US Navy Jack – official jackstaff flag of the US Navy. |
For all of those wearing tin foil hats, claiming that the Obama Administration had it out for them in particular simply because they engaged in teaching classes about the US Constitution or attempted to raise money to support an agenda other than the President’s. You’ve officially been vindicated.
- Phase 1 (Late 2009/Early 2010) – 10 Tea Party cases were identified and targeted for harassment by the US Internal Revenue Service.
- Phase 2 (April 2010) 18 Tea Party Organizations targeted including 3 that had been approved for tax-exempt status.
- Phase 3 (June 2011) Over 100 conservative organizations were targeted by IRS – and by now the criteria for attack expanded to organizations with “Patriot”, “taxes”, “government debt” and “Constitution” in their names.
(ABC NEWS) The targeting of conservatives by the IRS started earlier and was more extensive than the IRS acknowledged last week, according to a draft IRS inspector general report obtained by ABC News.
The report, done by the Inspector General for the IRS, also shows that senior IRS officials in Washington was aware of what was going on as early as August 4, 2011 when, according to the report, the IRS chief counsel held a meeting with the IRS’s Rulings and Agreements unit “so that everyone would have the latest information on the issue.”

Based on what we’re seeing unfold primarily from the Inspector General’s report indicates that this sort of policy direction would have to come from the Secretary of the Treasury — who wouldn’t cough without Presidential approval.
This sort of conduct isn’t anything out of the ordinary in Chicago, but fortunately the nation traditionally holds a higher standard of ethics as the norm in these cases. I’m shocked that even the mainstream media has been reporting this. Naturally, they suggest that President Obama had no knowledge of this sort of widespread attack on his political opposition.
Congress needs to investigate and in due time, a special prosecutor needs to be appointed to hold those responsible CRIMINALLY accountable. Last Friday, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell called “on the White House to conduct a transparent, governmentwide review aimed at assuring the American people that these thuggish practices are not under way at the IRS or elsewhere in the administration against anyone, regardless of their political views.”
Unfortunately calling on the White House to police itself is along the lines of asking a serial rapist to voluntarily cut off his genitalia.
Everyone involved needs to go to PRISON (upon conviction). That is the sort of apology that will satisfy me.
ob seems to have a family history of disliking America. It shows. What a pity, that he was voted into office by racists.
Yes, it seems that Americans have been taking things for granted that they shouldn't have.
I was listening to Dick Morris yesterday, I only listened until I could reach the button to change the channel…but he said that when he heard Obama denounce the IRS vs the Tea Party stuff so clearly yesterday – it sounded like there is something there. That he (Morris) always advised his politicians to take the lead in denouncing and distancing ***and then came the part I didn't fully listen to*** that it didn't sound like Obama, it was a prepared answer, and it was too strenuous, to "..look I've always said the IRS is a third party…" for Obama – who believes nothing in Government should not be controlled.
There may be something to this…but by 'something' I mean a backlash, because nothing will stick to this President.
If the situation is not a wake-up call for America, what will it take?
