The problem comes when there is more profit in certain sectors, in poverty and war than there is in prosperity and peace. The US has a public debt of $33.545 trillion with trillions more in unfunded (promised) debt because of social security and medicare entitlements. About that bridge – I suspect that a lot of viewers here have watched the movie. How many can whistle the march music? Flu shots – when I took them I would always come down with the flu, when I skipped them I would get the flu about 50% of the time. So…I stopped taking them some time ago.

Monarchy is only a figurehead.
Australia is barely in favour of a Monarchy. I favour it only as the proposed replacement last time was going to be a President appointed by other politicians not voted in. Five years terms with a possible extension from memory (1985 or so).
There was never any firm definition of the president’s powers. Right now government can be kicked out every three years. The idea of politicians having life time job to me is NO and I have met the person they were going to appoint. Definitely NO.
People like my wife oppose the change due to the massive expense involved in changing legislation and numerous other things the anti royals never give a price for.
Our government is not great but currently they are flying people free of charge from Israel.
They won’t want to establish anything that gives them less power.
It would be good if Harry and his wife found another home.
I’m thinking of a place but this is a family blog. Pretty sure Clarkson, with his usual candor, suggested somewhere in the Middle East. People living in a protective bubble need some reality.

Not that Complicated
No, it is not. But leave it to government morons and imbeciles to complicate the uncomplicated.
One can live intentionally or unintentionally (ie. allow life to happen to you vs. do life with purpose). Lib’s in government, and many people, do the former so everything goes to crap at their hands while those of us on the intentional team look at them with bewilderment.
Case in point: Have a “family” situation that was planned and agreed as a straight-forward operation to clear out the MIL’s home after 60 years, goal being to prep for sale. Unfortunately when the goal was soon to be reached (after an idiotic protracted time period between work visits that caused us to drive 1000 miles) all of a sudden the goal is now Spring (so the place sits empty all Winter). An ‘intentional” person cannot comprehend that laissez faire thinking.
Israel is another case in point (albeit to eradicate “the state”). They were left high and dry by the administration, open for attack…now they act all magnanimous saying they are “going to help”. I call BS.

Another case in point: Heading back from a town run, saw fresh smoke behind the homestead a little ways. Got home, saw it was about 10 miles West…which fo us is close. This is the 3rd time the geniuses have decided – on a stiff breeze day – to have a prescribed burn on a few hundred acres without giving a heads up to surrounding area residents (via reverse 911 or a pile of other ways we now have, like Text). Government geniuses operate within a bubble.
Case in Point #2: Have had a helo flying low – a few hundred feet off the deck – for a couple of days, same as last year (except that one had a missile radar tube below it). Turns out the government is redoing what that private firm was doing to check on surface minerals etc. Again, ZERO notice.
We rural folks like a little communication to avoid problems. Apparently this is lost on those from town offices who decide we don’t need to know what they are up to even if it invades rural properties. Guess I am renting from them after all.
They’re doing proscribed burning here, too, and it got out of control with 5,000 acres being burned to the ground. Any notice? No. If I walked outside, I could see 6 feet…that bad.
Face it, PaulM, we are “subjects” of an uncaring king. Maybe it sounds historically familiar. If you jump up and down and say, “I have sovereignty over my life and property,” those are the very words that the FBI uses to define “domestic terrorists”. Now if you hung out on a college campus, declaring yourself a castrati (in fact or whatever), supporting Hamas and the slaughter of babies – living and in utero, lapping from the government dole, you’d be cool. You’d be an American role model. Somebody might give you a medal. You could join Antifa and BLM and collect cash payments from them. And that is where we are today.

I visited the Bridge on the River Kwai in 1968 and it looked nothing like what was in the movie. All cement pilings no timbers. It was also in much flatter land versus close to mountains as depicted in the movie. The cemetery on a slight hill does not get the media attention that it deserves versus the bridge.

My brilliant granddaughter was a shoo-in appointment to the Naval Academy. The current woke attitudes turned her off. She made LtC in her high school NROTC and has been an honor student since Kindergarten. So happy to see her enrolled in Emery-Riddle studying Aeronautical Engineering on a huge scholarship. Navy’s loss.

Flu shot? Our doc was surprised and did the Spock eyebrow thingy when I firmly said “No.” Between lots of issues with meds and the Covidiocracy, I’ve lost faith in the medical profession as a whole. I barely tolerate our doctor and he’s a good one.
The Medical Profession blew it. They have lost all credibility over a lot of drugs they prescribe and support of fads over science. Screw them. Screw them all.
