Bullet Points:
** Equality in misery is the woke gameplan in Chicago.
** The problematic problem of funding incarceration. Arizona’s Pinal County says it needs $858 million to upgrade the jail (pre-trail and convicted area), but it won’t add a bed. Remember that the county jail system differs completely from the state and federal prison systems. Prisons are for convicted felons.
** The news used to tell you that something happened, and you had to decide what you thought about it. Times have changed. Now the news tells you how you should think about things and you have to decide if it ever happened.
** Who is that puppet master pulling the strings during Obama’s Third Term?
** Nuclear fission – out there in space. It’s an interesting article.
Scientists have discovered the first indication of nuclear fission occurring amongst the stars. The discovery supports the idea that when neutron stars smash together, they create “superheavy” elements — heavier than the heaviest elements of the periodic table — which then break down via nuclear fission to birth elements like the gold in your jewelry.
** (The Bee) “I love democracy, and this is why we had to vote to overrule the millions of Colorado citizens who want to elect Trump through the democratic process,” said Colorado Justice and white woman Melissa Hart after the vote. “Trump is a terrifying orange man, and if he’s elected, he will likely grow to over 50 feet and rampage through the country, killing people with his laser eyes. Our democracy is too precious for us to allow that to happen.”
After Justice Hart’s statement, the three other justices who voted with her stood and clapped in approval.
** If you don’t swear while driving, you’re not paying enough attention to the road.
** Independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s third request for Secret Service protection has been denied, according to a letter obtained by the Deseret News.
The letter, signed by Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, says that USSS protection for Kennedy is “not warranted.” The letter’s veracity was confirmed Friday night by the Kennedy campaign.
“I have consulted with an advisory committee composed of the Speaker of the House, the House Minority Leader, the Senate Majority Leader, the Senate Minority Leader, and the Senate Sergeant at Arms,” Mayorkas wrote. “Based on the facts and the advisory committee’s recommendation, I have determined that Secret Service protection for Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is not warranted at this time.”
The donkeys fear RFKjr far more than they fear Pres. Trump.
** From VDH – It’s going to be hard enough getting through the next year. We CANNOT continue on this course til 2028. I seriously fear the country will fracture.
In the first American Civil War, the geographic and ideological battlelines were clear: The South – controlled by the Democrat Party – wanted Slavery more than the Union. No such lines exist now. It would be a nightmare. It’s not hard to imagine five or so polities emerging from the Federal government’s collapse, but would the blob allow itself to be defied? If it steals the 24 elections, will farmers continue to ship their goods to cities? And will the Feds come to take it by force if not?
It’s a nightmare scenario. The Democrats will bleat all day, every day for the next 11 months, that Trump is a threat to Democracy, not believing a word of it and completely willing to sacrifice Democracy to hold onto power. Biden or whoever emerges from behind the curtain is the true threat: that and the somnolent indifference of the citizenry.
** Published |Updated Col. (Ret.) Jonathan Sweet and Mark Toth
On Christmas Day, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and his generals sent a strong message about the violent destruction of the Russian naval landing ship Novocherkassk. At the same time, it was docked in Feodosia, Crimea. The vessel was suspected of carrying Iranian-made drones.
With the hit, Zelenskyy’s messaging was threefold: One, Kyiv has no intention of negotiating away any of its territory, regardless of how many “peace feelers” Russian President Vladimir Putin and the Kremlin may have floated in Washington and Brussels. Two, Ukraine remains intent on militarily retaking the entire Crimean Peninsula. And three, the Ukrainian army will fight on, with or without U.S. military aid and economic support.

Gaza Update

The IDF made large advances in northern Gaza over the past week. The IDF initiated an operation intoBureij, expected to take 2-3 weeks. Last week, they issued an evacuation warning for this area. Israel has also made some advances in the Khan Yunis area.

Gaza will be turned into a parking lot with a significant number of terrorists entombed in tunnels. Maybe they’ll be unearthed by archeologists in 1000 years?

3 Islands in the Persian Gulf, Iran and the UAE have been disputing for decades.

Share of Muslim Population in Europe.
With a Muslim population that makes up around a quarter of its population, Cyprus has the highest estimated share of Muslims living within its borders.

The Muslim share of the Bulgarian and French populations is also quite high, with 11.1 and 8.8 percent shares, respectively. Portugal, Romania, Czechia, and Poland have the lowest Muslim shares of the population at under one percent.

Well, I feel much better about my road rage now.
Hope everyone had a marvellous Christmas!
I get road rage sitting still reading the activities of the Biden/Obama Regime.
I’m forced to speak sweetly to other drivers when my grandchildren are in the car. It hurts.
My wife asked me the definition of Moron yesterday.
She just wanted to make sure I was using it correctly.
I find myself muttering, in fact my mutter-age has increased exponentially in the last 3+ years. Before that under PDJT (even with the charade impeachment operations) I felt more “at ease” in the world. Just glad my neighbors are over half a mile away otherwise they might think I’m loony talking to myself while listening to “the news” on the bluetooth headset (ok, probably do anyway).
+1
I do swear at other drivers from time to time, but I usually limit myself to illegally using the PA system on the bus to deliver remedial driver’s training lessons.

:)
Most of my profanity seems to occur whenever I need to drive in the greater Kansas City area. I can do this in several languages.
A man’s gotta have skills.
Jails as well as prisons are all part of the huge conglomerate called the “Justice Industry” here in America. A lot of people make a living (a good one too!) off the Justice Industry.
There is a LOT said in just using the phrase “In the first American Civil War”.
Tank #2, what is the thing over the top for?
Radio antenna.
Thanks!
I “chat” with other drivers…you know…to help them learn how to pay attention and drive with respect to others on the road. Thing is – especially in Hazy Colorado – more and more appear to be just coming from the Rec-Med place stoned out of their gourd. Which is why I regularly clean the inside of the windscreen (for Jules). Maybe I’ll invent an inside wiper for real-time cleaning as travels about likely will get worse.
The Magical Mr. O’s 3rd Term Administration includes this guy: Norm Eisen. Seems he admitted to being the architect to derail Trump’s 2024 bid. More rats than we can count At least one State doesn’t entirely have their defeat democracy in the name of democracy mantra in play: Michigan. Their SC just said “Nope, not having it” to the Democrat scum who tried to keep Candidate Trump off the ballot…because they have nothing else.
Speaking of that (re: Colorado banishes Trump), no word from my “What the hay is this?!” // “Stop this childish nonsense!” semi-terse email to my Colorado “Representative” (D), who – best one can tell – thinks I work for her so apparently has again given me the dismissive backhand. Must be nice to ignore your constituents.
Gubmint pay raises: Signed up for SS roughly 2 weeks ago (did the math, doesn’t pay me to wait any longer). So far ZERO response from those who work for us doing the work they set up for us. Seems most are still working from home due to…I kid you not (says so right on their website): Covid.
December 28th today, what are the odds I’ll get a response before June?
I think that the State Supremes here in Michigan don’t want to be embarrassed by being overruled by SCOTUS.
I’m all for whatever works to stop these demented imbeciles from further destruction of American life as we used to know it.
Third term. Thanks for that link.
Swearing while driving. Having lived here in Arlington, TX since 2015, I have given that up. They have worn me out. I have been accused of driving like a little old lady. I reply that the fact I am still alive proves their point. If I receive a one finger salute, my response is to light up in a big smile and wave enthusiastically as if seeing long lost friend. Absolutely fries their circuits.
Civil War II. A nightmare indeed. Obviously, there are those here and abroad who are salivating for just that. IMHO, their first move would be grid down, then sit back and watch the dominos fall.
“Prisons are for convicted felons.”
Yet they typically fare much better there than the poor unconvicted soul languishing in a county jail.
There are Constitutional guarantees for a speedy trial. Many defendants waive time, but they don’t have to.
I’m not clear on “waive time”.
The people (the government) is required to bring the case to trial swiftly. There are different numbers depending on whether the person was indicted by a grand jury (a reasonable man would conclude that a crime was committed and the subject committed the crime), pre-arrest, or whether there is a preliminary hearing where the judge finds the same standard. The trial must start within 60 days of the arraignment on the Information. The defendant can “waive” (give up) the right to a speedy trial. This means he or she agrees to have the trial after the 60-day period (also known as “waiving time”).
Thanks.
During those sixty days, discovery is presented by the prosecution in a reasonable period for the defendant to prepare their defense. The burden in all cases is on the state to present its case such that the defendant is guilty beyond a reasonable doubt and to a moral certainty, and all 12 jurors must agree.
If all 12 jurors don’t agree, you have a “hung jury,” and the prosecution has the option of re-filing and re-trying the case.
That’s true in federal and state criminal proceedings. I have 21 years of experience in both systems on the government side. Since retirement, I have taken criminal defense investigation cases. So I’ve some experience on the dark side. I charge quite a lot. It’s not my daily bread.
PS – I routinely charge more than the lawyer does. However, I’m worth it.
Clearly…you’re my first phone call…in the event…
When my wife applied (this was last year, she was already eligible) it happened pretty quick.
She first received a double payment, then it skipped a month then it was there (correct amount) on the 4th Wednesday of every month.
Knowing that the SS vault is filled with IOUs from the US Treasury Dept I am delighted that the money still shows up every month!
Every time someone talks about SS as an “entitlement” and there not being enough money to cover it, what they mean is the politicians don’t want to cover the IOUs…
It’s more important that Ukraine pensioners are paid than US pensioners.
“the Ukrainian army will fight on, with or without U.S. military aid and economic support.”
How far can they go without our support?
I’m tempted to say “Let’s find out!”, but we did make a promise to protect them from Russia.
We did not promise to launder money through them, though.
Hunter promised to launder money through them. The Big Guy says his word is good and his straw paintings are worth millions.
When it comes to the next Civil War, Kurt Schlichter gives a good representation, starting in People’s Republic. Indian Country is chilling.
CWII – the houses of the future will be built for 18th Century conditions. Imagine no electricity, no working gas pipelines, and no running water. Imagine roaming cannibal gangs.
Quannah Parker, call your office.
The upside to no electricity – no digital currency that the govt can force on everyone.
School Equity Fools- In High School MrsPaulM was bused (remember that 1970’s debacle) from a good local school district (Chicago West suburb) to the next district closer to the city, that was – shall we be direct – mostly Mexican, a drugs and gangs epicenter. As a young blonde cheerleader she got picked on or beat up dang near daily. Yet the parents did absolutely nothing to combat the demented Teacher Union and District thugs that decided this was a good idea (aka. dumb everyone down equally). So, to get the hell out of this “official equity” asininity she decided to accelerate her senior year, graduated early at 16…because Ms. cum laude could…unlike the rest of us schlubs who actually needed four solid years.
This latest idiocy is because the Left has no clue about history – what worked and what didn’t, thinking every inane idea that pops into their addled brains is new and unique. So now they will try it again only to harm students further than they have over the past 3 years of Lockdown stupidity. Geniuses they are not (Mayor Johnson looks like a pinhead in Hugo Boss). Watch, the extra funding to do this will get laundered around while they attend “dinners” patting each other on the back for more largess sucked from silent taxpayers.
One of the many ways that America was destroyed is that it’s impossible for the government to pay a reasonable amount for absolutely anything.
How a Jail could possibly cost $ 1 Billion is completely beyond me. They just don’t have to be that nice, and how big could it possibly be, 50,000 beds !?
Freakin’ madness.
– Kle.
From my travels it seems every new this or that building (eg. Forest service, police station, DOW, etc.) are now some architects wet dream…soaring beamed cantilevers, top finishes and materials, glass atriums, huge square footage…on and on they go building monuments to themselves on our nickel. Government buildings should be functional to the discipline, not some Frank Lloyd Wright style design.
There is no sense that the government is the people’s servant. They view us as their subjects in much the same way as King George III did.
Digital currency is what the left wants as a measure of ‘control’ over everyone. But if there is no power, there is no money, is there? Re road rage, it IS getting worse rather than better, and sooner or later there will be more shootouts on the streets in the metromesses (which is why I stay the hell out of them)! And apparently the Irish are pushing back on the muslim encroachment after the knifings a couple of weeks ago, much to the displeasure of the ‘administration’ over there.
Back in the 1980s county jails cost about $50,000 per bed for new construction.
Fun fact: the Shasta County Jail in Redding, CA. was pretty much cloned in Augusta , GA.
The Shasta County Jail and Courts should have been built on land owned by the county near the airport, but was built downtown on Court Street near the offices of the local attorneys and wanna be future judges.
Parking that was already horrific became impossible.
The jail exceeded its design population a year.after opening…there is no room for expansion.
Later, a new unplanned multilevel parking structure had to be built to serve the new jail at taxpayer expense.
Had TPTB built near the airport there was room for expansion, almost unlimited parking, it could have been a single-story complex instead of thirteen stories downtown, also prisoner transport world have been much more secure and easier to facilitate with the airport next door.
The thing that really ticked me off was that the county closed all the public libraries, because there was not enough money to keep them open….but, we could build a $23 million jail!
Remember, these people are not smart, but they are confident in all they know so little about, just ask them.
For some reason I am reminded of a conversation with a guy who worked in an NYC jail. This would have been around the late 60’s/early 70’s time frame. They got a guy who had a warrant for one Southern state. While in the NYC jail said inmate was MR Big; always very pushy about getting his way, and threw his weight around. LEO from said Southern state showed up to transport him -no restraints on him and no built-in restraints in the back seat. They brought Mr Big over, removed their restraints, and asked LEO if he wanted to borrow them. He replied “No problem”, opened the trunk, and ordered Mr Big to get in. Mr Big meekly replied “Yes, sir” and crawled in. LEO closed the trunk and drove off, leaving all those watching with their mouths hanging open.
Sheriff Joe Arpaio put them in prison camps and made them wear pink in Arizona. I don’t know, but I expect that the per-bed cost dropped a long way.
Pink is calming, moreso than sky blue. Sheriff Joe was onto something, saying, “If our troops can be in the Middle East sweltering in their tents at 120 degrees then it’s only fair prisoners did the same.” And the Lib’s hated him for it…because it worked and they dislike solutions that gain results.
The Arpio holding facilities met the test of diversity (all races were there), equity (if it’s good enough for our troops, it’s good enough for our prisoners) and inclusion (all were welcomed). Liberals would kick if they were hung with a new rope.
Let’s prove that hypothesis.
I say that we re-use the rope in the spirit of conservatism.
People are starting to promote the need for a real insurrection (not that Bravo Sierra being pushed). Not that they want it, but what choice is being given…which to some is exactly what those kicking the sleeping porch dog want. Catch-22?
Ps. Sisal rope has a certain Jose Wales “feel and sound” that can’t be replaced with nylon…and less stretch.
Gaza- Flatten it, pave it over and put a Nathan’s Hebrew National Kosher hotdog place in the middle. Better yet, two, because it’ll get busy. Maybe even add a Ray’s Pizza for good measure.
A kosher fast food “Mecca” – what a great idea. You know that a theme park would emerge around it.
See, the right solutions matter to bringing a smile to faces and joy to the seaside desert community, only family oriented (sorry Disney, but you are no longer viable as “family oriented”). Instead, make it like The Wisconsin Dells; water parks galore, big gaudy castle amusements, and cotton candy/funnel cake huts.
Right with you, not least, “The donkeys fear RFKjr far more than they fear Pres. Trump.”
Perhaps Mitchell will swoop in outta leftfield.
