Iranian Nuclear Dreams (of Barack’s Father)

Blog Post
There are always different opinions and they need to be listened to and considered. We do that in our lives and the government needs to do the same when guiding the ship of state. However, when I listen to President Obama speak, I often wonder whose side he and his minions are on. President Obama wants to fight Congress over the course that the nation should take to counter Iranian nuclear ambitions.

House Speaker John Boehner is inviting Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu to address a joint session of Congress next month on Iran, countering President Obama’s threats that he will veto any legislation that imposes more sanctions against Iran if talks on its nuclear program fail.

Senator Bob Menendez (D-NJ), the highest-ranking Democrat on the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, said Wednesday that the Obama administration sounds like it’s getting its talking points on the Iran nuclear negotiations straight from the Iranians themselves.
This from a ranking Democratic Party Senator.
Menendez made the comment during a hearing on the Iran nuclear talks following Tuesday’s State of the Union address, in which President Barack Obama warned that he would veto any new sanctions bill Congress may put forward.
“The more I hear from the administration and its quotes, the more it sounds like talking points that come straight out of Tehran,” Menendez said. “And it feeds to the Iranian narrative of victimization, when they are the ones with original sin — an illicit nuclear weapons program going back over the course of 20 years that they are unwilling to come clean on.”
(IBD) Tehran on Tuesday, for instance, with Russia’s defense minister visiting, signed a pact with Moscow to expand military ties, including mutual use of naval ports. Russia of course, going back to the days of the Soviet Union, has been behind the building of Iran’s nuclear program, seeking to counter American power in the Middle East.
In a statement, Iranian Defense Minister Hossein Dehghan made no bones about this move being all about opposing “the expansionist intervention and greed of the United States.” Moscow was already set to build two additional nuclear reactors within Iran.
The German magazine Der Spiegel recently reported presumed Iranian involvement in the construction, ongoing since 2009, of an underground nuclear facility in Syria near the Lebanon border. The presumption is based on intercepted phone calls and satellite images.
Approximately 8,000 fuel rods are stored at the site, which features a deep well connecting it to a lake two and a half miles away — a necessity only for a nuclear facility.

Is Barack Obama the Iranian entry for the Manchurian Candidate? I wouldn’t bet against that one.

  1. He IS the Manchurian Candidate come to life (or reality). He's wheeling and dealing, not caring what either we the people OR the congress wants…
