I didn’t stop. Now, I regret it.

I seem to be drawn to bad advice.
Bullet Points:
** Hollywood is on strike. Who cares?
** A Canibal CME will hit us today. SiG shares the info. A Cannibal CME is actually two CMEs spaced in time and in speed so that the second one is faster than the first, and overtakes it, “eating” it. The result is a bigger cloud of plasma moving in (more or less) the same direction.
** The paramedics were working on some guy at Ocean Beach (San Diego) near the pier. As a mildly interested yet distant bystander who was on his way to Hodad’s to get a hamburger, I stopped to watch for a moment. Some idiot began interfering with the medics by reciting an incantation to turn the fallen beach visitor into a zombie. I asked another gawker who looked like a local what was going on. He confirmed, “He’s trying to make the dead guy into a zombie.” I asked, “Has this happened before?” The other gawker said, “Oh yeah, all the time.” I probed, “Has it worked in the past?” The guy seemed disappointed, “No, not so far.” San Diego PD arrived and hooked up the warlock for something. – file this report under California lifestyle.
** If you can’t make it, fake it – Just call him the librarian-in-chief. In yet another gross abuse of executive authority, President Joe Biden is wielding the power of his Department of Education to stop parental efforts to remove sexually explicit books from public school libraries.
It’s his latest in a string of moves meant to bully parents and other concerned citizens into silence when it comes to what kids learn in public schools and, in this case, when they should be exposed to sexually explicit material. But the notion that the federal government has any authority to veto a school district’s decision to protect students from pornographic content belongs in the library’s fantasy section.
** Assisted Suicide in Canada – “At least 13,581 patients died while waiting for surgeries, procedures, and diagnostic scans,” the report says. “This year’s total is up from last year’s total of 11,581.”
The delays were “anywhere from less than a month to over eight years.” In most instances, “the number of patients who died waiting for a diagnostic scan was significantly higher than the number of patients who died while waiting for surgery.”
But the good thing is that if you grow tired of waiting for treatment in Canada, they’ll kill you for free.
** Save the Climate but you die? VEEP Kamela (Ho) Harris tells you that you can’t make an omelet without breaking a few eggs. Reduce the population so more children can breathe better — there’s that patented Kamala Harris illogic. Her concern for the children who survive the Democrats’ abortion gauntlet that Harris so vocally champions is truly touching.
** Pedo Joe filed papers with the Federal Election Commission showing that he’s not spending any money to date on his re-election beyond basic filing fees and basic legal expenses. I said to myself, “Why should he spend ANY money?”

Identify the Aircraft

2

For additional points, what was this aircraft’s nickname (in German)?
It featured a monocoque fuselage built with an outer skin of two layers of thin plywood strips at an angle to each other (known as a Wickelrumpf, or “wrapped body” design). This had both lower drag and better strength per weight than typical of the time, but it was relatively slow and expensive to build. (This approach was further developed in the de Havilland Mosquito of World War II.) Struts and wires were reduced, without suffering the weight penalty of cantilever wings. Some attempt was made to fair the wings into the fuselage, to eliminate dead air space, a feature prominently missing from the Schneider Trophy contestants of the following decade.

2. LFG Roland C.II known as the Walfisch (Whale)
3. Vultee A-31 Vengeance

3. Vultee A-35 (so close, but no brass ring)
A Cannibal CME will hit us today.
If only Gates had gotten his solar shield up sooner!
I have a new roll of heavy duty tin foil…I’m good.
The end is near.
It would have to hit on my birthday… at least with all the candles we will be able to see our way to the exits.
Happy Birthday!
One more time around the Sun, CME notwithstanding
X3… Soon I’ll be able to.cook some brats over the cake candles.
“Why should he spend ANY money?”
I’m curious now as to how much he spent last time.
85M votes don’t come cheap.
“The president’s (Trump’s) campaign committee finished September with $63.1 million in its coffers, compared with the Biden team’s $177.3 million cash on hand, according to new filings with the Federal Election Commission late Tuesday evening.”

Next time, Pedo Joe will have more votes than total voters – for the win.
The NEA is yet another in at least a dozen that are money pits and completely useless. When they have used up billions of taxpayer monies and education (or energy, or…or…) has gone downhill feom 1960, and schools have turned into Maoist camps, time to eliminate them.
What we are witnessing is exactly how dictators are born. Pure tyranny.
Sidebar: Another massive train wreck near Philly yesterday. Petey – our gay boy chief of transpo – has said nothing. A normal person would look within and say to themselves, Things have gone to crap since I took over, maybe I should pass the baton to a person who actually knows what they’re doing. i stead we get, No worries, this happens all the time and road are racist.
So, no, agree with Ed, Mr Swiss Cheesed Brain doesn’t need any money except to pay Dominion and the same usual suspects to jack the election system and media shills.
How many of SDPD’s finest showed up to deal with the warlock? I happened to be in the “Sierra Trading Post” in Lebanon, NH on Sunday (pit stop to urinate, plus I got some nice wool socks on sale 😀) when a bunch of cops showed up. I saw five policemen and there were four police vehicles outside. Apparently all this was to arrest a single goofy looking white guy in maybe his late 30’s. The goofball was quite docile. Each of the cops was squared away and all looked physically fit. Got me wondering why so many cops to deal with one guy who looked like a seedier version of that Sam Bankman-Fraud person. Is Lebanon a sleepy town and they were just bored and looking for something to do, or is it actually a bad place and they need that many tough-looking cops. Hmmm. (I’ve heard that St Johnsbury, VT, not far away, looks like the classic little New England town, but it has become a drug distribution nexus with lots of bad people both passing through, and increasingly, setting up shop.)
Two units, two police officers were enough to take the warlock into custody.
Harkening back to my police days, a call went out at Tower Records (Beach and Lincoln, near Knott’s Berry Farm). I worked at Anaheim PD. Buena Park was across the street – for reference. The dispatcher put out – 107, 109 (I was Unit 107) “See the manager at Tower Records, customer complaining that he has cocaine in his ass.” The customer was screaming that he needed to get the cocaine out of his colon. He’d swallowed a number of balloons for the purpose of transporting it. The manager gave him vice grips and an industrial size jug of soap to lubricate the process. I recall the call because we had nearly a dozen cars show up. Buena Park PD (different frequency) saw the activity and five or six ended up parked in front of Tower Records. I ended up arresting the guy, and the Paramedics transported him to the hospital at Beach Blvd and Ball Road for removal so he wouldn’t die.
My point is that sometimes it depends on the way the call is put out. Guys/gals show up just to see what’s going on.
At Anaheim, I received a call once – 925 Dragon (Suspicious dragon). I arrived with Bob Raulston (later killed in the line of duty) we got out of the car and a 6′ pet monitor lizard was there. We jumped up on the car as it circled. Some of them have venom. Animal control showed up to contain the beast. But a number of cars showed up then too because of the nature of the call.
Likewise, once a call came out that a woman had a python stuck in her vagina. The fire department rolled on that one but I was first on the scene and sure enough, a 5′ python was being used by two lesbians as a sex toy, it bit down, the non-entered lesbo tried to pull it out and the other one started a heavy bleed and later died. There was blood EVERYWHERE and we had a fair number of officers show up to that one too.
Your memoir is gonna be such a great read.
Truth is stranger than fiction.
Oh my god! Was the python okay?
Bit of morning gallows humor there. Sorry. Sort of. I’ve never had to deal with a rectal foreign body (“RFB” in the emergency medicine literature), but a high school buddy who ended up an emergency doc in Chicago (at a “nice hospital” for rich people, mostly) has tons of stories. Not so much about the RFB, but the made up stories about how the object ended up in the butt. His most memorable patient was wheeled into the ER, facedown on a gurney with about 2 feet of curtain rod (cut by the FD) sticking out his butt. Patient was draped with a sheet, but talk about “pup tent” effect. The patient was memorable because he looked Dave in the eyes and said, “I’m not going to give you some story about why I have a curtain rod stuck in my ass. I screwed up. Please help me.” He got major points from the ER staff for his honesty.
The Fire Dept cut most of the snake off, killing it – eventually, I guess – in an effort to make it unlatch. Additionally, the blood-slick python was writhing around making treatment difficult.
These things make their way to the ER and staff there is witness to a lot, but there is something to be said for first responders being faced with the scene.
I was in uniform, and assigned to watch a homicide scene in a hotel room the Inn at the Park near Disneyland. The detectives left the scene, the coroner took the. body. Knock at the door. I opened it and a tall blonde female took one look at me and ran. Not knowing if she was somehow involved with the murder, I tackled her in the hallway and hooked her up. I searched her and found a handgun (strike two). She lied about who she was (strike three). I called for back-up to watch the crime scene while I dealt with her. Long story short, she was a call girl, dispatched to the HOLIDAY INN – same room number and went to the Inn at the Park by mistake.
I don’t know why that last story came to mind. Many years, many venues, many stories.
Twist on the python case – was the death accidental or was it a homicide? Detectives learned the dead partner had a multi-million dollar life insurance policy with the live one as beneficiary.
Eventually, the insurance company paid out on the policy.
I feel sorry for that poor prostitute. ☹️ Seriously. I did something like that years ago (no, not selling sex, the address thing) when I first moved out to Boston. I made an appointment to see an apartment on “123 Walnut St”. I grew up in a small city sitting by itself, not dozens of towns all mashed together, where seemingly each town has not only a Main St, but also Walnut, State, High, Maple, you get the idea. So I wait for an hour outside 123 Walnut in Cambridge (this was pre ubiquitous cell phone era), while the landlord was fuming at 123 Walnut in Somerville. Sigh.
Here is a classic from the surgery literature involving an eel and some Chinese guy (he survived, the eel did not — and it was DELICIOUS #tishboom):

As to first responders, yeah absolutely. I said something to that effect one night when we were bitching about some horrible mess in the ER. “Sure this is bad, but at least we’re clean (so far) and safe dealing with this in here. Imagine being where this happened, trying to get this guy prepped for transport.”
But I do recall a colleague’s story about her “low moment” in medical school (Hahvud, natcherally). “So it’s 3am and this other student and I are manually disimpacting* this morbidly obese guy. He’s on his side and so fat one of us has to hold up the top buttcheek while the other one digs. The smell is horrible. We look at each other and he says, ‘Oh, God. I just realized we’re PAYING to do this!’ I almost quit right there.” Lucky for her they don’t wheel The Bell around in Harvard Med because she would have rung out.
*manual disimpaction is the polite term for digging poop out of someone’s rectum using your fingers.
There’s rectitude, and then there’s wrecktitude. Neither (usually) involves the rectum, but in California…
In California…
I saw suspicious activity around a parked car. I forget the make but it was one where the front passenger seat could swivel to the right and allow the passenger to step out that way. Circa 1984 maybe. Corinthian leather seats. I approached the car from the curb side rear and saw a mirror with white powder on the dash. As I approached the car, a white male, near the passenger door put a “snow seal” – paper bindle used to contain cocaine, put the bindle into his mouth.
I grabbed him by the throat to keep him from swallowing it. 3K1, backup unit with a K-9 reached into the subject’s mouth after I beat his head on the side of the car a few times, grip still on his throat, and removed. the snow seal. He opened the seal and it contained white viscous fluid. They were homosexual males and one was preserving the issue of the other to use as “chewing cum”.
3K1 got the fluid on his hands and reacted with revulsion. Both subjects had outstanding warrants and were arrested and transported for that reason rather than for suspicious activity. There wasn’t enough powder on the mirror to make a dope case.
You can’t make this up or unremember it.
+1 on the memoirs, they will be epic. Stories like that make me happy that my life was relatively uneventful. A few weird things happened but strangeness was not an everyday occurrence.
From my days at the mental not-prison (can’t be a prisoner if not-guilty by reason of insanity) and, no, not as a patient but as a watcher, a small skinny frail-looking dude on drugs or with organic brain syndrome (holes in the brain due to rot caused by syphilis and AIDs) can easily toss around 4-5 guards that look like ex-high school or college or even NFL level football players.
So, if the call warrants it (dangerous person, history of resisting, Jan6 Rally goer) the PD/Sheriff Department will send out as many as they can get.
One of the funniest and saddest things I saw when working at the local PD as a civilian, not an LEO, was some 400lb gorilla just pick up and toss around the 120lb fully equipped female officer. Oh, yeah, she’s gonna stop King Kong on a rampage, Or Little Joe on drugs. Yep. Sure.
Never ever ever doubt the ability of even a weak-looking homo sapien to go all ape-shit and to express strength and endurance far outside their visible class range. I’ve done it myself, when faced with a horde of knights and me holding a narrow door at an SCA event. Fear and adrenaline can amp one up way past one’s normal ability.
And, again, toss in drugs or fubar’d brain and the zombie is strong in that one.
A cousin, retired SCPO (Shore Patrol) ran for, an was elected, to the school board in his Texas town. Even in Texas the bulls**t being forced on schools is pervasive. That motivated him to run. Recently we had the opportunity to chat. Maybe if enough patriots are elected to school boards some of this garbage can be stopped.
Sadly the DEA and the fed control on funds is what will sway many school boards and keep them under the thumb of the evil ones.
A lot of good reading here today, LL. Thank you.
You all be safe and God bless.

Just saved a person from assisted suicide in Canada. DEAR LORD, that we’ve come to this. Such utter iniquity.
Please destroy Hollywood. Thx.
Wifman worked the ER in a community with a large population of gay folk.
RFB of many sorts had to be surgically removed.
Ban roll on bottles were a frequent offender.
Another favorite were Barbi doll heads: the record was seventeen.
Ask her about the suicides amongst the Gays. Rates are far higher than even among sad cat ladies. Seriously.
As to the removal of objects, wife got to watch one procedure where a can of Vienna Wieners had to be removed. The doc had to pop the can open and slide out each sausage then collapse the can. All while making comments like, “Where’s the mustard?” “Anyone have crackers?”
The live 3′ rat snake from some girl’s uterus and the 2′ dead rat snake from some guy’s exit hole were also big ‘hits’ on the Gotta Laugh or Else parade.
People are just crazy, made crazier by allowing them to be crazy.
Oy, gevalt! You just don’t see these things in cardiology. The weirdest thing I had (after general internal medicine residency) was a black guy with “raccoon bite to the groin”. This turned out to be a misunderstanding of “I got bit by a ra-kloose”. As in brown RECLUSE spider.
The Vienna guy answered the question of “one big wiener or seven little wieners?”
Ban deodorant is news to me. A surgeon friend was present in the OR when they took out a cylindrical object (in a tied off opaque condom) from this young guy’s ass. The patient was under general anesthesia in anticipation of an open surgery (but they decided to try removal per rectum once more after the patient was unconscious and completely relaxed — and it finally worked) so he couldn’t tell them what it was. A resident started to cut away the condom with the electrocautery. The attending surgeon grabbed his hand, saying, “use a blade.” The scalpel revealed the object was a butane gas cylinder for a camp stove. Prolly not the thing to take an electrocautery to. 🙄
A butane gas cylinder?
Maybe he had some sort of fart envy going on? I’m not a psychiatrist, so won’t go much further with that. Some deep-seated problems
17 Barbie doll heads?
It’s definitely a ‘California’ thing… Hope you enjoyed the lunch at Hodads!
Lunch was great, Hodad’s was packed. The event happened on the ocean side of that public parking lot south and west of Hodads.
Many years ago, an actual practicing ‘witch’ tried to cast a spell on me and mine. She quickly uncast and ran away when I told her that I was Roman Catholic and we have only one way to counter evil spells, that is, the old fashioned way, as in killing the witch. I then asked her how she wanted to die? BBQ? Beheading and quartering? Drowning? Being pulled apart by livestock and fed to pigs? (All medieval ways of dealing with said Wicca and non-Christian spellcasters.)
The same methods could easily be used against the Zombie Masters. Heck, it was right on the beach, conk him on the head and toss him off one of the piers on a drawing tide. The Teeth People would take care of him…
Too many witnesses for the standard treatment and the police were there to nab him, intervening on his behalf. Alas, no pigs to feed him to, but there may have been flesh-eating zombies present in mufti who could have managed that. I can’t say.
My now deceased mother in law was walking through a park in. Buenas Arias she was confronted by a gypsy woman begging for money. Nona invited her to church , offered to pray with her but refused a donation. Nona was obviously pregnant and the gypsy woman cursed her and said “your new baby will be a girl” Nona said “ praise God I have 3 boys already “ My wife is the result of a gypsy curse.
So it worked out.
Otherwise, you’d have married a dude, and would have ended up on a Bud Light can – thanks gypsies.
