How do they expect these vehicles to be recharged in battle? I don’t care if it is a tank, an APC or a Humvee. Every vehicle needs to be refueled on a regular basis. One of the first targets in a war or battle is electrical sources – transformer stations, power lines, etc. Not only the power source the proper hookup for charging. Then the hours of waiting for it to recharge…

Now, a diesel-electric tank is a doable thing. Removes the transmission and drive shafts, go directly to hub-electric drives. Even toss in a few extra batteries so the vehicle can sit watch on power without running a gen set for a while.
But full electric? That’s a no-bueno, especially due to the safety concerns with lithium battery packs.
Same with electric ships, electric APCs, electric IFVs, electric planes that are battery powered.
As to the navy vessels, they are all steam powered using nukes, right? Not direct electric power from nukes.

You can have Radioisotope Thermoelectric Generators, like is what is used on some satellites and planetary probes. Decay creates heat and using physics electricity is generated by weird effects of electrons and other space magic.
Every other nuke plant? Steam powered. Nuke plant heats liquid, usually water, radioactive liquid is circulated through regular water, regular water turns to steam, steam powers turbines, turbines turn generators.
Then again, your standard fossil fuel power plant is also steam powered. Heat heats water, turns to steam, steam powers turbines, turbines turn generators.
With some of the newest reactors, you could potentially remove all the fossil fuel burning portions and replace them with nukes.

Boron, NASA had about a dozen plutonium generators that flew on the deep space missions where sunlight was too weak to power the spacecraft. There was a lot of pushback from the green lobby who thought that radioactive decay generators were dangerous in space. 😵💫
They were used and NASA decided not to allow JPL to use more of them. I’ve heard that decision was reversed and that they will fly “secretly” on deep space missions including the Jupiter Icy Moons lander that can’t use solar power.

Since the liberals keep messing with the power supply I am sorely tempted to take advantage of my state and federal electrical power incentives. Not because I believe solar power is a viable option, far from it, but so I have power when the democrats shut everything down and gas for my backup system is 10 bucks a quart. The only drawback is that my house faces south so the panels would be visible from the road albeit it is seldomly traveled and there are 800ft of trees and field between my house and the road.
Me as well, even if i had a few panels and a decent battery bank to run the essentials.
A lot of places won’t allow cut-off switches between the house and the utilities because the house is considered part of the ‘generating equipment.’ Even though in an emergency when the plant power is down the lines can be energized by house solar equipment and fry linemen.
Government regulations, dontcha know. Government can mess up a wet dream dontcha know.

LSP I have a dual suspension EV mountain bike and enjoy it quite a bit. Can go about 60 miles on a full charge which is about 15 miles farther than my body will last so it works well for me.
Electric propulsion works in many instances. In others, it’s simply not ready for prime time.
