Dr. Barbara Bellar is running for the State Senate in Illinois.
She sums up ObamaCare in one sentence and renders her diagnosis:
We’re going to be gifted with a healthcare plan we are forced to purchase,
and fined if we don’t,
which puportedly covers at least 10 million more people,
without adding a single new doctor,
but provides for 16,000 new IRS agents,
written by a committee whose chairman says he doesn’t understand it,
passed by a congress that didn’t read it but exempted themselves from it,
and signed by a president who smokes,
with funding administered by a treasury chief who didn’t pay his taxes,
for which we will be taxed for four years before any benefits take effect,
by a government which has already bankrupted social security and medicare,
all to be overseen by a surgeon general who is obese
and financed by a country that’s broke.
So, what the blank could possibly go wrong?
Well done on her part! 🙂
I was just thinking…even if you were for socialized medicine, and didn't understand how it will lower quality, increase demand, reduce supply, etc., etc., – would you automatically think that having not one single Republican vote for it, having it create additional IRS agents, being 2700 pages, etc., was a bad way to make laws?
Not if you're "progressive" or a member of the mainstream media.
I know, she nails it, doesn't she?
Thank you Obama for "gifting us" with this albatross.
It's amazing that Dr. Bellar comes from the state that brought Obama to the White House. I wonder if people have enough integrity to put this articulate lady into the Illinois Legislature? The dead vote (Democrat) in that state.
I was talking with some people in California, and they told me that they are against "parts" of Obamacare but not all of it. OMG. We better pray we control both houses and the presidency to get rid of it.
The Legislature should have put some key healthcare measures into place to deal with preexisting conditions, portability and opening insurance markets nationwide instead of allowing for crony protectionism within statutes. HOWEVER, ObamaCare needs to be repealed and as Governor Romney has said, allow each state to decide how they want to deal with healthcare.
The dead do indeed vote for the Democrat of their choice in Chicago reliably each election. A lot of them voted for Obama. His community outreach, registering headstones, was a triumph of his work as an organizer in Chicago.
