A Few Thoughts on Young Washington (feature film)
I think that it did well on a $20 million budget. AI was used, but it was necessary to meet the budgetary limit. Mary Louise Parker (Mary Ball Washington) is now 61 years old, sadly, no longer a MILF, and co-stars with a prominent cast, including Sir Ben Kingsley (Governor Robert Dinwiddie), Andy Serkis (General Braddock), and Kelsey Grammer (Lord Fairfax). I think the casting of Tanacharison (The Half King), who had a long historical backstory, might have been reconsidered. Ryan Begay didn’t do a bad job, but using a Seneca or a member of the Confederation rather than a Navajo would have been helpful. I liked the casting of French Ensign Joseph Coulon de Jumonville (Clement Toyon) because he hammed it up properly.

The people in the theater were all old. It should have been filled by young people. But that’s not how it is.

Your review of young Washington was very concise. I too was a bit taken aback when they posted their QR code at the end to “finance the sequel.” In my younger days I’ve seen strippers who weren’t as forward in “dragging their sack” as you aptly put it. I still enjoyed it.
In the teasers, the “coming attractions from Angel Studios” all looked very unappealing. Not only wouldn’t I pay a theater price to see them, but I also wouldn’t watch them if they were “free” on network television. I don’t know if it’s just me getting older or if my tolerance for dumb plots and bad acting is getting to me. I have a better tolerance than some for watching a film with a woke actor (Liam Neeson comes to mind – the anti-gun activist) playing in an action film. But that wears thinner these days. Here we are pushing not only Germany, but the rest of the Euros to (re)arm themselves against Vladimir Vladimirovich’ sharpened maxillary incisors; that he has designs upon their tender tootsies; almost all of the Euros are far more (to the best of my knowledge) socialist/Marxist than the old USSR. Do we really and truly want a strengthened NATO? Why? It’ll only be a force of better than 50% muzzies; will their aims coincide with ours?
