5-5=Cinco de Mayo

Blog Post

Today America celebrates the Mexican victory over the French at Puebla in 1862.

Yes,  it’s an important day in the American Southwest (primarily) where Cinco de Mayo is actually celebrated. It’s culturally important to recognize the day in many places even though the Battle of Puebla was even somewhat insignificant at the time.

French troops under the command of Charles de Lorencez failed in their attempt to storm the forts of Loreto and Guadalupe situated on top of the hills overlooking the city of Puebla.

The French fell back, reorganized, and then later took the city, and marched on Mexico City. Some lament the French occupation of Mexico (and Vietnam) but I point out that the French influence brought about an improvement in the food that we continue to enjoy today on Cinco de Mayo in Arizona, California, New Mexico, and Texas.

Bullet Points:

** CDR SALAMANDER on the US Naval War College. As mentioned in an e-mail to Claudio, I heard from friends in the special warfare community that the navy hosted a mandatory gender diversity training where an odious tranny showed up with a selection of dildos and trained them on how to give a guy a better blow job. The exodus of trained people continues despite generous retention bonuses. It’s the same at JSOC. Those of us who hire the best of the best are getting some really qualified people that the government dumped millions of training dollars into.

** Trannies will kill to use a woman’s restroom. Jay is a man who pretends to be a woman (and, more conveniently, a lesbian), and Jay felt perfectly comfortable threatening people with guns just a few weeks after a female transvestite murdered six people at a Nashville Christian school.

** VDH – The New Ugly Americans

** Ireland and Hate Speech – a good article from American Thinker.

** Cleopatra? Hollywood still insists that she was a negro…

Cleopatra lived chronologically closer to the first Moon landing than the construction of the pyramids. In fact, when the pyramids were built, mammoths still roamed parts of Siberia.

CLEOPATRA VII PHILOPATOR (70 BC – 30 BC), the last ruling PHARAOH OF EGYPT.

    1. Saw that…infuriating.

Question I have is how do I stop paying Federal taxes to starve the tyranny so much they run out of OUR money to pay for the locust swarm to come here, well fed with multiple vouchers and free cell phones and WiFi? Damned if we do, damned if we don’t…not what The Founders had in mind.

      1. They’ll take what you have and imprison you in a work if you’re healthy enough to work. If not, Soylent Green

        1. “Camp Enlightenment” might be less on the To Do list than I’m used to..a gov’t gift horse. Win, win.

      2. how do I stop paying Federal taxes

End tyranny with one simple trick: lead 10 million of your friends to stop funding them all at the same time.

  1. I am glad our illustrious leaders don’t go semi-topless… I understand Mexico celebrates Sinko de Mayo when the Titanic went down with a hold full of French Mayonnaise destined for them.

    1. Cleo had an agenda.

The Congressional “hotties” would make you lose your lunch if they walked around unclothed.

  2. Cinco De No Thanks (or in the Danish ‘Nej Tak’)…did my “cultural appropriation” Tuesday at the local Mexican restaurant…told them to “hold the mayo” (Or was that Jersey Mike’s?, can’t be sure as weekly events are starting to run together).

      1. ** CDR SALAMANDER-
Funny you mentioned that because some of my brothers from JSOC that said the same thing. Been on the phone and in meetings all day because of this treasonous behavior. It’s a complete betrayal of the oath or oath’s we took in my opinion. Also have solid intel that one hundred Marine Colonel’s throughout are all due to EAS or resigning their commissions however the FJB administration is holding their orders up or obscene
        re-up money!

Thanks for the Keen recommendation from a whole back. Bought a pair of Keen Newport H2 closed toe. Extremely comfortable and durable. Taking them to Montana w/me.

      2. No mayo on any Mexican food I think…what would be the point. The waiter missed my semi-humorous inference.

  3. Best name for May 5th I’ve ever heard is “drinko de gringo”

  4. Always liked the A5, even had a model,b ought with my own hard earned money, back when I was a kid. Never a fan of the B-28 nuke it carried. That bomb was an absolute pig to work on. Weren’t a few of them converted to three engines and used for recce?

War College. The same thing is going on at all of the service branch PME. We are killing ourselves from within.

Cleopatra. Never let facts get in the way of an agenda. On the other hand the costume looks cool. Ideal for a hot desert climate.

    1. In 1964, all the Vigilantes were reconfigured as reconnaissance aircraft and designated RA-5C. Reconnaissance gear was mounted in what had been the Vigilante’s bomb bay.

Designers started playing around with the 3 engine concept. The NA-247 Retaliator concept from around 1960 was to have an XLR46-NA-2 rocket engine replacing the bomb bay of the A3J-1.

Then came the NR-349, which was studied (3 engine A-5C/A3J-1) The proposal never made it past upper management because it would’ve required a redesign of the forged and massive spindle frame that included the spindles for the all-moving tail surfaces. Any change in engine size would’ve impacted this and upper management refused to go there. Besides J58-powered versions, this also impacted some that had been studied with J93s.

The NR-349 would have carried AIM-54 (Phoenix) long-range carrier defense missiles. The Vigilante was large enough to have sustained a conversion to carry either the AN/AWG-9 or (later Digital) AN/APG-71 radar systems but they ended up on the F-14 Tomcat.

  5. Drinko de mayo / sinko de drinko: I can’t imagine the French could have done a worse job with the place than the Mexicans… although we probably would have had to fight a couple wars with the French.

Ireland: Just because the English spent a few centuries stomping on the faces of the Irish, doesn’t mean that the Irish, left to their own devices, are nice people either.

Cleopatra (a): I don’t think Egypt had access to fabric that sheer, in period.

(b): I have begun referring to the the current Woke fantasy Cleopatra as “Blackula”.

    -Kle.

  6. That mandatory bj training, that’s a “This is a no shitter” story like like you heard in the old days? I hope…

    1. It’s cultural awareness Rob and it’s happening in all of the services. It’s not a fish story.

  7. A-5s look pretty and were fast, but riding in the ‘back seat’ was no fun, especially if the pilot didn’t tell you what was coming… Those little windows DON’T give you any SA at all. I got .6 in one on a maintenance hop as the ‘sandbag’ in the back, and it scared the crap out of me because the pilot never said s**t about where he was on the FCF checklist.

    1. Hmm, didn’t think of that but pilots are a sneaky breed with a low sense of humor. Especially pilots of fast movers.

  8. Don’t care about a relatively insignificant battle between two relatively insignificant nations. And only came out as a marketing campaign.

    Don’t care. DO NOT CARE!

What’s next, celebrating 3,300 Mehicans beating 62 French Foreign Legionnaires? (Me, I celebrate the 62 standing up to over 33 hundred Mexicans. Not that I care about France, but for the 62 who stood like lions, like demons, against so many. Talk about real men of action.

As to Cleopatra as a mick, I mean, Irish? Come on, man. Think more Mia Varados than that red-headed wench. Black hair, light olive skin, big nose. Lots of actual photo-realistic sculpture exists of Cleo and her Nose and boobs and other mentionables and unmentionables.

Though the lovely young lady portrayed, well, as my mongol friend (mongol in thought, and real mongols acknowledge him as a ‘good mongol,’ no, really) would say, “I’d do her.” Me, I’m married and my wife like knives so I’ll just shut up and not express my feelings…

    1. The Battle of Camarón which occurred over ten hours on 30 April 1863 between the Foreign Legion of the French Army and the Mexican Army, is regarded as a defining moment in the Foreign Legion’s history. It eclipses the “tequila holiday” of May 5 completely.

      1. Flogging the living dung out of the Mexicans is a defining moment, and a point of pride.

Kind of like the Battle of the Alamo. Last stand against unimaginable odds. Beat your victors so hard that it puts the fear of God and Man back into them.

At least the Mexican commander at Camaron wasn’t an insane a-hole like Santa Ana.

  9. LL, such raciness!

And yes, Cleopatra posts are good posts.

That aside, is there no one in command to stop this? Maybe, heaven forfend, and I mean that seriously, it’ll take a war.

    Dear God.
