Oh, yeah, it’s a party isn’t it?

Inspire us in the comment section. What are you doing that’s fun? Because the weekend under quarantine is a lot like the weekdays under quarantine.  I may go for a drive. And yes, I’ll be careful at the gas pumps. I wear surgical gloves to pump gas. And if that strikes you as weird, what doesn’t strike you as weird these days?

I’m sure that most of you recall when Playboy magazine reportedly offered Sarah Palin $4,000,000 to pose nude in an upcoming issue. And then National Geographic offered Michelle Obama $50?

Then KFC offered a Hillary meal to customers consisting of two small breasts and two large thighs. Now, KFC is offering the Nancy Pelosi special. It consists of nothing but left wings and chicken shit.

  1. Not mch to do when one simply stays at home and now it's raining again so I'm stuck indoors. I checked the TCM app last night saw that Bullitt was available so I watched that. Best car chase ever and done without CGI. They also had Sand Pebbles on the list so I may watch that today. Thank God for Steve McQueen films.

  2. Well – let's see. Yesterday I managed to stick to my morning routine by writing in my journal and praying. Then I cut my hair, took a shower and made "tuna delight©" for dinner. It was not good. No, siree. It was fabulous and super tasty ladled on top of backed potatoes.

So – today I will finally get to that exercise that didn't happen yesterday right after yogurt, journal, and live-stream Mass.

We're expecting a bunch of rain over the next week so today I'll scatter about a bunch of left over grass seed. Germination rate has probably dropped, but at least it will make good mulch.

Then the colored pencils will come out and I will try and actually do something with them. I usually create in oil paint, so this should be interesting.

Tomorrow is Passion Sunday and the Introit is very apt:

Judge me, O God, and distinguish my cause from the nation that is not holy: deliver me from the unjust and deceitful man. For thou art God my strength: why hast thou cast me off? and why do I go sorrowful whilst the enemy afflicteth me? Sent forth thy light and thy truth: they have conducted me, and brought me unto thy holy hill, and into thy tabernacles. And I will go in to the altar of God: to God who giveth joy to my youth. To thee, O God my God, I will give praise upon the harp: why art thou sad, O my soul? and why dost thou disquiet me? Hope in God, for I will still give praise to him: the salvation of my countenance, and my God.

    Have a good day, LL

  3. Blogging, clean the garage, work on the boat, clean and lube the guns (again).
Not on the radio this weekend. Locked out of the studio.

  4. Pretty normal weekend…and no need to go to town (we're good on TP).

We WERE headed north to look at a horse but Springtime in the Rockies went from 60 on Thursday to 21 this morning (guess Spring didn't get the memo). With yesterdays few inches of frozen white rain (aka. snow) and a stiff wind, icy roads with a trailer is no fun. Instead we're doing some dead tree work to replenish the wood stack, a couple of fence repairs, and general chores and projects around the place that invariably get backburnered over the Winter.

Evenings are left for decompressing with a movie from the DVD library or streaming a show…and digging into the popcorn stash. Tomorrow we'll stream a sermon.

Never a dull moment, as is our preference.

  5. The way I look at it is that the week is just like the weekend on Virus Vacation.

I am super lazy and not a worrier, so I am having a great time.

Plenty to entertain me around here between the computer the TV and books. I go out foraging once in a while, and I love driving around too.

  6. I spent this morning helping some neighbors out with snow-related matters, while on the phone with China. Now, I'm home. I just bought a large, electric start Craftsman snow blower from a neighbor. He figures that winter is over now. I think that he's right.

  7. Been doing a little gardening. If I forget to wear gloves at the gas station, I use a 'wet wipe'. But last time we got fuel, I did wear gloves.

  8. I am a one man shop so work, such as it is, continues for me. The demand for custom furniture has dropped off a bit as of late. I have one commission and several small repair/refinish projects that will keep me going fo another month at least. After that I am uncertain. But for the meantime I can continue working as my job requires very little contact with people.

I have been reading much more lately and am currently re-reading The Lord of the Rings. I used to do so ever couple of years ever since I first read it as a child but have not done so for almost a decade. It is my most favorite work in all of literature and reading it now is comforting to me.
I have been a performing musician my entire life, made my living by it as a young man. My band has been working in the studio and now that live performance is out of the question, we are turning our attention to our web presence and working on issuing new material and revising older work. we will be setting up for video and live streaming soon and working on fully developing our online presence.

I am also a miniature model maker and figure painter and have been turning my attention to that once again. I make fantasical creatures, miniature terrain and architectural models much like what is done for model railroads but mine is geared towards fantasy and science fiction gaming.
So along with the usual "honey-do's" and yardwork/garden prep etc I am able to keep quite busy.

We are living in The Twilight Zone for real and all the signposta are awry, stay safe and sane out there everyone, and Good Luck.

  9. I have located some dead and dying hairy red heart juniper and I have a friend near me who owns a saw mill. Once the ground dries out, the work begins on a dining room table. I'm not much of a carpenter but I have a neighbor who will help (not the guy with the mill, another guy).
