The LNG Market
Breaking into the global LNG market has been an outstanding success for the American economy. The technical sophistication required to master this vital hydrocarbon’s liquefaction, transportation, and regasification is not trivial.
Each LNG cargo shipment represents the fruits of years of permitting and construction, billions of dollars of investment, and decades of contract negotiations (also known as “off-take agreements”).
The arrival of carriers laden with American LNG to Europe in the months after Russia’s invasion of Ukraine in 2022 was celebrated by the Biden-Harris (Pedo Joe/Ho) regime.
These ships, metaphorically speaking, set sail a decade earlier as LNG export terminals navigated the dilapidated federal regulatory process. These liquefaction facilities, in turn, rely on natural gas supplied from fields that had to be explored and developed over many years.
The Biden regime’s decision in January 2024 to pause most export approvals until the completion of duplicative economic and environmental studies has already damaged the trustworthiness of American natural gas supplies.
Japan, one of our closest allies and most important LNG customers, was the first to sound the alarm.
That damage will be compounded if these studies allow the federal government to extract concessions from the U.S. natural gas industry before approvals resume. Regulatory uncertainty means higher costs, longer and delayed timelines, and potentially disrupted supply chains.
“Turning off” LNG exports would cause a cascading series of dislocations throughout the economy, not only in the export sector. It has already taken the better part of a generation to achieve the nation’s dominant position in natural gas. That is at risk with the stroke of a pen.
The next president can lift the pause on approvals, but that must be done carefully to mitigate the risk of litigation, and only Congress can provide a permanent solution.

The NY Times editors did not think this article would be viewed as an effective campaign ad for President Trump’s re-election. They intended it as a harsh, definitive, and irrefutable takedown.
They have spun every argument to be as damning as possible to their adversary, at least in the view from inside their bubble. But based on my reading, it sure looks like they are making many compelling arguments to vote for Trump.
He has said he intends to expand presidential power by directing independent federal agencies. This means that President Trump wants to operate the federal government under the Constitution, notably the principle that “The executive Power [of the U.S. government] shall be vested in a President of the United States of America.”
That quote is the first line of Article II of the Constitution. The Constitution contains no other grant of executive power.
Suppose the so-called “independent” agencies (examples include the SEC, FTC, FCC, CFTC, and many others) decline to follow the direction of the elected President. In that case, they act contrary to the Constitution and undermine democracy.
…stripping employment protection from civil servants and purging officials from security agencies…
Civil servants who decline to follow the direction of the elected President are equally acting in defiance of Article II Section 1 of the Constitution and of their oath to uphold it. The violation of oaths was particularly egregious within the security agencies during the first Trump term.
Whichever candidate a voter favors, I hope the voter expects the civil servants to honor the voters’ wishes and follow the directions of whoever gets elected.
Of course, civil servants who violate their oaths of office should be fired.
So-called “civil service” protections date from a more innocent era (1880s) when naive, good government types thought that neutral and non-political “experts could just staff the government.”
Today, that has morphed into a system of a vast bureaucracy of 90+% Democrats who think they are entitled to work full-time to undermine all efforts of an elected Republican to change the direction of the ship of state. I am confident that today’s Supreme Court will uphold the president’s ability to fire civil servants who are actively working to undermine him.

I know I’ve said it before but being able to vote in the USA without being a citizen and having I.D. amazes me. On average they door knock and check the electoral rolls every five years in Australia.

I disagree with the premise federal workers should be told to work from home and then cut off IT access the next day. GSA has rented out numerous warehouses the can be fitted with desks and chairs. Order them to report there. Then cut off email and internet 50 minutes of every hour. Make sure to map out reporting distances from prior reporting offices. Make the new site to report to is 49 miles away (check the union (oughttoget rid of that permission) contracton distancesbefore relo comes into play.). Then if anyone is still around in a year repeat the process. The NOVA/beltway crowd will enjoy the new commutes.
Back in the 1980’s when I was in the Border Patrol out in west Texas, we would check the bus stations for illegals. On at least two occasions I apprehended groups of 6 to 8 illegals , at the San Angelo, Texas bus station. They were traveling back to Mexico from Oregon and Washington state, between election day and Christmas. (probably 80 or 84, I guess) Every alien had a voter registration card in his possession and in his name. Each alien told me that on election day a van drove thru the barrio picking up illegals and would pass out the voter cards and pay them( I don’t remember the exact amount, $40 or $50, it seems) to vote. People told them who to vote for and helped them vote if they needed it. After voting, the registration cards were supposed to be taken up but for some reason were not. I am sure that this has been going on constantly for the last 40 years and no telling how long before. Just the tip of the iceberg.
The Democrats have just gotten better at the Cheat in the last 4 or 5 Decades. Supposedly there are about 450,000 registered, non-citizens in the the
