Caption: The Shrine of the Book, a wing of the Israel Museum in Jerusalem, is built to symbolize the scroll. The shrine is built as a white dome symbolizing the Sons of Light, and a black basalt wall symbolizing the Sons of Darkness.

You can call this a pre-sermonette if you wish.
The War of the Sons of Light Against the Sons of Darkness, also known as War Rule, Rule of War and the War Scroll, is a manual for military organization and strategy that was discovered among the Dead Sea Scrolls.
The manuscript was among the scrolls found in Qumran Cave 1, acquired by the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and first published posthumously by Eleazar Sukenik in 1955. The document is made up of various scrolls and fragments. It is possible that The War of the Messiah is the conclusion to this document.
The statuary and shrine is symbolic of the war between good and evil. Between God and Satan. And you don’t need to be religious to grasp that there is a war going on.
The question is simply put: which side are you on?
In the Era of Plague
And on a lighter note, this is funny
Somewhat the subject of my show today.
If you are not a Christian with the Spirit of God dwelling in you, you are without comms and weapons in the battle against the darkness.
In the words of the prophet “you gotta serve somebody”.

It’s a great song and it’s on my play list.

You may be an ambassador to England or France
You may like to gamble, you might like to dance
You may be the heavyweight champion of the world
You may be a socialite with a long string of pearls
But you’re gonna have to serve somebody, yes
Indeed you’re gonna have to serve somebody
Well, it may be the devil or it may be the Lord
But you’re gonna have to serve somebody
You might be a rock ‘n’ roll addict prancing on the stage
You might have drugs at your command, women in a cage
You may be a business man or some high-degree thief
They may call you doctor or they may call you chief
But you’re gonna have to serve somebody, yes you are
You’re gonna have to serve somebody
Well, it may be the devil or it may be the Lord
But you’re gonna have to serve somebody
You may be a state trooper, you might be a young Turk
You may be the head of some big TV network
You may be rich or poor, you may be blind or lame
You may be living in another country under another name
But you’re gonna have to serve somebody, yes you are
You’re gonna have to serve somebody
Well, it may be the devil or it may be the Lord
But you’re gonna have to serve somebody
You may be a construction worker working on a home
You may be living in a mansion or you might live in a dome
You might own guns and you might even own tanks
You might be somebody’s landlord, you might even own banks
But you’re gonna have to serve somebody, yes
You’re gonna have to serve somebody
Well, it may be the devil or it may be the Lord
But you’re gonna have to serve somebody
You may be a preacher with your spiritual pride
You may be a city councilman taking bribes on the side
You may be workin’ in a barbershop, you may know how to cut hair
You may be somebody’s mistress, may be somebody’s heir
But you’re gonna have to serve somebody, yes
You’re gonna have to serve somebody
Well, it may be the devil or it may be the Lord
But you’re gonna have to serve somebody
Might like to wear cotton, might like to wear silk
Might like to drink whiskey, might like to drink milk
You might like to eat caviar, you might like to eat bread
You may be sleeping on the floor, sleeping in a king-sized bed
But you’re gonna have to serve somebody, yes
Indeed you’re gonna have to serve somebody
Well, it may be the devil or it may be the Lord
But you’re gonna have to serve somebody
You may call me Terry, you may call me Timmy
You may call me Bobby, you may call me Zimmy
You may call me R.J., you may call me Ray
You may call me anything but no matter what you say
Still, you’re gonna have to serve somebody, yes
You’re gonna have to serve somebody
Well, it may be the devil or it may be the Lord
But you’re gonna have to serve somebody
Interesting. I was reading up on the War Rule/Scroll yesterday.
We are, of course in a spiritual fight, against “principalities and powers” and the “spirits of the air” themselves. For that matter, the Devil wanders the earth as a roaring lion, “seeking whom he may devour.”
But this is nihilist, Luciferian pride and goes nowhere but to the Pit.
STAND STRONG.
Ephesians 6:12 KJV
For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
Quoting Ephesians is likely to end you up on the Department of Homeland Security’s watch list.
He’ll be in good company….
What about Ecclesiastes 10:2 ?
The heart of the wise inclines to the right, but the heart of the fool to the left. — prophetic
I get the cot by the stove.
They can put one on either side of the stove.
Well, in the end times or the End Times, it doesn’t matter what side you are on physically. We all die.
But it does matter what side you are on spiritually.
Which is why one of the first things they did during the Covidiocracy was attack churches. Liquor stores? Pot Shops? Other carnal fun places like adult toy stores? Open. Churches? Closed.
I hope I am on the side of Light. That even though I am, ahem, very fallible and full of stupidity and sin of which I fight with and lose with way too often (gluttony being one… dangit) I try to strive to be better. And like Constantine (movie reference) I am trying, in a good way, to buy my way into Heaven. i know I am a bad man. But my wife thinks I am a good man, so I try to live up to her ideal of me. And the ideal of what my dog thinks I am.
I’m not a Ned Flanders (Simpsons reference) but I don’t want to disappoint my wife and end up in the wrong place.
There is a war. There always has been, and will be until the end of ends. And sometimes Good Men must act in bad ways in order to protect the innocent or Godly. Those Good Men are scarred by what they do, and often on this material plain are shunned by the innocent or the Godly. Hopefully they’ll be in Heaven with those they protected.
One can hope that the justice that seems to elude us in this mortal state will be present when the door opens and we leave the room. There is an agenda at work and it does not promote Godliness. It does not promote joy, and families, and charity and love. We just need to know that for what it is.
Beautifully said, Beans.
Romans 3:8 — do evil so good will come.
As to the attempt at humor, meh. Yet another dig at bad conservatives, even though we’ll win.
When will people ever realize that conformity isn’t a conservative value. That’s a socialist value. Everyone must look the same in international socialism, all frumpy and drab, or the same in national socialism, all shiny and polished, but all still must look the same. Haircuts, fabric, cut of cloth, shoes, decorations…
It’s conservativism that likes wild colors. And fab styling. Don’t believe me? Go look at boats owned by conservative, or planes, or houses, or even farm clothing… Much rather buy from Tractor Supply than the locally run socialist clothing shop.
The plague has people acting a little nutty. I don’t know that it’s a dig at conservatives. That’s not how I saw it. It’s more of an observation of where things are headed and it pricks the urban soccer moms. If society devolves on the plan set forth in the Green New Deal, the old era of the Dustbowl may come back if only by metaphor because it’s 2021.
I’ve read the end of the book, it’s clear that God and his people win.
Spoiler alert…
No disclaimer required for those in the know.
Funny thing is people don’t want to believe in spiritual truth. Weird when a lot are looking for spiritual answers. Likely due to having it good. Yet now that we are once again in tough times foisted on the masses by a bunch of morons drunk on power, doesn’t seem to resonate or make it through closed ears. I am not afraid, yet millions are, and while I believe those that need Him most are flatly refusing to hear with open ears.
“For me and my house…”. Simple, but not always easy.
People will believe and people won’t. It’s important that they can choose. The leftists declare that there will be no choice. That the proles will love Big Great Great Grandpa or Big Ho. Because if people could decide, that may not be the decision.
“The War”…did not know anything about today’s substance when you commented yesterday (light v. darkness). Exactly why I come here, to be further enlightened. Thanks for the insight.
CF: I think you’d like the show I did yesterday.
It’s posted at my blog.
Thx…and really appreciate what you’re doing.
There is “our” time, and there is the “Lord’s” time. The wrongs will be put right, in his time. We may not see it in this life. What is known is that we will be held accountable for what we’ve done in our time.
No I’m not a theologian, worse I stayed at a Super 8 last night.
Are you of the opinion that torturing yourself in a Super 8 will obviate sins?
Only if one partakes in the breakfast bar. Don’t ask me how I know.
The sausage gravy wasn’t bad. This was the first time in years I didn’t make an on-line reservation. Had to take what was available. My favorite family owned motel was closed; probably a Covid casualty.
