It’s a slow news day for me. I’m saving up for the Sunday Sermonette tomorrow with a special on North Korea and China.
While I’m off in and out of the USA, trying to make the world safe for democracy, the work goes on at the White Wolf Mine. I’ll offer a few opinions before I give you an update on the mine.
In the matter of the Kate Steinle murder, The prosecutors in San Francisco could have explained to the jury about IMPLIED MALICE to the ignorant people who managed to get driver’s licenses (the jury pool) and weren’t clever enough to get out of jury duty and had plenty of time on their hands to sit through the trial…But, I’m told that they didn’t. I’m sure of liberal skulduggery since it’s San Francisco. It’s one of those wicked cities in a generally corrupt and wicked state of the Union (up there with Chicago and Detroit). The California progressives are heralding and trumpeting the acquittal of the murderer and are blagarding President Trump/bad-mouthing the nation. It’s what they do.
Frankly, it’s just another reason why I’m leaving the liberal scumbags behind. They can keep their progressive taxes and criminal illegal aliens.
Is it a tax cut? The Senate passed their version. The House of Representatives are likely to just vote the Senate Bill rather than to take it to a conference committee to pound out a compromise with the Bill that they passed. But is it a cut? It depends on who you talk to. I’m not sure.
On the photo above, you are looking from the edge of the upper level and there is a drop off that is indicated by darker vs lighter soil. Retaining walls will be built in addition to the footings above. Farther down hill, about 1/3 down from the top of the photo, you’ll note an old logging road. There is a connector road going in to the rear of the photographer that will allow you to get from the upper property to the mining road that leads to the lower property.

Looking good Boss!
It all takes time, Odie. I'm not a very patient guy, but I try to look as if I am.
Progress! Very good to see. I was surprised we made it out of Kommiefornia before you did, but then we weren't building from scratch.
Are they mixing the concrete there, or trucking it in?
They truck it in. I think that it comes from Flagstaff. There is a lot of concrete to the structure, and there was a lot for the footings.
You made your escape well before I did. I had thoughts of renting in AZ while the house was built, but needed to stay in CA a bit longer for the kids. It's ok, so long at there is a house finished in AZ next Summer.
It's coming along so slowly… I'm enjoying seeing it come together, but I want them to hurry up and finish, already. It's on my bucket list to see.
Now if Dad's house would just sell so I can get a new to me pickup & camper and be gone from Calif.
Yes, slow…like molasses in December.
Progress is progress! 🙂
A lot of the infrastructure and the 'bones of the building, that in this case are block and mortar and re-bar, take longer to put together. Once that is done, the framing and then the roof go a lot more quickly. Once it's sealed up and the finish work begins, and it looks like a house — I'll be much happier.
Your hovel will make you a legend in the area. Will your black art skills diminish your impact?
The Mine proceeds apace! Excellent result, now if we could just get Hillary behind bars all would be well with the world.
When do you expect the winter to arrive?
I expected the winter to arrive in the mountains before now. Last winter at this time there was snow on the ground. It was colder last year and they got up to 3 feet of snow on the level at one point. However the microclimate in this place always defaults to warm days (in the 50's, well above freezing) though much of the winter, so the snow melts. Farther north (about 60 miles) there is a slightly different climate and a popular ski resort. But even they haven't had real snow and have made snow on the slopes to attract skiers.
The black art skills are still there…
I'll turn off the television and Hillary will cease to exist for me.

OK, wasn't sure how close the nearest batch plant was. As long as it was mixed properly and the drum keeps turning, a truck ride doesn't usually hurt the concrete, at least in my experience.
Once my wife gets going, she's a force to be reckoned with, and once she decided we were leaving, it was a knock-down drag-out struggle, with much Strum und Drang.
If you ever get up this way, please feel welcome to drop in. We have more "guest rooms" than we know what to do with, and I'm sure Pebbles would enjoy seeing you again….
