Bullet Points:
** In the UK – “Christian leaders remain locked in an echo chamber of suicidal self-regard that is driving our country off a cliff.”
** WSF weighs in (h/t) (right) –
** (NY Post) Illegal alien drivers (who don’t read English) with canceled commercial driving licenses strike back: “The sudden loss of their ability to work threatens not only their livelihoods but also the stability of our supply chains and services on which the public depends.” Maybe if they returned to their native lands? Or is that solution too complex? Self-deport and claim your $1,000 bonus!
** It’s funny unless you live there. And it’s not Somalis doing it, it’s Democrats and the FOOLS who keep giving them power. Minnesota used to be primarily Nordic in its immigration pattern, and the same self-loathing you see in Europe seems to have taken root among its descendants. It is bizarre to not only hate your ancestral culture (Scandinavia) but to hate your current culture (America) so much that you bow to a totally foreign culture that is robbing you blind as a way of saying thank you! Somalis make up less than 2% of the Minnesota population, WTAF is their lt. Is the governor doing this for? To prove he hates Trump a whole, whole lot? Liberalism is truly a mental disorder, while Leftism is pure malevolence. When will native Minnesotans snap out of it?
** It’s time to celebrate diversity as we approach 2026!
** Old NFO isn’t surprised in the least.
** China’s leadership keeps treating investment like a faucet. Turn the rhetoric knob, announce another “guidance meeting,” and expect capital to flow. But capital doesn’t respond to slogans. It responds to rules it can trust and institutions that don’t change overnight. And that’s the real problem. The incentive today isn’t to invest well. It’s to avoid being noticed. Entrepreneurs learned the lesson from crackdowns, sudden regulations, and disappearing billionaires. Foreign firms learned it from arbitrary enforcement and political risk. Local officials learned it from promotion systems that reward stability optics, not long-term growth. So money sits still. Or leaves.
** For EdB. Lest he forget.
** This is December 2025 Center for Immigration Studies official data.
– 81% of Somali households in Minnesota are on government Welfar
– 73% are on Medicaid
– 54% are on food stamps/SNAP
– 27% are on cash welfare
– 89% of Somalian households with children are on welfare
By comparison, only 21% of native-born American citizen Minnesota households use any of these programs.

Pedo Joe was a role model for his creepy, corrupt, morbidly drug-addicted son, Hunter.

3 is British HMS Londonderry a Rothesay or Type 12 class anti-submarine frigate.
Indeed it is.
Ah, memories… I sailed aboard HMS Londonderry for the SANEX naval exercises with the South African Navy in 1974. The crew introduced me to porno movies (banned in South Africa) and British beer (which should have been banned – at least, the stuff they had on board, which had been too long in storage and had gone flat!).
A highlight of my memories of that exercise was the “braai” (barbecue) held on the flight deck of a South African frigate at dockside. A depth charge had been “accidentally” dropped into a school of yellowfin tuna, and as the casualties boiled to the surface, the exercise came to a sudden halt as “hands to bathe!” was piped and every available boat was launched to harvest them.
55-gallon drums were split in half lengthways, half-filled with sand, and positioned down the seaward side of the flight deck. Aviation fuel was poured into them and set alight, forming blueish flames that looked unappetizing. Great big steaks were cut from the fish, wrapped in tinfoil, and laid on racks set across the drums. All went well until the last drum was lit. The rating responsible for preparing it had been a little too generous with the aviation fuel, so as it was lit, the half-drum lifted off its mounting with a decisive “whomp!” and flew over the side. The several Chief Petty Officers and other senior ratings who’d been peacefully drinking their beer along the railing reacted very rapidly, going backwards over the side as the drum flew overhead. After they’d been rescued from the harbor, in their oil-stained and water-soaked uniforms, they lined up to “discuss the matter” with the rating responsible. I learned several new words that day… and he spent the next few weeks cleaning every exposed aerial and cable topside, in good or bad weather, to encourage him to be a little more careful.
Ah, memories…
What would we have with out that class of recollections?
Thank you.

Well done, Surly
Revoked CDL’s; Before Gavin, Cuomo, and now Hochul allowed this particular demolition project, truck freight supplies were maybe not perfect, but sufficient. Reports are claiming up to 10k licenses have been revoked. Were these new jobs created, or where did the former drivers go? There’s got to be data and resolve for this supply chain “crisis” that’s not on the horizon but already under foot. DOT, Duffy and Bradbury should have answers.

To quote the kid that slayed the giant, “Isn’t this mere talking?” 1 Samuel 17:29 ( Spanish) The time is now for a P.O.A.
Whatever it takes to get unqualified drivers off the road is worthwhile, IMO. Wages and working conditions will improve for qualified drivers. That may be offset by lower insurance premiums. There is a video clip of a Sikh driver complaining, via an interpreter, that he has been here ten years and driving a truck for eight. The arrogance! Ten years here and didn’t bother to learn English.
Put them on the airplane. Don’t let them return.
💯
Push them out of the airplane halfway there. That way they’ll never come back. After all, they’re illegal combatants (military age men not in uniform who answer to another nation) and that’s totally legal.
Minnesota has too many willing to sacrifice their integrity for a share of the grift. The same is seen in parts of Texas, and most other states. Ending the grift requires a ruthless effort, and I don’t envision that type of effort without a severe punishment for those caught bilking public funds. Even if laws are followed, the jury pool is the weakest link in successful prosecutions. With corrupt judges added to the mix, the only other recourse is for citizens to take the law into their own hands. Time will tell, but I don’t see much happening, other than tongue-wagging and complaining.
Yes, finding twelve licensed drivers who are incapable of getting out of jury duty and can fog a mirror is quite a challenge.
Africa, holy crap. There was once a mutual fund manager, I forget his name, who said you should never invest in anything you can’t illustrate with a crayon. Binney & Smith (inventors of Crayons) don’t make enough colors for that map to work.
.
By the way, Binney & Smith met while serving in the USMC, so the old joke about Jarheads eating crayons…….oh, never mind.
Joe Biden complained that the purple crayons don’t taste like grape. Or at least the quote was attributed to him.
‘Blue’ either, not blueberry flavored…much to my dismay. (ok, who never tried that..hopefully as a 3 yo and not an adult)
Here’s the modern rub…is the ‘white/blanco/blanc’ colored crayon…once called ‘flesh’ considered racist and oppressive, especially since the ‘black’ one has ‘black/negro/noir’ written right on the side? (Maybe that was an older set picture…with sharpener of course.) We as kids saw ‘black’ as ‘night sky’ or ‘shadow’, reserving ‘brown’ for ‘the other’, but today everything is couched as some race thing so can’t have THAT!
Haven’t checked but betting under social media/urban white Karen pressures ‘white’ is now called ‘oppressive tone’ and tastes like Ludefisk, and the newest sets have ‘black’ labeled as ‘nighttime outside the city’ so as not to imply anything Crayola could get sued over. Oh…and NO sharpener as those could be labeled as a weapon-maker since it makes pointy things.
I can tell the rifle is a trapdoor Springfield. I can’t tell if it’s an 1873, 1879, or 1884 model from the photo. That rear sight looks a bit off to me.
I’m used to the original.

Or the later Buffington. https://regimentalquartermaster.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/07/ORI-329-1-3.jpg
The one in photo looks like it might belong on a 1903 Springfield. I imagine the owner may have used that one to replace a missing rear sight.
I think it’s an 1884 model.
when I purchased mine in western MN in ’67 the owner told me it was an ’84. he felt comfortable selling it to me ’cause he knew I rolled my own and to work up the loads carefully with varous powders and primers and not to pay any attention to the books. quite accurate and very comfortable to carry, even in the Maine woods. just passed it down to my son along with all my loading info.
I think Jim may be right about the M1903 rear sight. I don’t know enough about the various Krag rear sights to see if one of those would stick and too lazy to get out my copy of Brophy’s Krag book to look.
Funny you should mention. Back in my younger days, I thought an original Trapdoor Buffington sight would be just the upgrade for my repro Sharps. At the time, one of those sights was more than I could afford, so I went with a Krag sight instead. Works fine, I just have to remember where the hell I stashed my range notes.
as an aside, my first office was three blocks N of that magificent edice (until I ran out to Oregon) from ’70 to ’92 just cater-corner crost Fifth from St. Thomas

You can go to KFC or Popeyes’ Chicken to claim your ‘free’ meal. You’re on your own securing your Schlitz Malt Liquor can.
Seeing the lead in picture, I wonder when Madmommie will convert one of the famous churches into a mosque?
I think that the NYC Mayor’s authority falls fall short of that.
