Yesterday we saw protesters across the street from the White House trying to tear down a statue of President Andrew Jackson. It’s a trend. Will they be breaking into churches next to smash stained glass windows and pull down Christ on the Cross?

And will the churches bow down (literally) to the mob, open the doors and invite them in to do whatever they want to?

(link) Black Lives Matter activist Shaun King called Monday for the removal of statues, murals and stained glass windows that depict Jesus as a “white European,” which he claimed “are a form of white supremacy. Yes, I think the statues of the white European they claim is Jesus should also come down,” King, a former surrogate on Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders’s 2020 presidential campaign, wrote on Twitter. “They are a form of white supremacy. Always have been.”

MANY (clearly not all) major religious leaders and their congregants have joined with corporate America, and have been sending money to feeder groups such as NAACP, Media Matters, or directly to Black Lives Matters and ANTIFA to the tune of well over a billion dollars over the last month. Some on this blog have called it Danegeld, and I think that’s on point.

Now the domestic terrorists will likely be entering YOUR church and ripping down religious symbols in self righteous rage. Will you let them? Will you bend your knee and “worship” Black Lives Matter the way many police chiefs have, the way many of your politicians have?

We’ve seen civic leaders across America encourage the mob to tear down statues of people who built the country including President George Washington. Will church leaders do the same?

  1. I suppose we will find out who the real churches are, and who among them has “the faith” to defend God’s house. Far too many, including their congregants, have already shown they are weak, rolling over at the whim of local “authorities” who usurped power they did not have. (Okay for the first month, beyond that, no.)

    When society leadership allows the rats to run lawlessly through the land, and the media sanitizes every bad behavior, then places the good on trial while deifying the bad, only one outcome to restore law and order can result. And it won’t be pretty. (Isaiah 5:20)

    This is the Zombie apocalypse, just not the Hollywood version.

    • There are a lot of progressive church people. As you suggest, we will see how they react to desecration.

  2. Jesus was a Jew, wasn’t he? I look at the people of Israel and to me that is what he looks like. Arabs may be a little darker, but they aren’t black – not all of them. I think this Shaun person is wrong.

    All we need now is a Thunderdome…

    • Jesus was a Jew. He looked like other Jews of his time. The Jewish soldiers of the day needed Judas to identify him because he looked like the other apostles. What more can I say. The BLM people are wrong about everything, which is a challenge, because a stopped clock is right twice a day.

      • People fail this simple detail. While the Bible does not describe Jesus (it’s not particularly relevant), one can can make solid assumptions same as you (plus as a carpenter he was likely in decent shape). The text you point to is the crux.

        The more modern surfer dude depiction allowed him to be more “accessible” in those times. BLM will say this is white privilege…but no rational person cares what they think.

        • In many quarters the velvet paintings of Elvis are transformed into Jesus by adding long hair. I find modern pictoral depictions of Jesus to be almost satirical but that’s just me. People in that place and time (including the Romans) wore short hair. Most of the people in Judea in that age wore beards, but their hair was short. Art also shows an cadaverously thin Jesus on the Cross, but he was a well built man in the prime of life, like the fishermen that he associated with.

          But none of that matters.

          In this country you can watch Talagega Nights (praying to infant baby Jesus) or Jesus singing lead vocal for Lynyrd Skynyrd (same movie). Up to you. It’s a free country.

          BLM and the Progressives don’t like that whole free country when it applies to YOU – but it’s cool when it applies to them, because they are spiritually pure and you are not.

  5. Down South, south of the Mason-Dixon line, and back in the bad old days, any number of black congregation church buildings were burned to the ground. The leaders and pastors didn’t want to stand for it, but couldn’t do much about it.

    These days, I couldn’t begin to guess. In the 1960s I would have said that the congregation would have armed themselves and prevented the destruction. These days? It depends on the congregation and the church leadership – the pastor and the elders.

    • Down South, south of the Mason-Dixon line, even back in the day a few black churches that were set on fire were done by… blacks.

      Most modern black church arsons are committed by blacks, for publicity, for money, for revenge.

      Very few black church fires are actually hate-crimes (hate that designation) committed by ‘white supremacists.’

      Most ‘hate crimes’ committed ‘against’ black people are committed by… black people. Again, either for publicity or for revenge.

      Jesse Smollett was not a fluke. Just look at the actions of Reverends Sharpton, Jackson and Farrakan.

        • There are good Christian churches that follow Jesus Christ. Then there are Christian churches that endorse sodomy, abominations in general and re-donate the money you give to the NAACP, Black Lives Matter and Antifa. They are definitely not all the same.

  7. We may well be approaching a new Dark Ages with these simpletons.

    Somethin’ just tells me it’s going hot this summer….or at least gonna get real warm in places.

    • We went through impeachment, Chinese Plague, recession, recovery, riots and zombies, and I now planned attacks on Christian symbols. I have no idea what’s next – space aliens land?
