Even though they look awesome and very capable, I understand that they broke down or were damaged in battle faster than they could be repaired or replaced in the Iraqi Theater. I’ve heard that they’re being phased out and will be replaced by the IVECO Panther, which has better armor protection. When that day comes and the Land Rover is no longer the Royal Army/Royal Marine light vehicle of choice, an era will have passed but the legacy will remain.
