Caption: US troops deploy at all points on the globe except to defend the Southern Border from invasion. How convenient is that?
Bullet Points:
** “NASA is poised to launch Europa Clipper, a $5.2 billion mission to Jupiter’s fourth-largest moon, as early as October 10. The spacecraft will blast off from Kennedy Space Center in Florida atop a SpaceX Falcon Heavy rocket. After reaching Jupiter in 2030, it will study Europa, a possible home for extraterrestrial life, through a series of flybys.
Europa isn’t a craterous rock like our moon. Its surface is coated with ice, and telescope and spacecraft observations suggest it harbors a colossal liquid ocean in its interior that holds twice as much water as all of Earth’s oceans combined. Europa also possesses some of life’s critical building blocks: carbon, oxygen, hydrogen, nitrogen, phosphorus, and sulfur. These conditions could be sufficient for life to have developed there, either in the ocean’s depths or subsurface lakes.”
** They said, “Follow the science.” So I did. There are only two genders, and only women can have children. They no longer like the science.
** If you use a baseball bat for home defense, slip a sock over it. If the intruder tries to grab the bat, the sock will slide off, and you’ll have another chance to smoke him. Follow VM for more hospitality tips.
** The best camouflage pattern is called sit down and be quiet. Your grandpa bow-hunted deer while wearing a red plaid coat. Think about that for a moment. -Fred Bear
** Adapting to life in America – we can all relate.
** Deep Thoughts from Vice President Harris… “The work that we have done has resulted in a number of movements in that region by Israel that were very much prompted by or a result of many things, including our advocacy for what needs to happen in the region.” – Listening to the Ho gives me a headache. What a moron.
** Wynn Resorts — which holds the trademark for “Arabian Strip” — now has permission to build the Gulf’s first casino. The American casino developer received a license to operate a “gaming facility” in the UAE following two years of activity that has included the establishment of a national gaming authority, the arrival of US casino execs, and progress on Wynn’s $2.25-billion resort in Ras Al Khaimah. Still, it’s all been a bit hush-hush: no formal gambling law in the UAE, and officials have yet to utter the word “casino” in public, Skift reported, preferring “gaming.”
** The World Economic Forum is Marxism for millionaires. What was called internationalism in the 1930s has devolved into a globalism that will remake the world in the image of the man with the pentagrams. Their mantra is, “You will own nothing and be happy.”
You will own nothing. They will own or control everything. There is no way Bill Gates is giving up the fortune he made off stealing ideas from others (he calls it reverse engineering). None of the oligarchs will.
But the politicians will pretend they will give things up just to suckers others in.
** Law Enforcement Today is reporting that an anonymous source has provided new, highly disturbing information about Governor Tim Walz’s financial disclosures and the ongoing investigation of the House Committee on Oversight and Accountability into Walz’s 30 trips to Communist China. According to the whistleblower, the House Committee has found that the Chinese Communist Party paid for all of these trips. The Great Walz of China wants to lead you to the promised land.

The Japanese Dry Dock Shelter
The US Navy built smaller versions that could be bolted and unbolted to the decks of submarines and used to transport, deploy, and recover MK VIII SEAL Delivery Vehicles. The Japanese I-400, Sentoku, had a shelter designed to contain a seaplane. (Captured by the US Navy after World War Two) USN didn’t exactly reverse engineer the DDS (below), but we took a close look at it.

Yes!
To be fair, the US military doesn’t deploy to the northern border either, and similar
shenanigans are proceeding there. Nor does it deploy to our ports, to even slightly
interdict the flow of SE Asian mafia slaves. At least people complain about the
Mexico side of things.

Well, SpaceX is launching the mission. JPL built the probe. IDK what NASA has to do
with it, beyond collecting the vig. Cool mission though, I hope they actually got
the radiation problem sorted.
*
I would point out that when my grandpa hunted, essentially nobody used a bow,
because he wasn’t a stone-age savage and the seasons and laws had not yet become
perverse. Also, he hunted for meat, not as a recreation / sport / challenge. But yeah.
A lot of those old guys did it while smoking a pipe, too. Prey animals are really not
particularly wily, and gear fetishism doesn’t make someone a better hunter.

The vig is what NASA has been about for some time now. They distribute government cheese.
JPL is a loosely connected part of NASA based in Pasadena CA. Having worked for NASA, I’ll state that it has become an over-bureaucratic DIE make-work agency where “woke” is the name of the game. Like Dept of Ed, it needs to be shut down and let private industry takeover. Note that NASA is an Executive Branch agency – the President is the ultimate boss. My years there covered that bastard from Kenya (BFK) and DJT. There were pictures of BFK all over the place – even when DJT was prez. There were no pictures of DJT in evidence while I was there.
“These conditions could be sufficient for life to have developed there”
By who? We can’t seem to do it here.
I agree with you, but there is a lot to learn from sending the probe, no matter what they find.
I’m up for that.
Harris may be a bigger moron than I thought. If I’m reading her statement properly, she’s saying that the Socialist-Progressives have provided aid and directions to the Gazans for the October 7th invasion.
Or is it just my astigmatism?
They are sending money to Lebanon to rebuild Hezbollah. They have been giving money and aid to Hamas for decades, playing both sides. Pres. Trump didn’t, and they were upset about it. Given the massive aid that we give to the Taliban, nobody should be surprised.
Arms sales are arms sales.
We should have demolished every runway (we have explosives that will destroy them) in Afghanistan and demo’d everything that we left behind but if we’d don’t that, the Beltway Bandits wouldn’t have had Congressional money to replace the equipment “lost in the conflict”. Sorch the earth and salt it. I would have destroyed every road we paved, every building we constructed and laid waste to Afghanistan. There are areas where they live in the stone age so you can’t blow them back to it – but over ten years the trillion plus we spent built things that should have been destroyed. Let them go back to herding goats and growing opium for sale to the Russians.
x2…LL for Secretary of Defense!
Don’t hold back. How do you really feel?
Viktor Bout, the Russian arms dealer known as the “Merchant of Death,” walked out of a U.S. prison almost two years ago in a trade with Moscow for U.S. basketball star Brittney Griner. Now he is back in business, trying to broker the sale of small arms to Yemen’s Iran-backed Houthi militants. The fact is that he was back in business the moment he was released. What has Britney Griner done except munch carpet?
By all accounts, she’s good at slobbering down beaver and getting more ink.
Leave the Ballbat near your inside front door so the robbers finger prints will be on it when you shoot them.
Sound advice.
I know a woman who used to work for Fred Bear and swore he was the best boss she ever had.
I only heard good things about him too, though I never met the man.
UAE Casino? Curious if it will have a similar effect as those on Reservations, not that the UAE needs the money.

Watched the October 7th Remembrance Ceremony at Trump Doral, including a proper Presidential candidate giving his respectful concise comments, A true leader. What was The One Who Shall Not Be Named doing? Oh, that’s right, hanging with some sex show talker. (no need to expound, speaks for itself)

Praying for Floridians…hoping this thing reduces before landfall. The screamers saying all manner of things should look up Joe Bastardi, was on Stigall’s program yesterday morning (stream it, he is typical Pennsylvania direct…which we more of these days), he dispels The Hyperventilator’s uninformed commentary regarding this and other storms being “worse and man-caused”. Read comments over at CTH, Sundance is Fort Myers I believe, went through Ian, and has a time-tested terrific “storm/anything prep” laundry list. Comments by a few are convinced “the government” is steering storms to take out Redstate strongholds…yeah…no…they can’t even balance a budget. Stigall’s podcast, skip to the last 15 minutes to pickup Bastardi’s commentary on Milton, etc. (he’s ticked at the wrong think ignorance): https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/are-the-bidens-trying-to-hurt-the-harris-campaign/id1459417907?i=1000672121093
Ps. Fred Bear… Uncle Ted Nugent idolizes the man having learned directly from him while sharing many a campfire with the legend. “Being quiet in the woods”…a good skill to practice.
There is a big demand for more vice in Muslim countries – places where men can go, gamble, drink, mingle with prostitutes, etc., closer to home than Monte Carlo. They want their own Temple of the Living Elvis. It allows them to be devout Muslims during the week and to party on the weekends.

It looks like Florida will take a severe hit from this hurricane. Everything depends on it exhausting itself before it hits shore, but as of this writing, the people in its path should opt to be safe rather than sorry. McDill Joint Base, home of JSOC, is evacuating. My heart goes out. I’ve thrown some of my hard earned money toward disaster relief and encourage all of you who can part with a few dollars put toward the effort, not to the scammers who are skimming the aid – as they always do – and pocketing it.

Both my grandfather and father were heavily into archery hunting. I have done so in the past, but I switched to black powder and deer hunting with my Brown Bess Flintlock when I hunt for sport. .75 caliber patched round ball, aim over the rear tang screw and the bayonet lug. I brought a large caliber handgun in the event I needed to finish the kill. Today, living as I do literally among the prey, with elk and deer near the door, I can tell one from another and while I don’t feed them, they’re almost pets that can be eaten if the need arises.
When you name the deer and elk then we’ll know you’ve crossed over to becoming a full on Gaia adherent.
https://www.cajunnavyrelief.com/…just heard the director on Beck. A true help, in NC for the past week or so. Said they are already in Ocala so are at the ready for Milton.
I speak to them at times. One white-tail (Coues Deer) mother who brings her fawns around is named “Missy”. We watch the tiny deer grow up with her. She always has multiples. The big dominant bull elk is “Bubba.” So I’m either insane or have embraced Gaia – or both. I don’t speak to them all the time, but if they’re just standing there looking at me – I often do. I’ll compliment Bubba on the fine youngsters he’s fathered. He hangs at my place during hunting season to avoid being shot.
Does that include naming them “Lunch” and “Dinner”?
Thing is, they know where they are safe. Looked back at the surprised moose, said, “Hey, whatcha lookin’ at? No, I don’t need any help, now move along.” Just stood there staring because I wasn’t close enough for his lousy eyesight to get a read or close enough to run me over in threat management.
>There is a big demand for more vice in Muslim countries
Yeah, there sure is. But a guy who re-named himself Steve Wynn, being backed by the good ol’ USA to be the provider of said vice to Muslims, yet, is hardly the best optics.
Why wouldn’t a Jew build casinos to fleece the Mooselims? Yes, I know that he was born Stephen Weinberg. Given that the Jews are rogering the Muslims three ways from Shabbat at the moment, it only stands to reason.
Joe Bastardi is a real no BS kind of guy. When I first ran across him, I was kind of surprised at his overall response to hurricane seasons as close to the saying, “they don’t repeat, but they rhyme,” but it looks like he has a good approach. He looks at the big picture of weather, like where the high and low pressure systems around the country have been and says something like, “this looks like 1963 so the storms will be in these places.”
***
But credit where credit is due, the Babylon Bee took over with something like, “Gee, a hurricane in hurricane alley in the middle of hurricane season? Must be climate change.”
I see people who have prior agreed with us that climate change cannot be man-made, that man cannot influence the weather, now say that these hurricanes have been created for political purposes.
Exactly Ed…but people will say anything from one day to next, contradicting themselves FOR political purposes or to bolster their own particular bent. Cloud seeding is one thing (isolated), but steering? Yeah, no. (“Man plans, God laughs”…not that Milton etc. are His direct doing as some would have us believe.) Then again, the evil ones did manipulate a coronavirus in a lab to “be more deadly” then released it onto the masses….but still, that’s not weather.
Hah! Oh the irony, right?
The thing is, even if “The Cabal” or whatever you want to call it, CAN steer massive storm systems, there is no point trying to convince people of it. All it will do is shut down the listener to anything else you have to say. We still have people who think that the vaxx was benign, who think that the only fraud in 2020 was pro-Trump, and so forth. And these are people nominally on “our side”. The stuff the other side believes is much crazier.

In cheerful news, a new colleague, who is becoming a friend, was holding forth at lunch. She is German-born but genetically Iranian. I walked in late because of some prior meeting, but she was holding forth about the insanity of the “pronouns” business. This went on for a few minutes and then it transitioned (you’ll pardon the choice of words) to “Germany is crushed, and it makes me furious.” Someone asked what she meant. “We [she was including herself as a German] have been taught to hate ourselves, to be ashamed of our history. To be afraid to speak up for ourselves against unchecked immigration. If we dare hint that there is goodness in Germany then we are accused of all kinds of terrible things.” Incredible! It’s very hopeful to see a young person (to me, she’s early 30’s) say this kind of thing openly. But it’s sad that a bloody Iranian is the one defending Germany. And it’s sad that a Chinaman (your humble correspondent) is often the only one defending the US. (I have had no few people come up to me afterwards and say “I agree with you” but are afraid to say it out loud in public. I understand where they are coming from, but … Sigh.)
It’s even more interesting to look at WWII from the viewpoint of a gemischte; someone who lost family in the camps and on the Eastern front; with a dad who was sending weekly Care packages to his Christian relatives under the Soviet yoke in Germany, Hungary, and Poland in the ’40s and ’50s.
It certainly is not true that politicians created hurricanes. But, if hurricanes did not already exist, those mooks might certainly have tried to create them or a similarly destructive event. Never let one of those things go to waste, etc.
Yup…and we need more straight talk about such things (all things really, not wimpy infotainment gobblygook). A guy I read came from New Jersey, moved to St. John, now lives in The Villages (dead center Florida): “Those of us who have been through enough storms – this will be my 15th (+/-) hurricane – take this s–t seriously. There’s two simple rules about storms of this magnitude: First is, you can’t do diddly-s–t to mitigate what the storm wants to do, and, most important – no single possession is worth risking near-certain death or injury. Juss’ sayin’…”

Curious how the Floridan newcomers will do? Main corridor roads were full up by yesterday afternoon, fuel stops emptied, and brother bugged out of his Eastern side waterfront place early to beat the General Public panic to a friends place up north (their place is on the projected bottom edge of the cone so secured everything and left). Got settled into the hotel for the night, texted he overheard the clerk say all the hotels in Jacksonville are booked solid. Today will be worse.
There is a lot neat about Florida and the Gulf Coast. The storms are the fly in the ointment. And for the record, there’s something unpleasant about anywhere you want to live. The US Forest Service is doing controlled burns where I normally reside in the mountains, making the air unbreathable. They do love that overtime.
My wife’s family except for her dad now resides in Jax.
I have no interest in living on a sand bar.
Conditioned/over-softened water, air-conditioning everywhere and you can’t shoot the alligators..
are-the-bidens-trying-to-hurt-the-harris-campaign?
I believe so. I think it was evident when Bidden put the MAGA hat on.
When he scheduled a press conference and waked over her appearance.
It looks as if they’re trying to bind Kamala’s brand to theirs. It’s popcorn time.
Had the same sentiment….but to what end 28 days out?
Finding life on Europa will be a major discovery, but the chemical composition of the water may show using it for humans as unfeasible. That, and the radiation from Jupiter too deadly to attempt any harvesting.
The radiation issue is significant, though how far it penetrates the ice and water has yet to be demonstrated. There is too much about it that we don’t know. Titan is another interesting target for a landing/rover or, better yet, for several landers/rovers to give some redundancy. We learn so much about a place with a robotic visit – Mars for example. Musk plans to drop a lander on Mars in two years and to land people during the next Trump presidency as a gift to The Donald if the lander is successful. It will preposition supplies that a human mission can use.
That M1 Garand still speaks to me.
I may have to give it a shot.
If you buy one, you will be viewed as a prepper – and you know what THOSE people are like. Many of them wear MAGA hats.
Get a Garand, yes. you will not be disappointed. Even with Greek HXP 150 grain ball ammo as used to be sold by the DCM , it is an 800 to a thousand yard gun. Put some serious hurt on some one. The real reason US won WW II. And you can reload the brass. And get a bayonet also. For the pucker factor.
> viewed as a prepper
For values of “prepper”. (I know, not your point here, but got me on the tangent below…)
So we just hired a new guy (NG) [back story redacted]. Anyway, NG is good at the job, and it turns out we see eye-to-eye on a few things. The other day some people were discussing running out of food at home. NG said to me quietly, “I don’t think I’m properly prepared.” Yeah, what do you have? “About three months of food. Need to lay in some proper stocks though.” I laughed. You realize most of these guys have between three days and three weeks of food, yeah? My concern is water. How are you set for that? Turned out that was a major deficiency. He’s got beans and bullets, but the water situation is pretty much “I bought a few of those big blue jugs from Walmart. Should probably fill them up, huh?” Sure, that’s fine, but no filtration or purification stuff at hand. I have to dig out my spare Katadyn “Base Camp” filter, which isn’t a complete solution, but at least a start for him. (Got a few on closeout some time back. Stashed in the basement. Have like 8 or 10 of those SteriPen UV things as well, come to think of it; also got on closeout, duh.) Must properly inventory the basement. Having no idea where the stuff is will not do. It’s kissing cousin to not having the stuff at all.
—
Anyway, the point is that neither NG nor I think of ourselves as preppers. But everyone else at that place thinks we are paranoid nut-case “preppers” because of having more than a month’s food in the house. I may BE a nut case, but not because of that.
Oh, you’re definitely a nut, Mike_C. If you weren’t nuts you wouldn’t visit this blog. As to food, water and ammo (and warm clothing as needed), why would you trust your life to the tender mercies of the State? Given their unreliable track record, if there’s a problem, you’re on your own.
I believe the tank in the photo is not an M5 but a M3.
The angle of the front armor plate is an M3.
You can also see the drivers hatch is open, the M5 did not have those hatches.
The front fender matches the length of an M3.
Engine deck does not have the M5 raised deck.
Respectfully submitted
It is an M-3
“If you use a baseball bat for home defense, slip a sock over it. If the intruder tries to grab the bat, the sock will slide off, and you’ll have another chance to smoke him.” Do socks slip off of said bat if there is barb wire strand wrapped around the length of that aforementioned bat?
Mike, I agree with your statement, it seems a lot of other-Americans, other-Germans, other-countries are more patriotic and vocal than long term residents of said countries. They may be second or third generation, but have heard the stories of their first generation legal immigrant families and friends.
In the few years when I did street police work, I’d occasionally offer my double growth hickory nightstick to gangsters with an attitude. They’d ask, “what will you do if I take it?” I said, “once your fingerprints are on it, I’ll kill you.” That ray of reality sunshine pierced the thickest skull and they backed off. None of them took me up on the offer. I used to carry a Walther PPK in a shoulder holster under my black uniform jacket. I’d stand with my arms crossed, hand on the Walther, regular duty weapon exposed for them to grab. On one occasion (surprisingly only once) a young thug made a grab for the pistol and I put the Walther’s barrel into his eye and used the Eastwood line, “you must feel lucky”. There are many strategies. You have to find the one you’re most comfortable with.
Just the visual alone…wow.
Prolly the dumbest thing anyone has ever said (on this blog) but has anyone ever considered the pros and cons of tossing several hundred gallons of liquid helium and/or nitrogen down Uncle Milty’s throat?
As I’ve always understood it, these babies need an awful lot of energy to operate and tossing a cold drink down their gullets should really put a damper on things.
If you follow the money you will find the ones keeping science a prisoner.
L-L Sir: M1898 Chilean Mauser (in CIA 7.62NATO), M1903A1, M1 Garand, M1 Carbine, M14 Springfield Armory, FAL Belgian, M16 Colt, G3 H&K. Does my list make me a ‘Prepper’ or a Museum?
It makes you friend material. :)
Definitely in the friend zone.
Gotta agree with Klebert on all counts. And yes, Grandpa hunted to feed the family. I won’t kill something if I can’t eat it. Re the borders, they keep using posse comitatus, but had a s**t fit when Abbott put the Texas National Guard on the border…LOL
I am just a lay person, but the way I read the history prior to the Posse Comitatus Act(18 USC 1385) the wording of the law and a lot of history afterwards, and various legal stuff, it does not seem that the Act prevents placing US active duty troops on the Mex border. And if it did it needs to be repealed and if it did, there are statutory exceptions available. But Oh Hell, we dont need no real border. Adry river bed and a three strand barbed wire are good enough. Just ask the Sinaloa Cartel.
A PPK seems kind of light for a backup weapon. When I worked the road my backup was a Kimber ultra with 8 little friends inside, tucked under my shirt and under the kevlar strap
This was pre-Kimber. A PPK with the right ammo at 12″ range will penetrate enough if you fire for effect. Of course, the line is “I shot to stop him/her/it”, not “I emptied the magazine into them to insure they’re dead and can’t testify.”
