And your point LL? I never equated explosive diarrhea to a choppa dispensing countermeasure flares, but pondering it I see aptly see the comparison. I know I will never un-see that in my minds eye when I have that problem in the future.

Methane burns brightly. Thus, discharge well clear of a flame.
If your last meal was hot Thai, Indian, or Mexican (especially with habaneros), then a sudden explosive release of flares burning at 2-3,000° is entirely apt.
