The Chinese Fire Drill…

Blog Post

No Longer Politically Incorrect!

Chinese medical professionals are conducting a fire drill (above), so yes, it is done. I don’t know if this was in concert with one of Mike_C’s clinical trials, but apparently, they are referenced by PhDs all the time.

Still for Sale

For those of you who may have forgotten, the new (soon to be best-selling) novel, Broken Toys is still available, though electrons are limited as is tree pulp, so nobody knows how long it will be. Get your copy now while supplies of electrons and trees remain. As usual, thank you to Jules for all of the artwork that helps to make the book appealing.

News reports of a run on these soon to be best selling books, crowds fighting over the last copies at an unspecified Walmart somewhere in the American South are now confirmed. People were trampled, hospitalizations took place. The police responded to restore order. I advise you to buy popcorn and wait for late breaking news.

One of my guys is working on my behalf to sell the movie rights to Broken Toys. If any of you know people who would be interested in the 100th day of the Writer’s Strike, please let them and let me know…I’m not a union writer. While no screenplay exists, I have written and sold screenplays (but it’s been a few years). I don’t tend to mesh comfortably with Hollywood types (including people you’ve heard of) sitting in H-Wood at the Coffee Bean listening to their endless pontification and world views. I’m good for a polite fifteen minutes. After that, I have people who can sit there and babysit them.

The Avia S-199 Sakeen

It’s a Czechoslovakian-built Bf 109 G, however, there were no DB 605 engines to equip the aircraft with, so it was powered by the less powerful Junker Jumo 211F engine. The aircraft was introduced into service in 1948, and quickly made a name for itself, for being just a horrible fighter. It was underpowered, unreliable, unresponsive and severely lacked firepower, and was finally retired in 1957.

Bullet Points:

** Fake Meat – today there is fake meat available. Vegans say that they use it to fill a void. It’s odd, but Lesbians say the same thing.

** Carlson narrates a political ad.

** (Fox) Netanyahu and Putin are to speak before the Russian president is expected to meet this week with Chinese leaders in Beijing on a visit that underscores China’s support for Moscow during its war in Ukraine. Russia and China have forged an informal alliance against the United States and other democratic nations that is now complicated by the Israel-Hamas war.

** Israel needs to clean out 300 miles of Hamas’ tunnel network north of Wadi Gaza. For those of you who who have fought through rubble from destroyed buildings with people coming up through tunnels around you, there should be an understanding of how complicated this undertaking it. That’s why they have Engineers units (WSF/Frank-the-Tank) may concur.  Bring demo. Leave no voids behind. Ground penetrating radar is helpful but the terrorists dug deep and that’s an enduring problem. And 300 miles of napalm is a lot of napalm…

** Jules reminds us that winter is coming with – Frost.

** The Race to the DanAfter the Battle of Cowpens, General Daniel Morgan began a rapid retreat north to put some distance between him and Lord Charles Cornwallis’s 2,500-battle hardened veterans who were coming their way. To gain time, General Nathanael Greene, the commander of the southern Continental Army, split his force, sending Colonel Otho Williams and a light corps on a different route, hoping to pull Cornwallis away from the slow-moving main army. Tom Hand, creator and publisher of Americana Corner, discusses the Race to the Dan, a series of brilliant maneuvers that had the Americans covering 200 miles on muddy, barely passable roads through almost uninhabited country and over four rivers, and why it still matters today.

** “I need to find a killer. A man who will do murder but who isn’t a total sociopath. Do you know how hard that is to find? The Army ain’t the best place to look. The plain truth is that most soldiers are motivated to fight by group pressures, not because they’re murderers by nature. Some of them think they’re killers because the business of life taking is ladened with the baggage of false expectations. It’s just like sex in that respect. Killing produces the same satisfaction that accompanies masturbation. It’s a strange rite of manhood where killing becomes like sex and sex becomes like killing. The problem is finding one who will deliver the goods without remorse or guilt and won’t go off the reservation on me. I need somebody who will attack problems like a terrier shaking a rat.” — Walter Kennedy, CIA – Vientiane, Laos (White Powder: A Novel of the CIA and the Secret War in Laos) If you read it but didn’t review it yet, please take a moment and do that.

  1. Tunnels – too bad they can’t pump water from the nearby sea into the tunnels. Bet that would make things interesting.

    1. My same thought. Best way to eradicate pocket gophers in the pasture so why wouldn’t it work to eradicate Pocket Hamas in Gaza? Be a whole lot quieter Op.

      1. If they were able to emerge, the IDF could play whack-a-mole. Whatever will happen in North Gaza will happen without cameras rolling unless they’re IDF cameras. By creating an exclusion zone as they have, the establish their own playing field and they will play by their rules.

Maybe Iran will start another front from in Lebanon. The intelligence signals that. Will it pay off for them in the longer term? That’s a completely different question.

        1. The current crop of useless idiots are siding with Hamas over Israel, saying what Israel is doing in retaliation of being attacked in an horrific manner, is akin to that moron DA who tried to convince the jury tht Kyle Rittenhouse should have been shot first before he could claim self-defense. If the IDF can’t easily root out and eliminate Hamas terrorists then thy should bomb Gaza back into the stone age, bring in the D9’s to level it off in a regarding project, then let whomever wishes to rebuild do so.

Just remember, Joey Sponge Pants has this…yea, not so much.

Pretty sure I need to take my strong coffee out to the Pasture Sign and contemplate some good things as the sun rises, otherwise if I continue ruminating on the morons and maroons among us I might blow a gasket.

        2. then there’s 120k iranian guards and unknown thousands of jihadi’s lurking in southern syria waiting for the israelis to commit to gaza. armegeddon is set…..i would suggest agent bz, or nitrous oxide, pumped into the tunnels. hostages might survive that way.

    2. No. Not water.

The Israelis need to do the same damned thing we did in the Pacific. Pull up to a tunnel complex, pump it full of fuel, set it on fire and let it burn and burn and burn. Burn it till the concrete catches fire and burns. Pull up with tank mounted jet engines and just blast air and fuel into the tunnels and watch where the plumes of smoke and ejectii appear.

Continue until the surface temperature is hot to touch. Then fire in aerial bombs with timers and crack the blazing ground. Scorched earth.

Then make some supersized flail machines and just break up the surface and pound it into rubble. Continue until nobody is shooting at them.

Hell, pump industrial waste into the tunnels for all I care.

  2. A President, whether male or female (yup, only two versions), should be commanding, intentional in action, positive, yet should strike fear into our enemies and every two-bit dictator out there wanting to mess with us or our friends…hence Commander In Chief. He or she should be somewhat imposing by affect. Reagan had it, so did Thatcher, and PDJT does all of it easily, whereas the current Merry-Andrew-In-Chief projects weakness, incompetence, and treason.

Not a hard decision for rational normal thinking persons who want America to be the best She can be…that being the caveat, some don’t.

The Anarchists Among Us have a year, what will they do?

    1. If elected, could Pres. Trump govern in an upcoming term (or two terms)? It’s a sticky question. Could RFK? Both are independents. Where are the Republicans without Trump, considering that most of their candidates are RINOs – they might as well run Romney again.

The democrats seem to control their politicians. Maybe the word is discipline? But none of them want 4 more years of Jo/Ho. We’ve entered a surreal place in American politics.

      1. Carlson’s narration stated that a vote for #45 will be against the beltway swamp. Trump Washington! Vote for Donald! Are there any other viable options? IF the Hojo clown/ puppet show IS under the discipline of their party… then what will the back stabbing yellow belly Rhino’s do to #46? Oops, forgot to be PC. I mean #47. Agreed L.L it will be very revealing if the uniparty nominates another Mitt or Lame McCain.

  3. Miles of tunnels and hundreds of ventilation shafts. Did they stock them with only three days of food and water like their “civilian” supporters Did for their own families?

  4. If you get impatient during your interviews with Hollywood and punch some of them, I will pass the hat to get a medal struck for you.

Israel has a nuclear force, and yet none of the weapons have been tested in a long time – dangerous !

Gaza would be a great place for a nice, safe, underground test, and there aren’t any tunnels or anything on the city plans. Seems like a win-win.

    1. Gah. the older I get, the more dang typos/formatting errors. Maybe I need a defragment.

      -Kle.

  5. Tunnels. No experience in dealing with them. A friend was a “tunnel rat” in the late Vietnam unpleasantness. His experience was to turn the tunnels into traps by sealing entrances and then making the tunnels deadly to users. Water pumped in, if available. Spec 4 mafia improvised chemical warfare concoctions (frowned on by the REMF crowd). In one case 500 gallons of diesel from a blivet drained into a ventilation shaft was allowed to soak in for twenty minutes then ignited with a flare.

Whatever means the IDF uses my hope is that many evil scum perish.

    1. Read somewhere that during WWII, somewhere in the Pacific, they started a slow feed of gasoline into a tunnel entrance just so the denizens got a good chance to see what was coming. Any who wanted to walk out and surrender could, but that wasn’t how Japanese soldiers usually operated.

  6. I had to look.
    From 2021:
This book takes you on a roller coaster and through the looking glass of the players and powers ruling opium trade in Laos in the prelude to Viet Nam.
I am reminded of Gravity’s Rainbow done right.
    Enjoy!

  7. Re the Race to the Dan, my 6x and 7x grandfathers participated in that with Francis Marion (the Swamp Fox). Ironically, both 7x was a baptist preacher, and 6x was a teenager.
