Thoughts for the Weekend

1. Another site I visited this morning kept referring to Amy Barrett as ‘Open Arms Amy’, as they were suspicious as to how squishy she would be on immigration. Can’t say I know that much about her stance on that issue.
   For that list of companies, I already don’t do business with most of them – so I guess they don’t miss me much. Regarding rotary shavers; I found an outfit that sells sharpening stones built to fit into those that can resharpen the blades, so I don’t have to buy replacements as often.

   • It’s impossible, due to her limited time on the bench, to figure out if she’s an “open armer.” The only thing that makes me uncomfortable is her membership in the charismatic group People of Praise.

     • It will be difficult to find the perfect person who would be embraced by all conservative factions. President Trump can’t pick a sitting US senator, needed to vote. And by all accounts, it would be better if he selected a woman.

       Amy Barrett will be attacked by conservatives too for not being conservative enough. Democrats tend to rally behind a candidate, Republicans often do not close ranks. Mitt Romney will likely vote against her because President Trump nominated her.

       • With Mitt as an opponent, that speaks well of her.

         • I don’t think that Mitt will say much. This is why. His fellow Senator Mike Lee (R-UT) is on the list for the Supreme Court. Mike’s brother Thomas is also on the list and he sits on the Utah Supreme Court. If Mitt goes full asshole, as he is want to do, the Lee brothers will have exactly 0 chance of being nominated to the Supreme Court in a Trump administration.

2. Do you think McConnell has the balls?

   • He said that he would.

     • The turtle held his ground on leaving Merrick Garland off the bench. He did good then, he will do it again.

       • I think that the term the left uses is “War Turtle”.

3. Reading the tea leaves this might happen next week, chat’s between Trump and McConnell already occurred and Mitchy is ready to go.

   Trump knows what he’s doing and has a nice list, Barrett was runner up to Kavenaugh on that round. From what I know of her, she is a strong constitutionalist, obviously a woman, mother, wife (of an actual man), and an intelligent and decent person…everything the Dem’s hate. Aside from those things what could they dream up to attack/disqualify her for…that 30 years ago she was a serial cake baker for her kids homeroom?

   • The whole “wife of an actual, biological man who self-identifies as male,” will grate hard with the LGBTQ crowd. The “decent person” test will grate on the donkeys as a whole.

     But look how much the left hates Justice Thomas, who is a black man. He’s a conservative, which makes him eternally ‘not black enough’.

     They’d hate anyone put forward unless it was a card carrying communist, BLM leader, trans-whatever, who personally ran an abortion clinic.

     • So based on that it wouldn’t have mattered if she used brown sugar instead of white sugar in the homeroom cupcakes, they’d still hate her because she’s not a Marxist. Got it, crystal clear now.

       Let the wacko games begin.

       • There is a lot of chatter on the wire about how negroes and anarchists will rise up. I think that talking heads forget that there are far more patriots (of all races) who have been remarkably quiet, hoping that the system would work. To quote Yamamoto (and DRJIM), there is a sleeping giant and that giant will only tolerate so much bullshit.

   • As I said on the radio this morning, although I am not a misogynist, every woman on the bench has been a disaster.

     • Be that as it may, I can’t see President Trump nominating a man at this point.

       • Best pray hard about it.

4. There are three women on President Trump’s list. All are good picks, all are conservative, and I think that we would be well served by any of them.

5. What I’ve read of Judge Barrett looks good to me so far though I suppose I should look deeper. She certainly seems to check most of the boxes that inspire hatred in the left. They have no one to blame but RBG herself. She could have, and should have, retired five years ago. Her health issues and age would have justified it. If she had we would likely have a younger version of her in the court now. Of course it works out better this way.

   • She or the other two women on Trump’s list are all good choices. There is no such thing as a perfect choice.

6. I think that Antonin Scalia was assassinated so that the Lefties could get control of the Supreme Court before Obama left office. I base this belief on all of the Deep State bullpucky that has come to light in the last four years. I think McConnell had rumors of the operation and that is what drove him as much as precedence to not even allow for a vote on Merrick Garland.

   I hope that McConnell goes ahead and gets a new person on the Court before the Election as this will give a fairly solid 5-4 conservative majority since Roberts is a major squish.

   As I have had God act with Miracles in my life, I think the passing of RGB is another given to us if we act rightly upon it. I am saddened for her family but she did try to hang on to prevent Trump from making another appointment which shows the total political bent of the Left.

   • Roberts is not trustworthy. Witness Obamacare.

     I hope that it works out, and we get a good and faithful person who will interpret the Constitution the way that they are supposed to.

   • They did rule his death as natural pretty quickly, but sometimes that happens. Though, yes, whacking Scalia at the time he died did screw up the rulings on several key cases.

     It does make me wonder.

     • I read the theories that somebody whacked him. And it could have gone down like that. Sitting on the outside, well away from the findings and the nitty-gritty, it’s difficult to say.

7. Diversity on the Court! Someone who isn’t Harvard or Yale Law.

   • Yeah…right…dreamer.

     • Satan’s Vaticans hold sway, WSF.

       • Aarg!

         • Far more money than the actual Vatican, obvs.

         • More political clout too.

8. I agree, LL, thanks to the weird dysfunction of our times it probably has to be a woman, and Amy seems as good as anyone, maybe better. Then again, she’s not a wymxn so that the commies will hate her as they hate everything.

   • She has 5 children of her own and she and her husband adopted 2 Hatian orphans. Which means that two of her kids are black – and the left will REALLY hate her for that.

9. Just had a talk with SLW about the upcoming November “festivities”.

   We’re pretty well-stocked on stuff now, but she agreed it might get spicy, and we should double-stock NOW while we can get things that might be in short supply in 45 days or so…..

   • It never hurts to have a few extra steaks in the freezer, and a few rolls of toilet paper.

     You know, DRJIM, that there will become a tipping point where the people who are rioted upon will stop being tolerant and hoping that the police do their duty. When that happens, things will get really interesting.

     • As to toilet paper? I’ll have a confessional post coming up soon since I just took stock of my toilet paper. Sooooo…..just between you and me, I have 168 rolls of toilet paper (yeah – you read that right.)
       That’s what happens when you don’t pay attention to what you already have before grabbing another 30 or 48 pack at Costco and a bunch of 18 packs at Wallyworld.

       • 168? is that all? what’s your address, i’ll send you some until you can stock up. its going to be a long tp-less winter. all those sheep that bought out the tp have used it all up by now, lol.

         • Thanks, River. Now I don’t feel so bad. When the Wuflu first hit I didn’t have to buy TP for four months and that including giving scads away to friends. If this cranks up again I figure I’m good for at least a couple of years.

         • It all depends on how many of your liberal relatives flee to North Idaho and beg sanctuary. 168 rolls might go quick.

10. well my thoughts…scalia was epsteined. conservative replacements have been a total disappointment. roberts went to epstein’s island, kavanah likely has another skeleton they didn’t use so they could control him once on the bench. knowing nothing about this lady, i can’t help but conclude that if she gets confirmed she’s compromised. it’ll be fun watching the libs squall even louder until the election. after the election i think i’ll unplug for a couple months until the screaming subsides a little. likely it’ll go on four more years. hopefully i’ll be busy taking virginia back. sic semper tyrannis. God save the republic.

    • Based on what I’ve seen and heard, people who prosper in the Beltway (or any seat of power) are only allowed into the club after people have something on them. Epstein’s Island was a famous site for initiation and I wonder what has taken its place. Barack was a queer. Bush 2 had his family to prop him up, and there are plenty of skulls and bones in that family.

      President Trump had stuff, and the donkeys played that card and nobody cared. Just like they didn’t care that Barack scammed his way through life, using Indonesian passports and sucking pole. The old tried and true methodology of compromise didn’t work.

      It extends down from the top, of course, and exists in corporate America as well. But in an age where being a tranny, marxist, who beats small children is glorified, it must take a great deal of dirt to make upper echelons comfortable promoting people.

      • Nice Hat Trick…all true of course. Interetsing how conservative folks get the third degree while the libs and left get a free pass on every character flaw, obvious criminality, etc. Gloves are off, people have had enough and the retaliatory pushback is long overdue, but on its way.

        Trump already said “this week, and a woman”. Dems are toast, having overplayed their nefarious hand, and I think they know it.

        • I think it will be Amy Barrett. She adopted two Hatian orphans and the pictures of her family will include those two black lives. It’s going to be difficult to brand her a “racist”.
