**Record volumes of crude oil were imported into China during the first half of 2023 because of refinery expansions in the country and initiatives to reopen the economy after the government eased COVID-19 mobility restrictions.
China imported an average of 11.4 million barrels of crude oil per day (b/d) in the first half of 2023, a 12% increase from 2022’s annual average of 10.2 million b/d. In the first half of 2023, China’s crude oil imports increased from 8 of the 10 top countries it imported crude oil from in 2022, according to China’s General Administration of Customs data.
China sourced much of the additional crude oil it imported in the first half of 2023 from Russia, Iran, Brazil, and the United States. Compared with 2022 averages, China’s imports from Russia increased by 23% (400,000 b/d), from Saudi Arabia by 7% (130,000 b/d), and from Brazil by 49% (250,000 b/d).
The 2.6 million b/d of crude oil that China imported from Russia in June is the largest volume China has ever imported from any country in any month. China’s imports from the United States in the first half of 2023 more than doubled from 2022.
The USA needs to increase our capacity to refine petroleum 100%, and we need to enter the world energy market more forcefully. Revenues that come to the USGOV from that source should be applied to the national debt.
And while I’m on that rant, it’s time to reduce the federal work force by 20% and stop all payments to illegal aliens including free healthcare. Entitlements take up the bulk of the federal budget. I understand that everyone wants free cheese, but there is only 1/6 of the budget that is discretionary. It will take time and it will be painful but it’s the only way to fix the swamp.

I find it telling and amazing that all of us liked Johnny Quest cartoons. At a time cartoons were entertaining and even then were morphing into some weird prepubescent woke and deviant avenue of grooming. The cast of Johnny Quest were strong, viral and moral men and the women displayed weren’t bad either… Johnny Quest could not be made today with it’s same values we enjoyed Besides, we liked the cool planes, space vehicles and the cars and trucks and gadgets.
Mystery, science, and adventure piqued our interest, sort of a McGyver cartoon.
Reminiscent of the Tom Swift books.

The warnings are coming from outside of my blog and control. If they can’t hack, they pull that.

In the Urgent Care, neighbor buddy sliced his finger while re-working some barn metal. “Former” Marine, and just like most of us males who won’t go to the ER unless we’re half dead, looks at me and says, Ahh, tape it up, blood spurting already stopped and I need to finish the project.
