run for El Presidente. The same Enemedia that thought Trump was going to lose to Hillary.
Me? I like him as a governor. He has the cojones to tackle tough subjects and he pressured the RINOs in the state legislature to pass non-permit concealed carry. Though he has said he’d sign full Constitutional carry.
I like him. I like that he supported his wife when she was sick. I like her in that she isn’t an anti-American leftist jackwagon/jackwagonette like the Mooch. The whole family is remarkably grounded.
Will he do good as a president? Dunno. But the GOPe seem to like him more than Trump and that does concern me somewhat. At least DeSantis has better understanding of the Swamp so he won’t allow cabinet members to be selected for him (hopefully.)

Then again, if going on the basis of doing a good job as a governor, JEB! was a great governor for Florida. Didn’t rock the boat too much, knew when to yell for help from the FedGov during some really bad storms. But JEB! as president? Nope.

Went to see Sound of Freedom yesterday. Good crowd. Would recommend. Most folks here are reality based and understand what is happening. Hoping this will open the eyes of others. Years in the military and medicine have inured me to the evil that exsists.
