Independence Class Littoral Combat Ship |
Maybe we could sell the LCS to the Cambodians or something? I don’t think that the Cambodians have enough money to operate the LCS. Ukraine has lost some ships to the Russians in the Black Sea recently. Maybe they would be a customer. This acquisition would enable them to lose more ships!
Weekend at the Mine
Even though I’m in full move mode, two of my girls and their children (two grandsons/three granddaughters) came by from AZ and CA to ‘help me’.
Olivia (youngest girl at center) suffered a bad sprain at home before coming. She got the cast on and headed for the High Country. Normally you’d think that would keep her from engaging in snowball fights, but her mother bagged her foot and she went out for a little bit to play with the big kids.
I love the smile on the face of Olivia, but then a little girl can wrap me around her finger with one of those as my granddaughters can all attest. Her first time in the snow?
LL,
In regard to the LCS,
At least it cost a lot of money, and
If they are close to shore vessels, how do you get them to somewhere the Coasties aren't responsible for?
Hah. In a cast, and still in the fight. That one has the heart of a warrior.
Hate to admit it but your grandkids are cuter than my grandkids.
What a successful vist! That smile just might melt your snow!
Maybe we could turn the LCS into a barrier reef?
No, Olivia lives in Prescott, AZ and they have snow there now as well. She just LOVES the snow.
They just plow along next to a tanker. There was no reason for them, but I expect you could doll them up to be a respectable decoy, expense notwithstanding.
Oh, you have NO IDEA. That one is full blooded pirate.
They're cute and they are my little buddies. I have three more grandsons who did not come up and visit. That will happen one day. I have room for the whole family of 8 kids/spouses and 9 grandchildren here at the shack. However the noise level when even a fraction of them are playing is like being on the flight line when the F-22's are taxiing for take off.
13 LCS's. A complete waste of time and taxpayer money. Yes, they could serve as an underwater habitat for fish.
What's wrong with those LCS's? THey look bad to the bone. They don't float? Looks like they are armed to the teeth.
And when has anybody been worried about tax payer money? Other than me?
They have one small gun and a helicopter. They're very progressive.
What a powerful sermon! Why not park the rubbish LCSs on the Rio Grande and fill 'em with miniguns and assorted auto weaponry.
Hey presto, a useful part of the WALL.
A floating pillbox with a helicopter landing pad. Turn it into a barge. It would be a useful fortress on the Rio Grande.
The Navy could sell the LCS's to New York for ferries.
That's what I was thinking.
The enviro's would scream.
And… turn unused space into jail cells. Handy prison hulk.
Good for Olivia! Looks like you and the grandkids are enjoying each other, which is what makes it all worthwhile.
Is there any (worthwhile, as opposed to geewhiz) tech integral to the LCS hulls and powerplants that the Chicoms don't have? If not, why not strip out the actually classified stuff and just GIVE the ships to China? They could waste vast amounts of money and man-hours trying to make the things useful. Sort of the 21st century maritime version of the white elephant. Better yet, let DiFi be the go between so she can take the blame.
But the scuba community would love them and they could work themselves into a commercial success.
It's a great idea, but doesn't go far enough. Book a booze cruise on one of them (or two) and invite the Democrat elite and leadership. Also invite community organizers like Sharpton. Take them out, chum for sharks and scuttle them. If they did a go-fund-me for that, I'd contribute.
Or use them as a base station for sport fishermen who are going after tarpon or something. Still a hulk, but sort of a hotel as well.
The Chinese might be able to make them useful…and that would be annoying. Or they may copy my whole booze cruise – chum for sharks – scuttle it with the opposition onboard concept. Which is to say that they'd be useful in a non-military way.
Concur on the Little Crappy Ships… sigh… And that acorn didn't fall far from the tree! 🙂
No matter the outside temp, the Little Ones warm things up.
Have they found any "secret places" yet?
I sent a storm your way. It's a two footer.
