From the Mailbag
Q – Do you think that you’re being too hard on the British?
A – No. If anything, I’m giving too much of a pass. They have swallowed every woke lie on every single topic as a nation, and they are circling the drain. I have lived in the UK on a semi-permanent basis and have wonderful friends there, including my dear friend and co-author, Jules Smith. LSP is an American and the son of Americans, but he lived in Old Blighty for quite a while. He’s a dear friend. My observations of American politics are no less biting. Had Kamala-the-Whore been elected president, we would be involved in a Civil War in America, and it would not have been pretty. America is slowly crawling from the pit it fell into, and the British are digging for the Earth’s core. The new 007. Bond, Singh Bond. What did Queer Kier Starmer have for dinner last night? Five Guys. – Yeah, like that.
Q – From LSP – Why don’t you go back to Baghdad now?
A – Because I don’t want to be assassinated. Or kidnapped, tortured, and then assassinated.
Bullet Points:
** Iranian drone carrier IRIS Shahid Bagheri, and the IRIS Makran, Iran’s largest naval vessel and a multipurpose “base ship” also used as a drone carrier, were destroyed. Originally a tanker, the Makran was equipped with a large helideck and served as a forward logistics base for the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC). One can only hope that it took a large number of IRGC Marines down with it, even though it was docked at Bandar Abbas when it was hit.
** An Iranian sailor who was killed when the warship Dena was struck by the US near Sri Lanka had called his father shortly beforehand, saying American forces had issued two warnings for the crew to abandon the vessel, a source close to the family told Iran International. The commander of the Iranian navy warship refused to allow the crew to abandon Dena despite the imminent threat, the source added. The sailor’s father said some crew members argued with the commander, and the 32 crew members who survived were mainly sailors who managed to escape on lifeboats, according to the source.
** Negotiation in Australia
** China sold Iran its latest CM-302 supersonic anti-ship missiles. They didn’t work. When Iranian forces launched them at U.S. Navy warships, the missiles either missed outright or were intercepted before they could reach their targets. The much-touted Chinese HQ-9 and sophisticated Russian air-defense systems guarding Iranian bases proved equally ineffective.
** IRGC Quds Force commander Esmail Qaani is confirmed safe in Israel. He played a key role in the elimination of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh, Hezbollah leaders Nasrallah and Safieddine, and the elimination of Khamenei and top IRGC generals.
** After the Russian and Chinese military crap was found not to work in Iran and Venezuela, do you really think that the Chinese want to invade Taiwan? Is WW3 more likely now or not? There’s no BRICS anymore, by the way. And China’s One Belt and Road Initiative, which they spent $1 trillion on, collapsed everywhere, but Iran —- doesn’t go to Iran anymore.
** Hell froze over. Creepy Pedo Joe Biden told the truth for once. Joe Biden tells predominantly black crowd at Jesse Jackson’s funeral, “I’m a HELL of a lot smarter than most of you!”
** Does your wife allow you to watch the US invasions of Venezuela and Iran in peace?
** Matt Walsh: Something like 70 to 75 percent of Americans are never arrested in their lives. Another 20 to 25 percent are arrested once, usually for a minor offense. Almost all of the arrests, especially for violent crimes, are coming from about 5 percent of the population. If all of these people were just thrown in a cage forever and forgotten about, the rest of us could live in peace. That’s a fact. You could essentially solve the crime problem almost completely by arresting the tiny minority of the population that commits virtually all of it. Instead, we let them roam the streets, continually release them back into the public, and watch helplessly as they kill, rape, and destroy, even though nobody on Earth can explain why this system makes sense, or is fair, or moral, or just.
** On Thursday, the House passed a resolution declaring Iran to be the world’s biggest state sponsor of terrorism. It’s a known fact, and the same resolution has been renewed by the Houses under both parties since 1984. The big difference this time: 53 Democrats voted against it. More from the democrats here.
** Carolla on the decline and fall of The City and County of San Francisco.
** When you go to the doctor and tell them that you want to transition, from what you are to something else, are there any options besides male and female? Do they give you 37 options?
** Carolla evaluates politicians.
Water
‘God save thee, ancient Mariner!
From the fiends that plague thee thus!—
Why look’st thou so?’—With my cross-bow
I shot the ALBATROSS…
Day after day, day after day,
We stuck, nor breath nor motion;
As idle as a painted ship
Upon a painted ocean.
Water, water, everywhere,
And all the boards did shrink;
Water, water, everywhere,
Nor any drop to drink.
Most of our key allies in the Middle East during the ongoing hostilities are completely dependent on desalination plants to convert seawater into fresh water. Without these plants, these nations cannot survive.
We are talking about 100 million people. Kuwait obtains 90% of its drinking water from desalination. Oman has eighty-six percent. Saudi Arabia is seventy percent. Without these plants, these nations would become uninhabitable within days.
On March 2, Iranian missile debris struck a power station in Fujairah in the UAE that feeds one of the world’s largest desalination facilities. Interceptor fragments also started a fire at Kuwait’s Doha West power and water desalination complex.
Since then, we have moved to an entirely new phase. The Iranians, who claim we struck a desalination plant in their country first, have now moved to directly targeting desalination plants in Gulf nations. A desalination plant in Bahrain was struck yesterday. Bahraini authorities admit “material damage” but claim there will be no disruption from the attack. It remains to be seen how true that is. This is only the beginning. The locations of every plant in the Gulf are well known. You can pinpoint them on your laptop using Google Earth. There is no hiding them.
If desalination plants suffer major damage from attacks, they may be offline for years. The Israelis took out major desalination plants in Gaza when they retaliated for Hamas attacks on Israel. Most of those plants are still offline. Overall, fresh water supplies in Gaza are still only roughly half of what they were before Israeli attacks, even with efforts by the United Nations and others to assist.
Iranian attacks are unlikely to end anytime soon. Iran operates under the Mosaic Defense doctrine. There are thirty-one autonomous provincial commands, each with its own targeting authority. These commands will continue to fight even without orders from Tehran. They may no longer have the use of ballistic missiles or jets of their own, but the Iranians can keep making cheap, relatively unsophisticated drones in workshops, private homes, and schools for a very long time. Just as Hamas has cobbled together rockets in Gaza for years despite Israelis attacks, the Iranians can continue to produce munitions capable of destroying commercial desalination plants for a very long time.
The UAE reportedly has also now struck a desalination plant in Iran. Iran may have already responded, although the situation remains fluid. In any event, reprisal is guaranteed.

Yes it is!
I saw this today. Civil War era breech blocks.

5 is a Krag-Jorgensen in .30-40. The gun Gregory Peck used to shoot the dog in “To Kill a Mockingbird.” And the gun Sgt. Schultz carried in “Hogan’s Heroes.” Which, you know, could actually have happened since the Luftwaffe seized bundles of them from Norway and may have used the now-not-Norweigan Krags in their Luftstalags.

Good gun, always wanted to have one. Supposedly a real nice deer rifle, smooth action, nice moderate cartridge.
Carville – Some will think that’s a parody – It is not, It is his truth – He is honestly showing his true self and beliefs shared by millions. TDS is Real!
Reptile man is as serious as a heart attack.
Why are we being subject to that hideous man who lost any relevancy two decades ago? That clip is insane, he’s insane. The The Democrats are insane. A third of the Republicans are insane. And on top of it all the insane are wrecking the country while telling is ‘it is good’ while obstructing the only man and his team who isn’t insane. And it’s only Monday morning.
Being part of group of coffee drinkers and BS’ers at a local feed store in the Texas Hill Country happened to meet the reptile’s bro. in law. Seems the only time the bro. in law and the reptile were allowed to attend a family function together was a Christmas meal as long as they didn’t mention politics. The bro. in law was as sane as us readers of LL’s blog.
Often wonder if Mary Matalin didn’t marry carville with the intention of him being a project to reform. If so, that project was doomed from the word go.
It’s amazing,
The wide range of experiences of the commenters here along with our host.
Carville is a repellent human being – along with many democrats – but not all.
RE: the Brits ~ a thought occurred to me yesterday that our president is far more remarkable than any other member of that elite office since George Washington. President Trump realizes South American countries have received short shrift when it comes to acknowledging their contributions to the Old World. Through European colonialism, South America has been used to fund European wants and desires while European governments failed to protect their colonies. By stealing their bounties, failing to improve technology, and failing to educate, Europe condemned South America to poverty. President Trump recognized that failure and coaxed South American governments to adopt the Shield of the Americas by simply appreciating the combined efforts of leaders making the effort to improve their countries. While he deftly worked with those leaders, President Trump has shown South America the way to making Europe – and Not-So-Great Britain – irrelevant.
I’m surprised at the British plea later last week of “hey, you need us!” The truth is that we don’t. What does the UK make these days? Ok fish and chips – name something else. Military alliance? They functionally have very little in that way these days. They’re a failed socialist state that has embraced every stupid aspect of woke. The only thing they do is scold others these days while being an empty vessel themselves. I was on the phone with LSP the other day and mentioned to him that I found Baghdad to be a better place to visit than London. And I mean that. The number of Arabs is the same, but Baghdad seems to be friendlier, safer and cleaner.
…and they can’t even spell ‘fries’ right…what the heck is a ‘chip’?
I like chips with the HP sauce on them, dragged through the grease and salt on the plate, and then eaten. When I lived there, they were cooked in lard, served in old newsprint, and were inexpensive. Maybe US$1.50 or so. I realize that time has passed, but when I was last in the UK, fish and chips were expensive. There is a good fish joint (Mike’s) in Payson, AZ and I go there when I need a fix but it doesn’t stand up to my memory of the quantiy and quality of the freshly caught cod in England and Scotland.
Making “chips” to accompany my chicken patty lunch…bag says ‘steak cut fries’. (Was really kidding, it’s like those Brits have a different word for normal things – heh)
Might you get cow chips instated of steak fries?
Or horse apples instead of Honeycrisp?
Could have said ‘pommes frites’ to sound less ‘Merican pedestrian.
Gave up ‘horse apples’ and ‘cow chips’ back in November, less daily work…altho cleaning stalls does give one time for mind freeing contemplation, assuming the horses aren’t in there ‘helping’ by adding to the fresh apple pile.
Ps. Glad our new favorite apple is Cosmic Crisp…bullet dodged.
Here in Gainesville, Florida, there is no longer any “Captain D’s” or “Long John Silver’s,” both which produced a decent ‘fish and chips’ and both had good malt vinegar to go with them.
–
I also remember “Arthur Treacher’s” but they went away a long time ago. They used replica newsprint in waxed/silicon paper for their wrappers.
–
Sadly my lovely wife hates the smell of vinegar so I cannot eat malt vinegar anywhere near her. Sigh. The things we do for love.
I’m sure the crowd was insulted, but the fact Biden became President pretty well proved he was smarter than everyone in the room. You can’t fix stupid, but you sure can use it.
And Slow Joe said that his son, Hunter, was the smartest man he knew. And I’ll leave it at that.
Well, maybe there is something to that. Look at all the things he got away with. For years he lived the High Life (pun intended) on everyone else’s dime he has yet to spend a day in jail. Even now, instead of being treated like the two-bit crack-whore, deadbeat dad, pdf, that he is, he’s considered a celebrity.
He’s a victim!
I wonder if old Joe raped him the way he did his sister, Ashley?
I bet he ignored him his entire life until Beau died.
Nice poem. Shooting one’s problems… poof, ship went poof, water went poof. Nicely written and of course very metaphorical about present day.
Sleepy Joe: The handlers let him off the leash…as if they didn’t know what would happen. Yet…worse…he was only ONE to use Jackson’s memorial to (inappropriately) spout off on politics; Obama and Clinton took their time to make their self-serving noise despite being told to leave politics at the door. Their arrogance prompted this the next day: https://www.instagram.com/reel/DVoq6OckmiY/?igsh=dmM4bXgzNnF1NjU2
Trying to correlate how certain politicians can be insane AND dithering simultaneously. Different animal, can’t possibly be human.
I don’t mind speaking ill of the dead. Jackson was a race hustler with a mail order divinity degree. The country is better off with him gone. The people speaking at his funeral need to join him.
He was, and came across that way the one time I briefly met him. As for the others, 2 out of 3 are circling the drain, or certainly look that way, the other one still thinks he’s ‘all that’ and immune.
And here I was poised to get a mail order divinity degree to expand my income base and you’re making fun of that sort of thing. The Reverend Jessie Jackson made a fine living as a preacher and race hustler. Why couldn’t I do the same – because it’s all in how you self-identify!
Online Pastor Degrees will allow you to formalize WWM Evangelical Church…TAX FREE! (the write-offs are huge)
I have a friend who turned his home into a Buddhist shrine to take advantages. MikeW knows him. I wonder if I could tap into Jessie Jackson/Rev. Al Sharpton style fund raising as the only black evangelical church in my area? Do you prefer the fat Al Sharpton or the skinny Al Sharpton? Think of me as the successor to Jeremiah Wright – the Reverend who introduced Barack to Big Mike.
I did find it amusing that the family didn’t want politics at the funeral of the man who infused politics with everything he did. Tres amusant, no?
–
Though considering how political all the dems were at Carter’s funeral, why would anyone be surprised that COB couldn’t keep politics out of the funeral?
–
And, further, if they didn’t care what the people actually did during their presidencies, why would anyone be surprised that any one of them couldn’t keep their traps shut?
–
I mean, though, considering it was the Reverend Jesse Jackson (I hear sainted Rush Limbaugh’s voice every time I read that name) who took the dirt nap, how many nice things could you actually say about him? “Well, he makes a good looking corpse…” “Well, we finally got him to shut the truck up…” “Well, at least he won’t be able to race grift anymore…”
It would be interesting to ask those Democrats what then was the greatest sponsor of state terrorism in the world?
I wouldn’t be surprised if they said America.
Exactly…because they are insane.
Today, the British public says that the UK, as a colonial power was a terrorist state, and that it will be better as a caliphate.
The public? Or there betters?
It’s what they teach in school there now. Of course, most of the schools in the larger cities are staffed by Muslims, so it would figure.
Let in a bunch of locust-minded types…what could possibly go wrong? London is run by Muslims, Muslim gangs openly overrun the city streets and are not prosecuted, Sharia has taken hold…etc, etc…and all Brits can do at this point is acquiesce to their demands. Hard to undo once a foothold has been gained…unlike Texas who put up a vote on not allowing the invasion to start it’s nutjob engine.
the Anti Missile Systems from Our to largest enemies have the same ability’s as a Roof from a Shoddy contractor , the Work Great till it Rains
“These commands will continue to fight even without orders from Tehran.”
I find that a bit disquieting. It reminds me of Fail Safe.
Who will give the recall orders?
When you look at how the Iranian military was run before we attacked, there were a number of independent groups that each had their own boss who reported to the Islamic Council and to Allah’s Ayatollah (of rock-and-rollah). The old man wanted them to be separate and squabbling among themselves so that they couldn’t depose HIM. They all have their own missiles.
We need to stay focused on the objective of Iran never having a nuclear weapon. Let the Arab states deal with everything else.
Saw a YT video covering Azerbaijan closing their border to Iran for truck traffic. Lots of hyperbole about Iran now being isolated. Are other countries bordering Iran doing the same?
As I mentioned here, quoting others, Iran claimed during negotiations to have enough fissile material to construct 11 nuclear weapons. Likely the plans came from the Chinese and Pres. Trump said that PROD (CIA people who track that sort of thing) said they could have a functioning nuclear weapon within two weeks of our attack. The democrats would say no, but they’d deny a sunny day. There wasn’t much choice.
BREAKING Sidebar: The two NYC “bombers”, ages 18 and 19, from Bucks County, PA (my ‘yute’ home), a typical neighborhood with a late model Range Rover parked in the driveway. Apparently targeted the 20 there protesting Muslims taking over NYC and what that brings to the city (hmm, like London ya mean?). Of the 100 people there ‘protesting the protesters’ these two threw bombs at the 20 trying to kill them. Proving the point that these types – like Iran – want us dead.
– From Eyewitness News 7:
“Attempts to reach the suspects’ families were not immediately successful. The two men both have addresses in Pennsylvania, and Balat carried a Turkish government identification card along with his Pennsylvania driver’s license, according to the complaint.”
–
Yet another deal to file under: “What could possibly go wrong letting these two families into the country?”
MadMommie refused to condemn these two, instead condemned the ‘anti-Muslim’ protesters. (surprise!…not)
The Left is beyond stupid, they are dangerously stupid.
“Criminal Insanity” comes to mind, Paul.
Agreed! Much better descriptor.

> Matt Walsh […] nobody on Earth can explain why this system makes sense
It’s en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Featherbedding for government. “Featherbedding is the practice of hiring more workers than are needed to perform a given job, or to adopt work procedures which appear pointless, complex and time-consuming merely to employ additional workers.” Yet most keep voting for it, because otherwise they 1) Couldn’t continue to fantasize they are a net beneficiary of taxes, and 2) Wouldn’t have classes under them to bully to demonstrate they are higher up the pecking order. But continued innovation in drone-type things will continue to tilt the predator/prey dynamic equilibrium in favor of prey. Is that “raccoon” rabid, or robot?
Saw this:
*
“Our government is backwards…
WE are PRIVATE, the government should know nothing about us…
THEY are PUBLIC servants, we should know everything about them.”
Featherbedding: See… NASA.
Though Iran is the big face of global terrorism, there is one place that is far more evil and stands behind, like a good puppetmaster, Iran when Iran does anything. I am speaking, of course, of the People’s Republic of China. West Taiwan. The ChiComs. Spreading terrorism everywhere, through drug cartels and hostile takeovers and through funding evil regimes worldwide.
–
President Trump and his administration are doing the right thing. Removing Venezuela as a fuel source. Removing Iran as a fuel source. Removing both of them as sponsors of terrorism in their regions. Getting the PRC out of Panama. Now all Trump et al need to do is get the PRC out of Mexico and Canada and Brazil and the Americas will be free of that cursed country.
–
Seriously. PRC. The moneyman and the hidden puppetmaster behind many of the great terrorist powers.
My wife isn’t as hawkish as me (almost nobody is), but she’s 100% on board with
the Iran pest control operation. She was pretty on board with Venezuela, too.
We just wish the coverage of the wars were better.
