EV-D68
An enterovirus is a positive-sense (“plus-strand”) RNA (ribonucleic acid) virus. Other diseases caused by RNA viruses include Ebola, SARS, polio and measles. The sixth death in the US just occurred.
(SA.com link) A study published in Virology Journal, found EV-D68 among some of the 3,375 young, ill people tested in eight Latin American countries, including the Central American nations of El Salvador and Nicaragua, in 2013.
Though the U.S. government is keeping secret the locations of the illegal immigrant children, there are significant numbers of them in both cities in which the current outbreak was first identified, Kansas City, Missouri and Chicago, Illinois, according to local advocates and press reports.
The EV-D68 outbreak was first recognized after Children’s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri notified CDC on August 19 of an increase in severe respiratory illnesses. Four days later, on August 23, the University of Chicago Medicine Comer Children’s Hospital notified CDC of a similar increase.
According to CDC, there are no available vaccines, antiviral medications or specific treatments for EV-D68. Most cases are mild.
Yes, it’s coming from Latin America and it’s coming across the US Border. No, the Border Patrol isn’t screening for it any more than they are for Ebola.

However, I’d find it interesting to see American Border Patrol and US Customs Agents wearing full biohazard suits at American ports of entry. Not appropriate necessarily, just interesting.

Naturally, any discussion of lethal or debilitating viral infections coming into the US across our Southern Border or from Africa can be code-word identified with racism…

  1. EV-D68 is a return of polio. Just when you thought that it was wiped off the face of the planet. It's a very serious thing. When I was a kid, everybody had polio "sugar cubes" and there was a worldwide effort to eliminate it. Now it's crossing the border and nobody wants to talk about it. Thank you mainstream media for protecting the Obama Administration.

  2. Everything has too many faces to it.
Sometimes, I feel that the double faced politics is just our assumption about it gone wild.
But then, who ever knows the truth?

  3. There are diseases that were eradicated with vast effort that are coming back. It's not propaganda. It just is. And while it's not presently an epidemic, polio killed and crippled a lot of people. It's never a problem until you have it. Then it's life altering.

  4. If you do that, how do you get all of those illegal aliens/wetbacks/undocumented persons over the border to vote for the Democrat of their choice?

  5. And so we have… yet another scandal unreported on by the "reporters". Well done, fearless inquirers after truth.

  6. It's even worse than that because the disease cripples children and precautions are not being taken nor are screenings being undertaken. It is criminal negligence as far as I am concerned.

Then again, criminal negligence would seem to be the tune of the day in DC.

  7. My daughter woke up with a bizarre cough this morning. I know the symptoms for this virus are unusually respiratory, but I'd have thought nothing of it, because there haven't been any cases (to my knowledge) of this in TX yet.
That said, I hadn't heard of the possible link to immigrants, until I read your post. Her school is over half Hispanic, and one of her most affectionate little friends barely speaks English and was out sick yesterday.

I'm sure it's nothing to worry about. But hello, fever patrol…
