Bullet Points:
** Stop saying that I’m hard to shop for. You know where the gun store is.
** It’s strange to come to grips with the fact that at this time of year, your true love will have given you 23 birds in six out of the first seven days. You’ll be excited by five golden rings on day five, but on day six, you’re back to geese. What if you don’t like birds? By the time the twelve days of Christmas, you’ll have received fifty servants, which raises the question of whether your true love is a snakehead (Asian human trafficker).
** Execution by cannon in India c. 1890s.

Aside from being a waste of good gunpowder, this seems a bit extravagant and extreme. A bullet or a guillotine is far more cost-effective for the same amount of public education. Everywhere you go, people want drama. There’s an article on Wikipedia.
As you will have noticed, the person to be executed is a colored person/person of color, and the execution squad is in violation of a number of contemporary DEI rules. Of course, in 1890, things ran differently.

German Cuisine in Southern California

DRJIM, did you ever eat here? It’s a photo of the first Wienerschnitzel as Der Wienerschnitzel opened on July 3rd,1961, at 1362 Gulf Ave Wilmington, CA. (at PCH) Hot dogs were $.12 each,
Five Wives Vodka Logo

Barrison Sisters, the “wickedest girls in the world,” show their “kittens” beneath their skirts. c.1890
In 2011, Five Wives Vodka was introduced in Utah, where it quickly became a local favorite.
Was it the tongue-in-cheek humor reference to “polygamy”? Was it based on the western tale of the first settlers coming to Utah in wagons with a hundred men and five women? I can’t say.

You’re correct, Surly, got it in 2 minutes…mid-day. I thought that others might have had a chance to win VM Green Stamps. But no… People are worried about AIs. They should be.
There is a Wienerschnitzel in Fife, WA. I stopped there couple of years back. I still like the taste of their chilidogs.
Took me 4 tries and 2 different browsers to get to your blog on my phone today. Chrome/Blogger kept redirecting me to spam/let me send you notification pages (different ones); and Brave first sent me to a duck, duck,go search that had nothing to do with your blog before finally bringing me here
I’ve not trusted AIs since before the big push telling me I have to have one everywhere.
You all be safe and God bless.
And Merry Christmas, in case I can’t get back here again.
I’ve seen that on my table a few times too. Prep work for the internet ‘lock down’ prior to the election. Only ‘trusted’ sites will be allowed back up and running, just in time. So says Alex Jones. When was he ever right….. besides quite a few times last election.
Are you suggesting that this is not a woke-friendly site? I have pictures of Barack, Big Mike, and their adopted kids here on VM. That screams family friendly.
Don’t forget we were chatting about veganism and broccoli…more proof.
If only it were possible to virtue signal even more completely by eating non-biological broccoli. Maybe green dirt molded to appear to be broccoli?
At least they weren’t holding beavers.
Mr. Bondarenka!
It was a sausage fest until they adopted the two little girls.
I fear we’re a bad influence on EdB.
Ed can do that to himself… Just look at who he calls friends! ;-)
ROTFLMAO!
We inherited some beaver and seal from my grandmother. Wife made a nice cap lined with beaver for her, and had some left over so she made me a cap with her leftover beaver.
Me, being a sick bastard, while wearing my cap, went up to one of our friends (who knew about said beaver) and asked him if he wanted to pet my wife’s beaver.
Yeah, I am an a-hole.
By the way, beaver fur is really nice and soft, but seal fur is soooo much softer.
Wearing said beaver lined hats would piss off certain acquaintances. Wearing real fur is a great way to identify leftist jerkwads.
I enjoyed your charming infographic of the cute girls and their adorable kitties, then we got to the closing Kwanza card. Kyrie Eleison.
And yes, firing mutineers from canons was customary, did for the Mutiny. Just imagine all those sepoys lined up in squares to watch their leaders face their rebellious fate. Well it worked, crickets in that space till Gandhi.
It’s too soon to wish you a Happy Kwanza, LSP. I’ll save that for later.
Thanks to your comment I went to refresh my knowledge of the inventor of Kwanza, Doctor Doctor (yes two doctorates, you racists) Maulana Ndabezitha Karenga (literally “great teacher and keeper of traditions who towers above his enemies”), formerly known by the slave name of Ron Everett. What a great man. A great, great man.
In the process, I just now learned the term “Négritude”. This is not some cousin-humping, swastika-tattooed whytte debil dog whistle. This is a francophone scholarly term. One who studies, or practices Négritude is a “Négritudist”. O! Frabjous day! Callou, calloy! My day is complete. “What a wonderful world!”
I practice Kujichagulia every day…thanks to Kwanza.
I want to hear him recite that out loud..had to read it twice. Wow.
(Imagine grading one of his HS Bluebook essay tests…tough job.)
Easiest job in the world: “F-minus, you bigot!”
Don’t think I could say all that out loud. No idea how to pronounce “Ndabezitha”. But pretty sure it’s NAY-gree-too-DEEST. (Man, what a wonderful word. 😍)
Can we consider a grade lower than F-minus that will be handed out to climate deniers?
Those “gals” have got to be part of an adult-level Grimm’s Fairy Tale entitled Do Not knock on that farmhouse door!”…subtitled Ruuunnnn!!
Geez…I can feel the crazy from here.
Ps. Speaking of “do not’s”…how can those two former White House inhabitants have kept their secret for so long? Gotta be people who know the truth (well, maybe the personal chef found out and look what happened to him and subsequent hiding of the case). Just look at “her”, kinda obvious regardless the amount of estrogen ingested.
The face that would make a train take a dirt road to avoid it.
I’m stealing that…perfection.
I can feel the crazy from here. You need the vodka. A lot of vodka.
“The gals” are being used to sell a lot of wodkah…like Michelin star ratings on restaurants were designed to get people to drive further to better eats than the local Mainstreet Diner, wore out their tires faster. Everything is sales and marketing.
We do have a bottle of Aalborg Akvavit Jubilaeums in the freezer, direct from the motherland, will have to suffice.
In my professional opinion I concur, crazy with a capital K X5…
Maybe they were really charming and demure? hahahahah
Pursuant to discussion on the previous posting, there’s a Wienerschnitzel franchise in Abilene, Texas. Presumably GFW2 has found that one already. I’m not 100% sure, but it appears to might maybe be the same chain. I used to eat at the one in Bryan 40 years ago (ermagosh, has it really been that long ago?).
Rudolph. So I remember watching the cartoon (or animation, whichever) with my dad when I was little. The reindeer made me angry.
D: what’s wrong?
MC: The reindeer are jerks. They were mean to Rudolph for no good reason, until he turned out to be useful. Then they pretended to be his friend. They shouldn’t have been mean to him at all. He couldn’t help looking funny.
D: [stares at me, then long sigh] Son, that’s the best description of the work world that you’ll ever see. Remember that.
I didn’t even know how to articulate what really bugged me. It wasn’t that the reindeer were metaphorically fellating Rudolph because he was USEFUL. They were slobbering over him because their authority figure publicly praised him. They weren’t even Utilitarian, they were just hypocritical suck-ups.
You are being too succinct… Go play with your elves.
The work world doesn’t rely on gravity because of the other suction.
Cederq: “Elen síla lúmenna omentielvo” to you too, ya dirty bastige. 🧝🏼♂️
(Who knew there was a Elf emoji!)
Mike_C, In truth I had to look that up, “A star shines on the hour of our meeting” I didn’t watch the movie or read any of the books, so I was ignorant. Now, my departed saintly Irish mother would have said that at the moment of my birth at 7:31AM…
Oh, before I forget, thank you for recognizing I am a dirty bastige! My work here has just begun in earnest.
Geez Mike, now you ruined it for me…my whole life illusion gone. You’re like my older brother who – according to mom – came out wanting to hang out with the adults. Me? For sure am a Misfit Toy Island type.
I posted up five women for you!
Not touching that.
Sorry. ☹️
Honestly that was brilliant…at least you kept Burl Ives off target.
I agree about not being hard to shop for. Gift certificate for local gun shops would work.
Considering something in .357 for pistol and lever action. Just as fun items / occasional hunting. Something smaller than my usual 30-06 or friends .375. Shoulders not as young as they were.
My wife did ask me the other day if I needed another gun safe. Not sure where we would put a third one. But a good idea.
I suggest that you consider building a gun ROOM/Vault.
My wife got me a Heritage Rough Rider.
Early Christmas gift.
Der Wienerschnitzel Lawton, OK 1973. chili dogs six for $1.00.
I’ve always liked Der Wienerschnitzel, when we are visiting San Diego.

M-10, what an absolute waste of money. I remember when the Army, in its infantile wisdom, wanted a mobile gun system based on the 105 mm cannon. On a UDLP tour in PA, I saw ye ole Crusader tracked artillery system along with what looked like the current M-10. The Crusader gun was on a standard M-109A6 carriage but not for US sales, only foreign sales. All in all, the contractor wanted to sell the Crusader and the ammo carrier as one big costly program.
Sorry that I digress. The Army discounted a tracked solution to the light tank need hence the Stryker mobile gun system…with the 105 mm. Now that has fallen out of political favor and so here comes the M-10. I wonder who the retired stars were involved in getting this program? Some things never change.
watched one of them pancake into the drop zone during r&d about 1995. that version with alloy hull turned out to be too heavy, snapped the chutes off on exit. thirty years later they’re still at it, getting paid all that time. gotta love it. embrace the suck.
I’ve eaten at a DW, but not that one. My time in SoCal taught me “Wilmas” is a NOGO place….
