No, I’m not in trouble. It is May Day, though, sort of a communist holiday, so I’m not celebrating. May Day, also known as International Workers’ Day or Labor Day in many countries. The communists like to joke that they’re in favor of the little people, though in most places they are the darlings of the elite (your betters) – though they’re always aggrieved, always triggered, and though they’re worth billions, they’re also horribly oppressed. They’re the pigs in Orwell’s Animal Farm.
In George Orwell’s Animal Farm, the pigs, particularly Napoleon and Squealer, represent the rise of totalitarianism and the abuse of power, making them a symbol of what it means to be “Orwellian.” The pigs, especially Napoleon, exploit the other animals for their benefit, manipulate them with propaganda, and ultimately become indistinguishable from the oppressors they rebelled against.
When I think of Squealser the pig, I am drawn to the image of Bernie Sanders, a famous American communist and legislator. We see pigs as lazy, fat, greedy, and stupid. So when Orwell chose a pig to represent Stalin, it was an insult to pigs, so with Bernie and his acolyte AOC.
I’m still on the road, blogging from the information superhighway.
Bullet Points:
** Most elitists who tout socialism do so in the firm belief that redistribution applies to lesser mortals than themselves. They intellectually separate themselves from the plebeians, who are expected to plow willingly, giving their means to the elites. They anoint themselves as philosopher kings.
** How many pints?
** Some of RFK Jr.’s stances are a direct blow to big pharma. Big pharma spends an exorbitant amount of money on advertising. Some news programming, such as Fox News, features almost 100% pharmaceutical ads. The media giants do not want to lose that money. It may be the only thing keeping some of them running. Sean Hannity, for example, makes $25 million per year from Fox. Without big pharma ads, he could be reduced to penury.
** Mars/Venus
** The Democrat party was furious when the stock market went down. Then they were mad when it went up. They are some profoundly miserable people. Maybe it’s the Hog that leads them?
** Rio Grande Valley – 116,323 harvested acres of cotton in 2024. Fast forward to the year 2025, and it’s estimated to have only 39,730 harvestable acres. Sugar cane is already gone. What’s next?

Tren de Aragua (TdA)
Former CIA officer Gary Berntsen, one of the most highly decorated intelligence veterans in recent U.S. history, has come forward to confirm that the Venezuelan criminal gang Tren de Aragua (TdA) has been deliberately deployed into the United States by the Venezuelan regime, with the express intent of destabilizing the country through sabotage and violence.
According to Berntsen, Tren de Aragua is no longer just a violent street gang. While they may wear the face of criminality, their core leadership and operational cells have undergone paramilitary training under the guidance of Venezuelan intelligence and military officials, aided in part by Cuban intelligence operatives and narco-terrorist networks throughout Latin America.
Quoting Berntsen, Miami Herald journalist Antonio Delgado wrote:
“The Venezuelan regime has assumed operational control of these guys [Tren de Aragua] and has trained 300 of them; they have given them paramilitary training, training them to fire weapons and how to conduct sabotage. They have given them all a four- to six-week course. They put these 300 guys through that course, and then they were deploying them into the United States to 20 separate states.”
Berntsen explained that sabotage includes acts such as arson, and that recent patterns of mysterious industrial fires, wildfires, and urban blazes—notably in Los Angeles and other key areas—could plausibly be linked to these foreign-trained operatives.
“Many of these wildfires, industrial fires, the Los Angeles fires, taking advantage of wind and the local conditions, were started by arsonists. How many of them were paid or coerced by TdA or their surrogates?” Berntsen asked.
Even more disturbing than the operation itself is the claim that elements within the CIA have deliberately ignored or buried this intelligence. Berntsen revealed that two current CIA officials recently leaked false information to The New York Times, claiming there is no intelligence connecting Tren de Aragua to the Venezuelan government.
But Berntsen says otherwise—and he has proof.
“The CIA doesn’t have the information because they refused to look at it,” Berntsen said. “We tried to brief them about this three years ago, but the Biden Administration directed them to ignore it. And now those officials are trying to undermine President Trump.”
According to Berntsen, he has already shared intelligence and source material with “elements of the U.S. government,” showing deep and sustained relationships between Tren de Aragua, Venezuelan, and Cuban intelligence services, and high-level narcoterrorist operations.

As you May have noticed from the caption, it’s May…
This means we need to discuss the potential candidates for Idiot of the Month, as a new month is ahead.
We begin with Michelle (Big Mike) Obama, nominated for the latest episode of her struggling podcast, a new narcissistic dumpster fire.
She/He/It opens strong, by simultaneously playing the race and victim cards:
“We don’t articulate, as black women, our pain. Because it’s almost like nobody ever permitted us to do that.”
I can’t claim an extensive and far-reaching knowledge of black women in general. But from what I’ve seen and experienced, I know that if somebody asked me to identify an ethnic and gender cohort who are known for being shrinking-violet, passive types, I would not instinctively say, “Black women!” If you asked me to name which gender generally tends toward a stoic, not-wear-their-pain-on-their-sleeves behavior, I’d say males.
If you pushed me to choose the most stoic ethnic group among women, I’d say Russian women, though I’m not sure why. I picture them sitting in a crumbling, freezing apartment, wearing clunky shoes and an itchy, heavy dress with the texture of a horse blanket, at a wobbly wooden table with legs of different heights, sipping from a bowl of ice-cold beet soup, and not complaining, waiting for that next box of crap from the coalition of Christians and Jews.
But even if I could be convinced that women in general, and black women in particular, are loath to complain or share their pain, I would still never believe that Michelle 0-freaking-bama ever displayed that tendency. Because she/he/it has been complaining non-stop since the day she/he/it walked onto the national stage.
There’s a reason that her secret service code name was “Scowling Wookie.”
If you still doubt me – and how dare you? – Listen to this excerpt from a few minutes later: “As black women, we are so easily labeled as angry and bitter!”
She barked. Also, gosh, Big Mike/Michelle, I wonder how YOU ever got stereotyped as angry and bitter?
I’m sure it was unrelated to you saying that until your annoying husband got elected, you’d never been proud of your country. And I’m sure it had nothing to do with the bone-jarring hits you used to dish out when you roamed the middle as a blitzing linebacker for TCU. I’m almost convinced that she acts like this because she believes that Americans like their first ladies the way they like their coffee: bitter and black.
Let’s skip ahead in the transcript a few minutes, and see what new topic she’s onto now: “…that the first label they put on us, as black women, is that we ARE angry…”
Ugh. Really? Okay, let me skip forward, say, 20 more minutes. (By the way, I just looked at the red bar on the bottom of the screen, and this episode goes on for an hour and 9 minutes! Good lord!)
Okay, dropping the cursor on the red bar again…now: “…and going to therapy, just to work all that out. What happened during those eight years that we were in the White House? What did that do to me, internally, my soul? We made it through. We got out alive! I hope we made the country proud. My girls, thank God, are whole. But what happened to ME?” Man-oh-manischevitz! “What did it do to me internally?!”
That’s something people who survive a mine collapse ask! “We made it through? We got out alive?!” That’s what the guys said after the Bataan Death March.

The next idiot under consideration is a twofer: Ben & Jerry.
You’ll recall the lefty ice cream company in late March, when its TDS-suffering CEO, Dave Stever, was fired by Unilever, the giant corporation that had bought B&J 25 years ago.
Now they’re back in the news, because Ben and Jerry want to repurchase the company from Unilever. They’ve been trying to gather investors, but it seems like the old commies are having difficulty finding capitalists to join forces with them.
Unexpectedly!
The stories I’ve seen about the attempted buy-back point to a very odd arrangement, in which Unilever has owned the company for decades, but still had a relationship with B&J that involved tolerating their customer-alienating politics, and contributing $5 million a year to the Ben and Jerry Foundation, which advocates for causes like defunding the police, keeping men in women’s locker rooms and white people out of “positions of power in society,” cheerleading for abortion, and returning the US to the Indians who had stolen it from other Indians just before whitey got here.
After years of increasing tension, Unilever has finally lost patience. They informed B&J that the business is not for sale, announced a July name change to The Magnum Ice Cream Company, and issued an ultimatum stating that, before they would continue to contribute to the B&J Foundation, they would require an audit of it.
Ben and Jerry seem strangely unenthusiastic about that idea, perhaps because they’ve handled their foundation with all the competence and honesty with which the Clintons handled their foundation, or Jeffrey Epstein handled his Epstein Foundation for the Support of Wayward Under-Age Girls.
The WSJ summary of the story says that, “After tolerating decades of radioactive politics, Unilever appears keen to decontaminate Ben and Jerry’s.”
That sounds about right. Let’s give the final word – the final laughably clueless and self-indicting word – to Ben Cohen: “Ben and Jerry’s is a company with a soul.” Yes, it is. And you sold that soul to a ginormous corporation for a king’s ransom 25 years ago, you capitalist pig in a Stalinist sheep’s clothing.

PARTING SHOT

End
I remember reading about that tank being found and pulled out. The Nazis were very creating in finding hiding places for their armor :)
You got me curious so I looked it up. Preserved in a peat bog.

Same here. IIRC, after a bit of hosing things down they even managed to fire up the engine. As already noted, captured Russian T-34.

I’ve always been a fan of the old-fashioned, basically pagan May Day –
the one with the dancing around the pole, and the flowers and pie.
*
Actually, always a fan of almost anything involving pie.
*
The filthy Pinko abomination one, do not recommend.
– Kle.
I’ve been told our Labor Day is where it is (and not May 1) for a number of reasons, one being to close to the other major holidays.
Another, something to do with the Haymarket Riot and not wanting to be associated with it and thus international socialism.
There’s always anti-labor union chatter on May Day or on Labor Day. I usually disagree with my conservative friends – but not entirely. Fair wages for people who make things work is a necessary part of society. Often the only route to get there is through organized labor and collective bargaining. In some places and times there has been enlightened management that managed to pull the trigger and treat labor fairly without being hit over the head by labor unions.
I have nothing against actual Labor Day at all, but we don’t need two of them.
Especially not one with giant Soviet parades… the only thing we should celebrate
at the same time as the Soviets is crushing the Nazis.
– Kle.
Yes, one Labor Day is sufficient – and needs to be attached to a weekend to maximize the fun.
mmmm pie
Good Stuff !!!
I was served a paper straw a short time ago, with a milkshake.
All I could taste was the paper.
Never again!
Narcissistic dumpster fire would actually be a good blog, if all it did was provide summaries of Bif Mike style victims of freedom.
Ben and Jerry’s mommy shtick got old in 1984. Pints were almost $10 apiece down here in GA yesterday. How Unilever sells any at that price here surprises me.
Somebody pays $10 a pint or they wouldn’t sell it at that price. Certainly not me — but somebody.
re south TX crop reduction. Its because of a lack of irrigation water from the Rio Grande. There is currently a lawsuit to force the Mexicans to supply the water agreed to by some decades old treaty. Several years of relative drought has made this a problem. Its been in the news lately if you care to search it up.
Thanks for the info, Kingsville. That makes sense.
Just got this minutes ago.

Welcome to TEXAS; “Everything is bigger in Texas” Mrs W. brought both her saddles in the move down here. If they were my size I’d be using one to mount the low flying, slow to bite skeeters that made their late arrival this year.

What else is ” Texan”? Like suicide head on and off ramps we navigate daily on the 20?

Had to renew my passport in the heart of the metroplex, stopped for a proprietary americano in Weatherford. Link shows a Texas size cup.$40? It’s really a C_n_l_.

Loving the localized photos from wherever. Hopefully you’ll never run out of planes, ships, armor, firepower, ect to keep Steve and Surly from doín crosswords, Rubik’s cubes and suduco in their sleep.
The comment about Texas weather is spot on. I had customers in Sweetwater before their plant consolidated with one in Lubbock. One time I spent the night in Sweetwater, got up the next morning to do a site visit with those guys before heading back to south-central Kansas. It was 70-degrees and sunshine when I walked out of the motel, did my thing and scooted and none too soon because 17 inches of ice and snow dumped on them that evening BOOM!
.
Speaking of Lubbock. Lubbock is famous for being the Nothing Capital of the Western Hemisphere, where all the left over nothing from all over is shipped to town in empty box cars and stored for future non-use in vast forests of empty warehouses in the downtown area. Sometimes there is even so much nothing shipped in that it has to be stored in immense outdoor ground piles that are occasionally struck by tornadoes and spread all over. If you don’t believe me, drive out and have a look for yourself. But at least it isn’t Midland/Odessa……….Odessa was once described as an armpit 20 miles west of another armpit named Midland.
We’d get as warm as we could in field jackets and march to breakfast at Lackland AFB.
That afternoon, they might call off PT because it was near 100 degrees.
I grew up in Lubbock, everything you say is true. Went back a couple of years ago for a visit, nope, there’s nothing there that I need.
And yes, Midland- Odessa is worse.
A man I assigned Lubbock area in a campaign discovered Texas dry counties. He was not pleased.
Usually there is a wet county adjacent to a dry county.
Post Script Texas Jaberwokey; Buc-ees, now 35 options statewide, if you’re game for 20 different kinds of Jerky. Now legal in 8 other states for the plebians that is, even Colorado!
Big Mike has become a zoo animal. Nothing to do but pace, screech, eat and crap. Always on display, interesting to some, but mostly ignored, and avoided, due to the constant, irritating babble. He has a big cage, but it’s still a cage, with handlers praying for early retirement.
“But what happened to ME?” Man-oh-manischevitz! “What did it do to me internally?!””
What about the rest of us?
Black women tend to be the loudest, shrillest, and most entitled people in the US. But they will lose that title to muslims very soon.
You forgot the caged ape’s favorite past time:

What’s happening in the Rio Grande Valley?
“What happened during those eight years that we were in the White House?” They got rich! Estates on the waters of BOTH the Atlantic and Pacific oceans rich! Plus another mansion in D.C.
Things have changed since Harry Truman was President … “after leaving the White House, Harry Truman took the train home to Independence, Missouri, on January 20, 1953. He traveled as a private citizen, without Secret Service protection, and mingled with other passengers”
After becoming the only president to order nuclear war (that we know of).
“Michelle Obama: “It warms my heart as a black man”
Did Big Mike finally tell the truth on that Matter ?
There have been a number of slips by both Barack and Mike. And the dancing of Mike, while hanging loose, etc. He walks around like a big old black man and wants us to pretend he’s a woman — but then again, in a nation that doesn’t know what a woman is…?
I heard that. No comment from the presenter (Watters?)

Gloster Meteor. Interesting study in engine design vs. the Me-262. IIRC, there is a restored Meteor still flying with the original engines.

Kingsville beat me to it. Cali stole Mexico’s water, so Mexico is NOT providing water to So. Texas. The last good thing to come out of Lubbock was C.B. Stubblefield’s little BBQ place out on the highway.
The Char-King drive thru burger was a great thing as well.
Their chili burger deserved to be listed as its own food group.
Texas Weapons Checkpoint.

in the 60s everyone in Lubbock had a bumper sticker that said ” Happiness is Lubbock In My Rearview Mirror”. Very true at that time.
Mac Davis made it famous, but he caved and wrote that last verse. Should have left it alone.
Michelle and Ben & Gerrys? Surely it’s a tie.
