The Coming War with China?

Proceedings recently asked several frequent contributors how the next conflict might start. This essay is the first in the series.

The beginning of major state-on-state conflict is almost always a surprise . . . at least to one of the two sides. The China–Taiwan conflict of early 2021 was no exception. The overlapping factors that brought it about now seem so obvious in retrospect. First, the convergence of Thucydides’ three sources of conflict—fear, honor, and interest—was unprecedented at the time. On top of this, Chinese recognition of a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity and leader Xi Jinping’s eagerness to solidify his re-election in 2023 made it almost inevitable. Ownership – a descendant of whip crackers

I don’t think that vice presidential aspirant, Harris, had ancestors who felt that black lives mattered. And in other news:

(The Bee-Bee) U.S.—Supporters of Kamala Harris have been eagerly awaiting an announcement on who her VP pick will be when she takes over as president approximately 5 minutes after Joe Biden is inaugurated. According to sources close to the campaign, she is already vetting possible candidates for the job.

“I am proud to announce I will soon be announcing my pick for Vice President of the United States,” said Harris. “We have searched all across this great land. While I cannot yet confirm who my pick will be, I can say this: my pick for VP will be even MORE of a woman and even MORE of color than I am. It will be the most colorful and womanly team ever!” She then threw her head back and cackled maniacally.

George Soros approved.

  1. The Dem campaign strategy’s pretty compelling — vote for us or we’ll burn you and the country to the ground. Which they’ll do anyway if they’re elected. Has the country seen through this? I guess we’ll find out. In the meanwhile, ammo flies off the shelves.

    • The Democrats all think that burning down inner cities is very progressive. They haven’t started setting fire inside of their Congressional offices but there are sprinklers in the ceiling and it doesn’t give them the same vibe or satisfaction.

  2. The missile that’s furthest away from the ship in your lead photo looks like an “Over-The-Shoulder” shot. I don’t recognize that ship as a US ship, so I’m guessing a PLAN ship? Great article in the Proceedings, as usual.

NYC is a world unto itself, just ask them. People joke about Kommiefornia sliding into the ocean, but the country would be better off if NYC followed it….

Nice bank-and-yank on the Mustang! I’ve never flown a plane with enough power to do that, but I’ll bet it’s fun.

  3. The “coming war”? Plenty of evidence exists supporting the reality that China has been engaging in an asymmetrical one sided war against us using a plethora of means. The problem is most people can’t or won’t accept that fact. The salient question being when this undeclared war goes kinetic and openly violent.
