Bullet Points:
** Tomorrow evening marks the winter solstice, and if you’re a pagan, I think that you’re obliged to run around the forest naked doing whatever pagans do. I’m not up on the whole pagan naked forest thing in the cold. Given the natural shrinkage problem, I don’t think your bayonet will be much good for thrusting. But I’m not a pagan, so maybe?
Running around naked among Arizona cactus can be a problem. The cholla (jumping) cactus is the worst. And your feet…cactus shed thorns. The rattlers should be hibernating, so you will have one less threat there.
The holiday strikes me as one destined to provide unfulfilled expectations. Even more than looking over unwrapped presents on Christmas morning. Clearly, more than December 26th.

** PaulM reminds us of what is going on in Colorado with the democrat justices on their Supreme Court. They fear President Trump’s return to office. Yes, there will be a massive write-in vote. Who will count the write-in votes?
** In 1979, Pres. Carter created the US Department of Education. Since then, America has fallen from the first to the twenty-fourth. The federal government couldn’t pour piss out of a boot.
** A Christmas wish?

** A word from your leader:
His father was Catholic, and he died in Delaware.
** Be without fear in the face of your enemies, be brave and upright that GOD may love thee…

The Last Word

IDA-
1. U.K. Avro 685 York C1
2. U.S. Navy Lockheed PV-2 ”Harpoon”
3. German JU-87 Stuka Dive Bomber
4. U.S.A.F. Fisher P-75 “Eagle”
5. U.S. Sikorsky R-4
I disagree with number 3, It is clearly Japanese.
Off to the camps with you….
#3 is a Stuka
but it’s face looks Japanese.
And the Stuka is definitely happy to see you.
When I see something like that Stuka’s face, I can’t help but wonder if that was deliberate or if it’s just something that some brains immediately see and others don’t.
We are programmed, after all, to recognize faces.
Anthropomorphism is baked into our DNA – as you suggest.
Reminds me of the “Happy Face” spacecraft in “Heavy Metal”..
HogsbreathSS, I don’t get up as early as Surly and you do. So here is my take:
1. British Ugly
2. Beautiful
3. Functional German beauty
4. American trying to emulate British Ugly
5. Too many moving parts
Dave, an engineer would NEVER say, “too many moving parts”.
I LIKE Dave’s approach!
Me too.
Like you’re take Dave.
Down here (Qld, Australia) it was a “cool” 90 degrees today compared to 100 (39 C) plus for most of last week.
Heat stroke and sunburn would be a major problem for pagans. Plus plenty of interesting poisonous plants if you don’t know what to look for.
Local record for summer is just over 122 (50 C) in 2017. Went to Vancouver, Canada three days later to 38 (3 C).
Pagans have two solstices each year to celebrate—one in the polar bear club and the other slathered with sunscreen. It seems to be important to them. I think that it would be boring.
Wait!…THREE…Burning Man is it’s own solstice.
It’s like a Pagan convention to be enjoyed without solstice. Rain and knee-deep mud ruined running around the desert naked this year. What a tragedy. They can make up for that this Yule by running around in snow and cactus thorns.
Burning Man is for Hollywood Pagans (also known as “ooh-ooh witches”) not real ones. It’s basically a decoy to keep the most annoying people away.
So, only two Solstices, but they get two Equinoxes, too.
– Kle.
Does that seem fair to you? FOUR high holy pagan days. It’s a lot like the POC holidays. MLK Day, Kwanzaa, and now Juneteenth.
Identify the Aircraft:
1. Avro York
2. Lockheed Ventura
3. Junkers Ju 87
4. Fisher P-75 Eagle

The Chisholm trail ran about 10 miles to the west of where I live. Jesse Chisholm died after he used some rancid bear grease to cook in. I would add that to the list of things the Pagans should be fearful of!
You’d have to be one of those people with a strong stomach to cook using rancid bear grease.
Colorado’s Dementors- I reminded my House Rep. that Trump was not ever charged with insurrection, the basis of their claim. As others have outlined (Sundance over at CTH) this asinine move by the unelected Black Robes supporting the Statehouse Dems will effectively guarantee Trump will be on the Primary ballot (the included stay clause).
Doubtful I’ll get a response to my scathing email to my House Rep., Ms. Amabile. Then again, as a Liberal Democrat, she might be running around naked in the woods doing important Gaia-honoring activities to save the planet from us. Too bad the bears are hibernating.
Another KoH quote…now I’m going to have to rewatch it…after Christmas as we’re working through that exceptional “not Hallmark” Christmas movie series, Diehard.
(P)regressives running wild. Vote Weld County, WY (if they will have us).
If I were Wyoming, I’d take you (and Banner) and the rest of your county as step-children. But I’m not, and Colorado doesn’t want to balkanize. Southern Colorado could choose to be annexed by Arizona, and we would welcome everything south of Boulder. Your gun laws would become the most free in America, and your taxes would decrease. There would have to be a caveat where the spoiled trust fund babies in Teluride would be denied citizenship.
Teluride, Aspen, Ouray, and Pagosa Springs also.
The Colorado ruling states that write-in votes for Trump cannot be counted.
Since this faux ruling is just for show and was never intended to be enforced (stayed if Trump appeals), I wish Trump wouldn’t appeal so the outrage over this stupidity would build.
I believe the Colorado Republican Party has said they will cancel the primary vote and hold caucuses if Trump is not allowed on the ballot.
Vivek is calling for a boycott with the other R candidates should it stand.
Colorado’s dipwad Dems just opened Pandora’s Election Box…they have no clue to the unintended consequences of their unlawful action.
It will sell popcorn.
The Prepper closet has plenty at the ready to be rotated thru and restocked.
The left has been doing everything they can to promote an actual insurrection.
They have been at it for a while. That way they can use the force of “law’ to gulag anyone that opposes the regime (J6th), including using the military.
They do have F-15s after all.
Sub “provoke” for “promote”
I don’t know Ed,
I think the original “promote” works well in this sentence.
If you go to Elon’s X and look at “Colorado”…
It appears that the soy crowd WANTS an insurrection as they assume they will win against the fat stupid knuckle draggin’ non-elites.
As someone who has been in Combat, I hope and pray they do not force the world to show them just how blind deaf and dumb they truly are…

X3 (all of the above)

Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-CA) also threatened cities in fly-over country with the use of nuclear weapons to eradicate centers of politically incorrect behavior.
Why hasn’t that guy been tossed?
He’s a wholly owned foreign subsidiary and, as such, is a valued asset to the Swamp. I can’t believe that the Republicans tossed him off the intelligence committee after Red China put so much money and effort into installing him there. I feel sorry for Fang Fang having to screw him for Communist China, but everyone has to do their part, right.
The Big Guy was a simple 10%, by comparison.
I just look at it as “Bring It On”. The gene pool needs a good dose of bleach once in a while.
“You know, after October 7th, my father — a father returned to his kibbutz” is the true quote.
That said, it still shows his propensity for inserting himself in the story.
He can’t help himself.
That and plagiarizing.
Oh, and being a tyrant.
Everything the Democrats are accusing We The People of doing is what they are doing, especially with this clown at the helm (who is not actually at the helm).
That “clown” as you call him is your leader, he’s good old Joe from Scranton. He’s commander-in-chief of America’s armed forces, leader of the free world, and he clearly doesn’t work for you, peasant.
Could he be replaced by John Fetterman without anyone noticing?
Obviously I need more reeducation to the dim bulb light.
Fetterman has changed gears, starting to sound, dare I say because I know he’s a massive Lefty (not a classic Liberal), conservative. His last two appearances (which oddly were a bit more coherent) showcased a different pattern, one I believe the Dems are giving ovation.
I’ve noticed that. What’s going on with him? Did he suddenly grow a conscience?
Maybe he’s taking Joe’s Special Chinesium Brain Function Sauce.
Winter:
If you are a weather guesser winter started on December 1st, which is the official start of winter for those who make incantations, burn up amazing numbers of ones and zeros in beautiful color coded displays, in their attempts to tell us what atmospheric conditions will prevail today or tomorrow.
LL has the correct answer for the pagans, let them run around the woods. Too bad a bear doesn’t tear their clothes to shreds and search their vehicles for Christmas snacks.
U Boats:
A really interesting and little known story about Germany supplying Japan with not only plans for advanced airplanes and V weapons but the actual products is told in Germany’s Last Mission To Japan: The Failed Voyage of U 234.
The bears are hibernating – more’s the pity. They could account for pagan attrition if only they could stay awake.
“The federal government couldn’t pour piss out of a boot”
With the instructions printed on the heel.
Yeah.
:)
There are places along the trail where you can still ‘see’ where the cattle went, due to the depressions tens of thousands of them created in the countryside.
Quite a large number of this blog’s visitors come from the area that is covered by the trail.
Abeline trail map; h/t L.L. Was there a railhead there? I didn’t Google rail lines to check. Seeing the map reminds me of a genuine autobiography by a trail hand. Regretting not making lists of the notable books I’ve read!
