Riots in Old Blighty
Britain has been rocked by riots and demonstrations as British citizens protest out-of-control illegal immigration. Pro-Palestinian groups have marched throughout the nation and engaged in violence against those they deem to be supporting Israel. The British police have cracked down – by arresting anyone posting online criticizing mass immigration, the Palestinian cause, or anything else of which the Labor government disapproves.
Per the British government, there are now dedicated teams of police officers “scouring” the Internet and identifying anyone posting anything deemed likely to stir up “racial hatred.” That translates to anyone criticizing approved leftist positions. At least 3300 individuals have been arrested on this basis already.
This may not be a good time for me to go to Old Blighty and organize a “draw Mohammed contest.” It worked out splendidly for the police in Texas, drawing in would-be terrorists to a central location and giving them the opportunity to send them on their way to paradise and waiting virgins.
There is no sign of this activity slowing down. On the contrary, the British police are doubling down on these tactics. They have now threatened to arrest American citizens in this country for online posts about the United Kingdom, of which they disapprove. Elon Musk has been threatened by name with arrest and extradition. By what authority Great Britain can now censor free speech worldwide remains unclear. If they did that and Musk shut down their access to Starlink, it might satisfy the British.
So far, the British have not threatened me personally, and I find that frigging OFFENSIVE! Who am I? Chicken soup? If I sponsored a turban break dancing competition by wanna-be Mohammeds, would it be accepted on the streets of London? I could reach out to Raygun in Australia and see if she would be willing to judge the dancers. If the participants are all ragheads, the British should find that acceptable. Maybe even desirable. We could call it “Spinning on the Rag” – or, in the alternative, just “On the Rag.” If Colonists (many of whom have their roots in the refugee industry) helped to bring people together in England, would it be viewed positively?
Jihawg Ammunition
ABC News: Jihawg Ammo, the company started by Brendon and Julie Hill of Coer D’Alene, Idaho, sells boxes of gun cartridges that are made with pork products and advertised as being a deterrent to potential terrorists who may not eat pork because of their religious beliefs.
“With Jihawg Ammo, you don’t just kill an Islamist terrorist, you also send him to hell,” the company said in a press release earlier this month. “That should give would-be martyrs something to think about before they launch an attack. If it ever becomes necessary to defend yourself and those around you our ammo works on two levels.”
Peace Through Pork
I haven’t approached anybody in the British Metropolitan Police, but even though Jihawg went out of business, I still maintain a stock of high-quality Jihawg ammunition, guaranteed to put a little ham in Mohammed—as they say. I’d be willing to sell said ammunition to the HM Government to be applied as needed. Do I need an export license? Would King Charles give me permission to sell directly to the British Public, who seem to need this particular product?
American Gun Violence – Dissected
“Gun violence” is a misleading term that doesn’t highlight core issues surrounding firearm deaths.
- Available data indicates a decrease in firearm-related injuries and death. Between January 1 and May 1 of 2024, there were 10,674 firearm-related deaths and injuries in 2024, with only 5,847 firearm-related homicides* (See the last paragraph below).
- Firearm-related homicides occur at an average rate of 4.6/100k people, while firearm suicides occur at a rate of 7/100k annually.
- States with lower rates of gun ownership have more homicide-related gun deaths, while states with higher rates of gun ownership have higher suicide-related gun deaths.

*If you remove black-on-black homicide numbers from the gun violence stats, the actual numbers are very small. Doing that is considered to be racist, but it’s a fact. I find it interesting that democrat mayors and politicians find it useful that black people keep slaughtering each other in the inner cities. One could suggest a cynical motive for that – and moves to defund the police to keep the crime rate high.

** Ghost Towns—there are many in Arizona. The peak of population growth may have been reached in Jerome during the summer of 1929. People still live there, and there are several active mines. In this case, I think the ghost town label was applied to attract visitors through early click-bait. It’s an interesting city to navigate with several authentic “old west” aspects to the narrow streets on the side of a mountain – but it’s a tourist trap. Motorcycle groups, car clubs, and so forth go there from the Phoenix Valley looking for something to do and see.

I used to love watching the FLANG OV-10s and AT-37s fly out of then-Patrick Air Force Base. Two of my favorite small aircraft. The OV-10s would have fun doing STOL maneuvers. And got to watch one fly with the tail door-cone flapping in the breeze.

Stupid that we went with the Tucano rather than the OV-10X. The up-powered Bronco would carry more munitions, have room for more sensors or a small jump team or supplies or casualties, have better visibility, have two engines, had a proven battle damage resistance. But, no, stupid Tucano.
The 3rd Special Operations Wing at Clark AB, Philippines operated some OV-10 Broncos. They were fun to watch buzzing around, but most especially when they came in low and fast, then pulled steeply up, and a short stack of parachutists “fell” out the back on static line. Damn, but I miss seeing F-4s, F-15s, F-16s, and even some Hawker Hunters from Singapore at times. Now all I see are airliners and small private planes.

How was the vacation?
After 30+ years visiting resort towns with the better half, they all seem the same. However she was happy and I got through almost three books.
Welcome back Surly. Yes, they all seem very much the same and they all sell similar soon-to-be-landfill that you can take home as a moment of your visit. Keeping MRSSURLY happy is critical and chopping through three books makes the change of scenery worth it, I guess.
Try as I might, I could not find a link to Jihawg Ammo. Apparently they closed their doors in 2015…….Very sad.
It appears that Jihawg Ammo may have gone out of business, but y’ can always keep your magazines loaded with Liberty Ammunition Civil Defense 10mm Auto dipped in the bacon grease can y’ keep under the sink.

I don’t know how much pork fat is required to keep mohammedans out of paradise. Is there any reference material on the subject? There was a point in time during my military days when we threatened to bury them with a pig carcass and that was enough to get them talking. Today that might be considered unethical. Then, no.

Boats: We sold our fast boat 10 years ago. It was fun, but we always came back sore. Now a days I just putter on a 60 hp pontoon twice a week. I works for smoking (pipe london flake), drinking and a little fishing. It only uses 30 gallons a year vs 30 gallons a run. Good for sunrise and sunsets. I can take it up river beyond all civilization and cell coverage just like Apocalypse Now. There are cows in the houses with 6 foot mud lines, floating sheds, back hoes stuck in the mud waiting on the river to take them. The river always wins when it goes up 26+ feet.
The pontoon boat sounds idyllic.
Great on waters that don’t get stroppy, like over 3′ waves. Comfort and safety drop as the waves increase in heights.

Boats. I am amazed at how much fuel a wake boat uses in comparison with a regular fishing boat. I know the wake boat is pushing a lot of water but darn those things suck fuel. I will stick with my old kayak fueled by beef jerky and energy drinks.

Jihawg Ammo. Interesting idea. I used to put fluids in my hollowpoints, just experimenting. Mercury and water had interesting results, especially in the faster rounds. I guess if worse came to worse I could just shove some bacon bits in a hollowpoint, seal it with wax and call it good.

President Trump’s to do list. The only point I disagreed with was rebuilding the cities, including WA DC. Don’t think that one is doable without a couple of trillion in graft here or there.
Jerome is a nice one-day tourist trap, though the now-ex-wife and I spend a weekend in the Jerome Grand Hotel (no ghosts spotted) and a Verde Canyon train ride (first time seeing bald eagles in the wild.
Sedona is a total money pit. Pepto-Bismol Jeep tour was done in a HMMWV/H1 with third-row seat.
Bisbee is another old ghost town/mining town, now an artist community.
Here in Northwest Nevada, lots of old ghost towns as well. Virginia City is really fun. IMHO, much better than I remember Jerome being.
Boats, like airplanes, side-by-side UTVs, and RVs, become money pits. Name and price your poison accordingly.
Ammunition choices? Whatever gets the job done most expeditiously. DU seems to do the job nicely, especially in the larger calibers. However, a “little bucket of sunshine” always takes the cake in the ammo-wars.

I think that Nevada has more interesting ghost towns than Arizona’s. Ours take tourist trap to an extreme.
