Med Flood – due to man-caused global warming?
This is the first direct proof of a mega-flood in the Mediterranean Sea region six million years ago.
Geologists from Utrecht, London and Granada have found the first direct proof of the largest known mega-flood that ever occurred on earth. This mega-flood ended what is known as the ‘Messinian Salinity Crisis’, a period around six million years ago when the water level in the Mediterranean Sea sank by around 1.5 km, causing an extreme environmental crisis in the region. The authors studied sandstone that was exposed along the southern coast of Sicily and concluded that it was formed by a powerful flow from the western Mediterranean Sea towards the east. The water flowed over a barrier that separated what were then isolated basins in the western and eastern Mediterranean region. Their research was recently published in the journal Sedimentology.

And yet we got rid of all of the -47s and kept the -51s. The later Jugs were on par or exceeded the performance of the Mustangs, from speed to range to carrying capacity.

Lots of questions as to why the P-47 was never sent to Korea…that no one has ever answered. Can we just ban California and be done with it? Or give it back to Mexico???
I appreciate the sentiment, but hells no. I’m a midwestern boy living in Massatuchets (sic, and for my sins) but California is the most beautiful and astonishing state. Heck, in San Bernardino County alone you can go from the High Desert (cowboy-movie land) to Swiss-alpine Crestline to the apple orchards of Oak Glen (surpassing even my fond childhood memories of apple picking in the upper Midwest) in half a day.
And don’t get me started on Sonoma wines, or sunset in the Marin Headlands, or the fog-wreathed descent into Mendocino. Out, out with the freaks and monsters running CA. But we should keep it.
California was a fun place. It could be that way again.
