In a statement, Trump’s communication director, Steven Cheung, said the former president “is fine.” One attendee was murdered, and the shooter was killed by the US Secret Service, unfortunately. It would have been better if he could have been drained for information before he died.

There was supposedly an arrest, then the report that the Secret Service killed the shooter. Details are still fuzzy.

  1. Want to bet we never learn much(truth) about the shooter. In yesteryear that photo would make Time magazine or the like. Almost looks…. never mind who knows whats up or down anymore ?

    1. They might report something about the shooter since is wasn’t apparently black.

          1. I want to know how…200 yards out…this assassin was able to crawl up a roof with kit, was seen doing it by a guy who told SS…and…nothing….ignored. Time for all of them to resign, including Kim Cheatle who, Bongino reported, she has repeatedly refused additional security for Trump, a former President. Heads must roll…4 months is a long time.

          2. 149 yard shot from the roof to the podium. Where was the police/SS coverage? Does anyone believe that the FBI will do an honest post-shooting investigation?

  2. Just got up from day sleep period and see this.
    Grazing hit, security grabs him and pulls him down, he comes back up with upraised defiant fist and what looks like a roar.

    1. Just watched a video clip and Trump was already hitting the floor and SS then appeared and piled on top of him. BBC news had a report of a guy who was trying to tell SS about an armed man climbing onto a building and they ignored him. Still early, so confusion is still at a maximum.

    I got to give Trump credit, if some of the audio I’ve seen is true to the video, Trump’s got some dump truck size balls on him.

    Seen elsewhere–“You think Orange Man is bad? Wait ’til you get a load of Red Man”. A fire will burn in Trump over the attendees dead and wounded. He will visit the families personally.

      1. Could be gunfire report echo people who are not familiar with live fire may have thought was multiple shooters (reports were shooters from that elevated position and the water tower).

    2. Antifa is going to have to take him out because he sure is hell going after ALL of them when he is in office. Unlike Biden and all the left.

  6. I’m sure we’ll hear the ’round up the usual suspects’ from the regime. AR style weapon, better ban them; Roofs are dangers – don’t ask why there wasn’t police protection there; Antifa, well “known to police” and Nobody in the organization that has so successfully defended all of Epstein’s clients knew a thing, or will be able to find a connection. Biden will call a lid after 90 seconds or so, and not call it an assassination.

    I’m pretty sure gun sales will go through the roof tomorrow. And “Trump is an existential threat to democracy” will be given a 72 hour break.

      1. The nominee doesn’t get full Secret Service protection until usually after the nominating convention, generally.

    How did the shooter get to an elevated position* and remain in place long enough to send multiple shots?

    *An alleged eye witness report is that the shooter climbed to position before the rally began.

    1. If you read President Trumps lips when he raised his fist, he said, “Fuck Them! Fuck Them!” I’m sure there will be media outrage at his statements.

      1. Glad the idiot was not successful. From the interview maybe the counter sniper team was so quick to react because they had already had eyes on the guy. Not sure but haven’t all the assassinations of US presidents been committed by dedicated lefties?

        1. I was speaking with a friend earlier, and we ticked off the assassinations and attempts against American presidents and candidates. On May 15, 1972, Governor George Wallace was shot four times by Arthur Bremer, a Democrat who thought that Wallace was too conservative while campaigning at the Laurel Shopping Center in Laurel, Maryland, at a time when he was receiving high ratings in national opinion polls. Lee Harvey Oswald – communist democrat, or whoever actually killed JFK, it’s still classified. It was likely a coup where Lyndon Johnson was the political beneficiary, so Democrats killing Democrats, etc.

      If Mark Violets was indeed the man (The Lone Gunman), and if that is really his photo, well, it’s hard to imagine that fat f*ck climbing a flight of stairs, much less a building — while carrying a rifle.

      I’m seeing comments on other sites about “Open Season on Antifa” or “Welp, we just got the green light” and the like. That sounds like playing into Their greasy, short-fingered hands. Whoever They might be. Ahem. Right-wing extremists! Right-wing Death Squads Murdering Defenseless Minorities! What are we the authorities being forced to do? Martial Law? National Curfew? “Though their violent and criminal politically-motivated actions, the MAGAtards have made it too dangerous to have in-person polling. We must act pre-emptively to prevent mass murders at polling places. The entire election will be mail-in.” Or perhaps internet based.

    1. Exactly…looked skinny not well fed. We’ll get more tomorrow, maybe only the full truth from Trump himself. In the meantime…THANK YOU LORD for having Trump turn his head slightly at the last microsecond! As LL said, “Too close.” (Still nothing from Mr. 10am Lid…altho the WH is infuriatingly calling the clear assassination attempt…yup…an “incident”. Evil resides there.)

  12. Asking if I’m seeing correctly. The video showing the two USSS snipers on the roof behind Trump, the forward one looks over his scope and then drops his head back down and appears to take one shot. He then pulls off the scope. Gunfire continues so I assume he missed. The second USSS sniper; doesn’t appear to shoot at all, he just ducks for cover. These two didn’t take out the assassin, so who did and from where. I also don’t think I’d keep these two on the detail.     1. There was one report claiming the shooter was taken down by a Pennsylvania State Trooper. Too much static gumming up the information at present.

    2. Im gonna say they did exactly what was part of the plan. They had this dupe in the glass and waited for him to take the shots and as soon as president Trump went down they lit him up. I believe the powers that be tried to take him out and would have succeeded if he hadn’t cocked his head to side the way he always does when he is making a point. Lord help us all.

    1. X2…and now he’s pissed. Lawfare is bad enough, but this? Unforgivable. And since the attempt didn’t succeed The Dems will go down hard and in flames….anyone voting D for President is complicit by association because we all have been suspecting this would be their final play if they couldn’t jail him….can’t possibly be a judge in any of the sham cases who could sentence him now without looking like a total operative. (Some have suggested he was hit in the body armor also, which makes his being alive and ‘generally’ unscathed even more a miracle.)

  14. That BBC interview will test the spin doctors. As I posted on LSPs blog, the winner will be determined by who counts the votes. Hope this gets the GOP off their smug asses and galvanize an army of poll watchers in all the deep blue cities. I know Trump’s daughter is trying to do this but it won’t be enough. These poll watchers must be in place at least a month ahead of the election because the vote counters will fight them tooth and nail.

  15. I went through the wikipedia list once and discovered 1 in 5 US presidents had been shot at.

    By this attempt, the Overton window has been shifted. Now he can be shot at every week; most people will feel that’s “normal”, and will have written him off. Maybe you can start a popular movement to “draft” Thomas Massie.

    Twitter RepThomasMassie: The same bureau that investigated the Las Vegas shooting and the January 6th pipe bombs is now investigating the attempted assassination of Trump. This is also the same bureau that raided Mar-a-Lago. I’m sure they’ll get to the bottom of this soon.

    1. The viral photo will go “more” viral. WSF is right, it will come down to who are allowed to count the votes. We need to go to in-person voting on election day with ID’s and maybe a fingerprint for each voter if we are to ever have a free and fair election again. I’m not holding my breath.

  16. Some media use another name, Thomas Matthew Crooks. I am not familiar with the perimeter but if it is correct a man was seen, and reported, on the roof in advance without anyone taking action, that could have made a difference.

    1. There is no scenario that I have been involved in during my long and storied career where a ROOFTOP 150 meters from a security risk was not covered. This is a first. The next question to ask was it gross incompetence or intentional.

      1. It is very strange. I do not understand it. As I understand he was killed by counter snipers, but their job is to observe, and if they could see him and hit him? If other people warned about him and called in. It looks like incompetence with a flavor of intention.

      2. This summary and presentation of the perimeter and scene generate a lot of questions on how it was possible.

      1. I had six Secret Service Special Agents assigned to a joint agency task force that I ran – at one point. They were assigned to a large Super Note (currency counterfeiting) matter primarily. I liked all of them but they kept crashing cars. They were young, honest, and hard-working, but none were big guys.

        1. When you are small you have less protective body mass to cover the VIP. Since Trump is a lot taller his vital body parts are not shielded with smaller women. I guess female VIP are more similar in size to female USSS agents.

          1. Thank you, John, exactly. I was thinking of two things: 1) the meat-shield aspect, as you note, and 2) the ability to extract the principal by either carrying or even dragging him away if he cannot move under his own power.

  18. I have not read all the comments here and not a lot on the boob tube but one thing that does not make sense to me is that the main job of a sniper/team is timely intel. Yet the sniper could see the perp to shoot him but could not observe him prior while getting into position etc. but I guess had a good line of sight and shot him quickly. Sounds fishy.

    1. He was using iron sights (the rifle was not scoped) if Trump had not turned his head and moved slightly at the last second, he would most likely have taken the shot in the side of the head.
      I am in no way a professional (or even an amateur) in these matters but even I would have had assets positioned on that building and observation drones in the air. The shooter wasn’t even dressed in such a way as to be mistaken for security personnel. There were at least several people in the crowd pointing out the shooter moving into position to several security personnel and were completely ignored.
      As for the shooter this was an unbalanced person most likely spun up by a three-letter agency. I am seeing reports in various places that his social media is already thoroughly scrubbed. It is being reported that there were explosive materials found in his car, for whatever that means.
      If he was a patsy or a lone wolf is irrelevant the Left totally owns this. They have been inciting violence for years and have been ramping up violent rhetoric in the extreme recently. Now a citizen has been murdered and two are in serious condition and the left is either expressing disappointment that Trump survived or that he is to blame. Those who are denouncing it are in the same breath insisting that we all “come together” or other such platitudes.
      NO.
      The Left continues to dance in our blood and tell us it’s all our fault and we continue to let them.
      The Founding Fathers would be ashamed of us.

  20. I guess Hollywood has a great plot to make movies from. Someone found a useful person, an event, a place, and a bulletproof plan. After the shots were fired they all planned DT to be killed and then the counter snipers shot the useful person and all evidence was lost. They will never find “someone” but the speculations will last and new movies will be made.
