If you’re reading this, you’ve survived Christmas. Congratulations are in order once you’ve cleaned up your mess and had your breakfast of leftovers.
Such is the low bar for the blog discussion today.

The Day After Christmas
It happened the day after Christmas, to sixty percent of the entire United States, all at 3:00 am Eastern time. How was this possible? Could it have been prevented? Of course it could if only we’d been aware of the danger. But we weren’t, we were fairly stupid as a country and as we quickly reminded, “stupid is as stupid does.”
I woke up early that morning to a cacophony of smoke detectors going off on both floors of our house. Dutifully, my wife Ellen and I ran to get the three kids, the dog, and the cat and safely made it out to the front yard. I immediately called 911 as we watched our house of nine years go up in flames, and then a remarkable thing happened. I looked down the street, and half the houses I could see were burning down in various stages. The 911 operator didn’t even answer; they were busy elsewhere.
Ellen looked at me with tears rolling down her cheek, and I hugged her. At least we had all gotten out. Later, I learned that over three thousand people died that day in our small town. And with that, we were at war.
I’m sure in a normal situation, you would ask, “War? What war?” It was not a normal situation and never would be again. We had laughed at Hezbollah when the Israelis simultaneously blew up their pagers and walkie-talkies. What a brilliant tactical move, and it was. But it was less funny when it happened to us. Nearly seventy million of us died that early morning, the day after Christmas, in a preventable fashion.
As you know, the Chinese sold us cheap power cords by the millions. All are designed to wait patiently for an activation signal sent across the power grid, a simultaneous signal that shorts the power cord and starts burning. And they burned all across the country.
Unfortunately, for the Chinese, some of us have a long memory, and a “Pearl Harbor” event doesn’t make us cower. Fortunately, it hasn’t devolved into an exchange of tactical nukes, though it may, but we’ve been at war with the Chinese along with our allies, South Korea, Japan, Australia, and the Philippines, for nearly a year now, and freedom is coming to the oppressed people in the PRC. We will persevere; we are Americans, and most of us still know that.
Big Questions – it’s the Day After – but it doesn’t mean we can’t ask.
There are significant ethical questions about whether we will modify the human germline. The scientific community has agreed not to do that. You can get everybody to sign the treaty, but that doesn’t mean everybody will adhere to it. But if we’re all looking at what we might do with CRISPR, that’s not where we need most of our attention. What’s going on now is a global experiment whose trajectory is unpredictable. We’ve not had a complete reconciliation of what that means.
FEMA
One federal agency that could face serious reform under the new Trump administration is the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). We’re giving FEMA about $33 billion of our tax dollars this year. The agency is often plagued by controversy, and multiple efforts have been made to reform it. But when Hurricane Helene struck last fall, the aftermath exposed an agency with a surprising political bias, and the mission of “equity” officially outranks disaster relief.

The morning after; there’s podcasters warning us of potential terrorist attacks. Not one full army going to war against another army. Just terrorizing, i.e. creating fear. Repercussions to these, like the twin towers, are #1 Full scale military operations like going into the green zone looking for WMD’s while the Cheneys and Haliburton make bank. #2 The legislation developments that resulted in forfeitures of civil liberties like the patriot act. Do Formations of more totalitarian control with NSA, TSA, ect… loom on the horizon as a result of cyber attacks, Power grid sabotage? Did the uniparty / deep state plan to let the Red side take the helm of our ship so the brainwashed blue side can point and scream their Kevin and Karen antics at the ” Orange man bad”?
For decades non-de-plume fiction authors such as Flowers warn us accordingly.
Are simple shortage problems with those big heavy boxes for computer battery backups, or smaller surge protector strips that can evade circuit breakers in the main panel, all coordinated with simple chips like what is used in our power meters possible?
It’s not just podcasts warning us. D.C. told the The national sheriff’s association,” You are on your own.” “We don’t have resources to help you.”
Why else would uncle Barry and big Mike fund the two movies, leave this world behind and civil war?
Deep State is capable of anything we can think of, and a great deal we cannot. Nukes, chem/bio, ethnic and/or political cleansing via death squads, the works. They’ve done it all before. Deep State bears allegiance only to Deep State and will not go quietly into that dark political night.
You cant more accurate a statement than that one. Well said.
X2…gotta tear it from their stained reprobate hands to the point where they’ll think twice about trying all this garbage again. This is a start…from the NYT’s of all places: “Hard-Right Freedom Caucus Takes Power in Wyoming” (first ever in the country) https://www.nytimes.com/2024/12/26/us/wyoming-freedom-caucus.html
If anyone who reads this blog thinks that ‘the permanent DC establishment/swamp” will be dismantled in four years, they should reconsider their position. We’ll see vast improvement during 47, possibly an end to the Barack and Big Mike Show. But power and money have a perfume all their own.
Weird air along that portion of the Potomac for sure…and a really great money machine, go in worth a few hundred thou, come out a multimillionaire. Not a gig anyone who heads there would willingly relinquish. Hear d a blurb today from a fill in host, The federal government had 5 departments/committees (if I recall what he said, was out on the tractor)…today, a gozillion all with budgets for “appropriating” We The Peoples cashola. That’s beyond wrong at every level. I go back to “Who died and left them in charge of everyone’s life?”
‘The Morning After”- Well now, after partaking in a good cup of Joe and some “leftover” O&H Bakery items I will start eliminating decorations, the extension corded lighted ones first. One can’t be too careful nowadays, tech is pretty sneaky.

Nah…all a bunch of hullabaloo and those of us “living rural” (or those with some sense of situational yellow-alert awareness) don’t wait for the Smokes to sound the alarm, we wake up at the slightest hint of smoke, real or perceived. The Chinesium cords can fire up at will and I’d be on them like flies on a fresh manure pile, even in Winter.
What is interesting this “day after yesterday” is got our State Farm “declarations” via email (actually yesterday…because AI never sleeps). Been with SF for 2 years after American Family colluded with Colorado’s Insurance Commish (purposeful Mafia reference there) and jacked everyone’s insurance up because of a Boulder County shed fire that got out of control, in December no less, and burned down 300+ homes in tight McStain PUD’s (if memory serves). Just reviewed my new policies (home and auto). Auto went down…as it should….But how the hay (polite version) does a Homeowners policy increase coverage by 2.6% but the Premium go up by 69%? Bait n Switch tactic to get me on board, then 2 years into the “relationship” they torque the premium back to where they want it. Needless to say the agent and I will be having a discussion over said math.

So yeah, Merry yesterday, not so much today (the unfeeling world does that to a person).

Oh, know of any property for sale around you, AZ…or MT and WY for that matter…are all looking better than Commie-Colorado after 40+ years. But hey, Mayor Goofball in Denver will fight APDJT’s Administrations deportation of ILLEGAL’s tearing/shooting up the place. Good for him, whatever floats his subversive boat (an EdB boating accident would be timely), except I’m getting tired of paying for Democrat foolishness while driving on lousy roads that I also pay for. Besides that, it’s past time to remove property taxes for those over 65, we should also gain a senior discount on everything, not just Jersey Mike’s…people should not be taxed or insured out of their homes. (There, I said it….now back to the O&H pastries.)

Enjoy “the kids”, and safe travels back to the rural hovel.
> Mayor Goofball in Denver
You inspired me to look up the Hon. Mayor Johnston. BA and JD from Yale, MEd from Harvard. High school teacher and later principal. Obama and Gore connections. Not a bad looking guy. And more to the point, practically the archetype of the non-minority leftist “face”. Probably not the (shiv-wielding) political operative type, nor the theorist/brains type, but the palatable-to-the-public Face they put forth to hold offices.
—
Hmm. That morphed from what I was planning to say, namely: “Do they grow these guys in vats or something?” Governor Trudeau (JHS teacher, not a bad looking guy), tragic suicide-victim Jeffrey Epstein (Dalton School, NABLG), and so forth.

Anyway, it occurs to me that the US (and the rest of the world) might be better off if we declared open season on, hell put a bounty on, anyone with a Harvard or Yale degree. What proportion of the influential Bad People have a Harvard or Yale degree? A LOT it seems to me. Expand that to a significant Harvard/Yale connection (such as being or having been on faculty, done a postdoc, etc) and it’s a huge proportion of the shitheads. (It’d be bad news for me personally, for PKG, and quite a few friends of mine for that matter, but the truth is that Harvard/Yale is almost certainly an independent predictor (in the statistical model sense) of society-wrecking shitheadedness.)
“In a world of change, the learners shall inherit the earth, while the learned shall find themselves perfectly suited for a world that no longer exists.” Harvard, Yale and the Ivy League are “learned” to the point of being a cliche.
They need to go broke.
I agree with Wild Wild West. The ‘war’ is just beginning… How long it will last? I don’t know…
yeah
we may well look back in a few and say that
Now
