The attack on Paul Pelosi (Nancy’s hubby – Newsom’s uncle Paul) by David DePape, a homeless illegal alien, “entrepreneur, entertainer, and private dancer,” is cited by the left as an example of political violence. DePape’s life partner is an LGBTQ Russian named Oxane “Gypsy” Taub. Their tent encampment featured BLM and LGBTQ flags. DePape was not a product of the right; he was an insane person protected by Democrat sanctuary city policies. Despite being arrested and deportable, he was repeatedly released without prosecution or deportation.
Paul Pelosi could have avoided the attack by not engaging DePape to come to his mansion (only the best security for the residence of the Speaker of the House of Representatives) and by not being entertained. There was nothing political about it. Verbal contracts between outcall entertainers and their tricks often end in disputes (sometimes violent) when it’s time to pay for the happy ending.
Most people are not surprised that Nancy drove her husband into the arms of other men. He was put off women in general. Undersea Cables are Targets for Mischief
I’m not saying that the Seawolf Class submarines (SSN-21, 22, 23) were designed exclusively to do things like this, but it’s no secret, since Ivy Bells became public, that the US government has had an interest in underwater infrastructure.
This operation was compromised by Ronald Pelton, a 44-year-old veteran of the NSA, who was fluent in Russian. At the time, Pelton was $65,000 ($248,000 today) in debt and had filed for personal bankruptcy just three months before his resignation. With only a few hundred dollars in the bank, Pelton walked into the Soviet embassy in Washington, D.C. in January 1980, and offered to sell what he knew to the KGB for money.

Replacements
The global fertility rate has declined to about 2.2 children per woman in 2023, down from four to five in 1960, and just above the replacement level of 2.1. This long-term demographic shift, while gradual, is reshaping the outlook for many nations. One clear outcome of lower fertility is population aging.
With fewer children being born, the proportion of older citizens grows, raising questions about how labor markets, pension systems, and healthcare services will adapt. The United States, for example, has remained below replacement fertility since the early 1970s, with a current rate of around 1.62.
China has fallen below one child per woman, while South Korea and Singapore are also well below replacement levels. Meanwhile, India has seen fertility fall from about five to six births per woman in 1960 to just under two today.
This trend is not confined to wealthy economies.
Most of the world’s population now lives in countries at or below replacement fertility, with only parts of Africa still recording rates above five children per woman. The demographic implications will unfold slowly, but they are far-reaching. Countries will need to adapt their economic and social structures to a world with fewer workers, more retirees, and shifting patterns of growth.
VDH at American Greatness
(Link) Victor Davis Hanson argues that America’s institutions are unraveling because merit and empiricism are being replaced by ideology, particularly ideologies centered on diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) and other forms of identity politics. He claims that when decisions are made based on ideology instead of competence, it leads to cascading failures in systems that are supposed to protect lives, property, and civic order.
Hanson illustrates this with recent examples, such as the Pacific Palisades fire in Los Angeles, where cuts to the fire department budget, non-functional infrastructure (including dry reservoirs and broken hydrants), and environmental mandates that prevented brush clearing exacerbated the damage. The case of Iryna Zarutska’s murder on a light-rail train in Charlotte, NC: Hanson describes how a 14-time felon was released on a “cashless bail” system, under a magistrate he judges as unqualified, and how other breakdowns of public safety, legal responsibility, and civic courage contributed.
He contends that such incidents aren’t isolated but symptomatic of a broader decay: when officials prioritize social-engineering, narrative control, or ideological purity over competence, safety, and objective risk management, the system becomes brittle. Ultimately, this leads to catastrophic failures — in fire season, in public safety, and in governance — when warnings are ignored and foundational capacities degraded.

This showcases the mentality in local governments that we private citizens on “private” property actually rent from them, therefore can be removed at any time they see fit. This criminality needs a Federal investigation…because we know the actual residents will complain but then fold. My morning? Just had the septic tank pumped, then was told the county made a new ‘property sale’ regulation for septic inspection (another $350 fleeced from my wallet) to verify the system they required a permit to install 23 years ago (okay, it is wastewater), and inspected before, during, and after installation (Code Plus), gets pumped every 3 years (prudent regardless of regulation), MUST NOW – all of a sudden – be reinspected to verify it works…as if I didn’t know that everything drains during use…which is why I needed the tank pumped. Can’t make this stuff up…but government ninny’s can, and do. And WTP get to pay for it again and again. Hence we all knew Palisades properties would never get rebuilt but stolen from their owners for penny’s on the dollar (or anything at all) using the well-oiled government grifter slight-of-hand that normal people could never conjure up on their worst day.
Just ran into that inspection requirement on a farmhouse we’re selling.
