Leadership

The level of professionalism is astounding, isn’t it? At least he didn’t show up all sweaty and having stolen someone’s gym bag. To get around the rules governing decorum on the senate floor, he stands at the door of the Senate chamber and shouts out his vote when prompted to do so by a handler.

Embracing the Hate Industry

“The “anti-hate” hate industry creates the tribalism it claims to fight, and the only beneficiary of all the hate it creates is the hate industry itself.”

“In the aftermath of September 11, 2001, when establishment politicians started to make common use of the term “homeland,” they told us the most dangerous threat to Americans was foreign terrorists.

But today, we are instructed to fear the enemy within. A new iconic date, January 6, 2021, is inscribed on our collective consciousness.

From coast to coast, Americans are being herded into two camps. There are the “white supremacists,” those bad people who purportedly hate good people. And then there is everyone else, good people who are encouraged to hate the bad people. The common thread, to state the obvious, is hate.

The hate industry is a vast agglomeration of lucrative hustles, now institutionalized and expanded into multiple and overlapping sectors.

There is the diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) sector; the equity, social, and governance (ESG) sector; the activist sector comprising countless groups, including Black Lives Matter and Antifa; the corporate, academic, and government sectors; the media sector; the politicians; and the pundits. All of these sectors have spawned scores of thousands of well-paying jobs.

If these institutions weren’t able to point to rising levels of hatred in America, then their specialty, the business of hate, would no longer be a growth industry. Where there is no hate, they must manufacture it. Where hatred has diminished, they must discover new forms of hate, often so subtle that we foolishly fail to recognize it without their assistance.”

This Week in History

This week is the anniversary of what is usually considered to be the first battle of the Wars of the Roses, fought on 22nd May 1455 in St. Albans.

As the Earl of Warwick’s troops rained arrows down on them, and the Duke of York’s men advanced from the opposite direction, King Henry VI was ‘hurte in the necke wythe an arrowe’ as he found himself exposed in the center of the Yorkist assault at St. Albans.

Behind him the Duke of Buckingham was wounded ‘with an arrowe in the vysage’, as were others of the king’s entourage; ‘the Lord of Stafford in the hond, with an arowe; the Lord of Dorsette, sore hurt that he myght not go, but he was caryede hom in a cart; and Wenlok, Knyght, in lyke wyse in a carte sore hurt; and other diverse knyghtes and squyers sore hurt.’ (Paston Letters)

Arrows, propelled by the English longbows were particularly vexing. Companies of journeymen archers sold their talents to the highest bidder or the most likely to succeed.

Although famously a most unwarlike king, Gregory’s chronicle records that at St. Albans ‘Kyng Harry was in harnys [full suit of armor] hys owne propyr person’. The same account also says that the Earl of Wiltshire ‘sette the kyngys baner agayne an howse ende and fought manly with the helys (heels)’ – in other words, he ran away, an action he repeated at the Battle of Mortimer’s Cross six years later.

  Bullet Points:

** Shifty wants the Senate Seat – Already impaired by widely-reported mental decline, Senator Dianne Feinstein returned to the Senate two weeks ago after a nearly three-month absence as she battled shingles. Last week, in a Capitol Hill encounter with reporters, Feinstein appeared to be unaware that she’d been gone from the Senate, declaring, “No, I’ve been here. I’ve been voting.” Mental decline, whether it’s Feinstein (D-CA), Fetterman (D-PA), or even Pedo Joe himself, would seem to be a feature of modern DC. There is no more corrupt vermin on the planet than Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) so he’s a shoo-in for an appointment from Gov. Newsom.

** Speaking of modern times, there is always the American Naval Fleet, which looks distressingly like the old Soviet fleet did back when there was the Soviet Union.

The Arleigh Burke-class Flight IIA guided missile destroyer USS James E. Williams (DDG 95) as it departed Toulon, France yesterday, May 22, 2023. It’s the US flagship. Inspiring, striking fear, etc. More from CDR SAL. She symbolizes a nation in decline.

** John Kerry (climate czar) targets farmers. We can’t win the war on the weather until all farmers are destroyed…or words to that effect. Kerry hasn’t told us what he plans to have for dinner or how he plans to get the food. I expect that his chauffer will drive his chef to the market to buy something to prepare.

** The effort to drench the federal workforce in DEI is nothing less than an effort to humiliate or — as they said in Mao’s day — “struggle” the high-performing members of the permanent bureaucracy and weaken you by forcing you to agree to woke Marxist nonsense.

For all of you who wonder who sets the Facebook community standards.

  1. Are they smart enough at Community Standards to leave a burning building?

    -Kle.

    1. I’d say, “let’s find out,” but my question could be misinterpreted, so, I won’t ask it.

  2. Yeah you don’t want anybody “butt hurt.” I’m sure that “Shifty Shit head’s” skullduggery will assure him Dianne Feinstein’s seat. When is there going to be some accountability for these ass clowns? I thought that the John E. Williams picture was a sick joke until I read CDR SAL’s article. What a disgrace. It’s more sad than anything.

    1. There are people lined up to drink ale from Shifty’s skull…just saying.

      1. How do you get to the front of the line?;-) Why hasn’t the Captain been fired? Nevermind already know the answer. Any other country sees that and well…that’s why the Iranian’s and pirates in gulf of Oman are taking hostage so many ships bound for U.S. and we’re pushing 7 million and counting that have entered our country. On a lighter note…

        Enjoy!

        God bless America

    2. Obama made sure the USN didn’t hurt the environment by painting ships in port. The DEI flags just kept expanding the idea to not paint them anywhere.

      1. And then that dolt doubled down and said he really didn’t mean it like it had been taken, clearly inferring the troops were too stupid to understand his elevated sense of humor. The joke was still on him.

  3. Kerry, per a fawning Wikipedia: Politician/diplomat/businessman/activist. Yeah…sure…whatever. His only accomplishment in life was marrying Teresa Heinz, who must have been enamored with his perfect hair. The guy personifies “never envy the wealthy ”.

If “the half dead addled three” don’t force one to go mow the lawn while listening to LiveIreland, fully ignoring the degenerates, nothing will. The current crop of DC politicians proves the adage those that can’t do, teach…those that can’t teach, administrate.

    1. Kerry has plenty of accomplishments. Just not many positive ones. I labored under the delusion that he was of Irish descent for an embarrassingly long time. Turned out that was fake also. Now to be fair, he didn’t pick his surname personally. But if my parents had changed our surname to “Cairo” before my birth, I still wouldn’t be Egyptian. 🙄

It would have been funny if they’d chosen “Jones” as their nom de guerre. Then he’d be John Jones, which is the real name of The Martian Manhunter (J’onn J’onzz). Someone needs to write a backstory for Martian Manhunter about how he comes from a nation whose first executive was called G’eorj W’allshintun. (Hey, it can’t be worse than the crap storm that is the state of both the DC and Marvel cinematic universes.)

      1. Wiki listed his medals, not trivial. IF true (the Swift Boat guys say nope) then h/t. But the problem with these types is once a poseur always a poseur and you can’t believe anything about them, which is proven every time they open their mouths.

        1. Apologies to all swabs for improper terminology. I worked with a man named Frank Schmidt who was a snipe on a river patrol boat in the same unit as Kerry. He said they tied up next to Kerry’s boat. His take on Kerry? “He wasn’t any worse than any of the other officers”. He went on to say the officers wrote up each other for awards. He did say Kerry went in harms way as did all the other river patrol boats but bailed out of the unit at the first opportunity.

      2. Hey! All this musing on DC Comics has lead me to a breakthrough! I think I know why so many of our politicians are powerless against China. The Biden clan, Senator Feinstein (driver), Representative Swalwell, even actor John Cena, are all secretly members of The Green Lantern Corps.

Nerds will recall that the Green Lanterns are powerless against the color yellow. The implications are obvious.
        #tishboom

Here is Cena crawling, the poor bastard.

  4. Was read the riot act about my comment about the appearance of Navy shipping. It was explained to me that the old days of getting ships painted in Malaysian shipyards [a la Fat Leonard and all that] were over. They don’t even call the stuff paint anymore. They are coatings with radar reflecting, laser absorbing and anti-friction properties.
They are applied electrostatically and/or in anaerobic conditions, generally in dry dock.
This person was tired of ignorant bastards like myself sounding off about stuff they knew nothing about.
    Verified his comments.
CDR Sal would know this guy. He thinks the Navy’s hell bound too, but not because of rust on hulls and superstructure of our ships.
Still would like to see good looking ships.
    V/R JWest

    1. Rust reflects radar! Got it. Think of the money we can save by not using paint or ‘coatings’. Like the idea we painted ships in Malaysan shipyards. Very creative of whomever you spoke with.

  5. Remember when we used to mock the Soviets for having senile leaders with one foot in the grave and the other on a silicone-soaked banana peel? Yeah, I miss those days.

Schiff replacing Feinstein is meet, fit, and proper. Must have conservation of, er, … hey, howzabout dem Red Sox?

The Hate Industry, and cannabis shops, seem to be the only growth sectors in the US.

    1. Go by a Rec-Med anytime during the day, lot is busy with a line out the door and down the sidewalk. 98% Biden voters.

      1. WSF- Exactly, revenues have declined as the shiny object starts to dull, to the dismay of the Dems in the Statehouse and Dept. of Revenue. But they did manage to attract a lot of Dem voters who moved to Colorado urban centers just for the ability to “legally” purchase weed and drive around “impaired”. Productivity isn’t part of their plan.

Rec-Med shops are losing money because most proprietors aren’t good businessman when under “regulation”. I have no sympathy.

  6. Insanity is running wild in the western world & now they have taken aim at growing food in the US and calling it a climate crisis.
If anyone cared to look there are core samples (from Greenland and the Indonesian Throughway) showing it has been much warmer in the last few thousands of years so the climate crisis really isn’t. As a plus they own the air waves and most of the social media access.

How are we going to stop this?

    https://ocp.ldeo.columbia.edu/res/div/ocp/arch/examples.shtml
There is a graph showing the last 15+ thousand years from Greenland ice cores

    https://www.carbonbrief.org/factcheck-what-greenland-ice-cores-say-about-past-and-present-climate-change/
The first graph shows the temps over the last 10,000 years and most of that was warmer than now

A 4 min video about Greenland ice cores https://youtu.be/L1mjG_F8ppw

  7. Seeing ships looking like the James Williams must rip the guts out of men who served back in the real Navy. It’s not just dishonoring the ship, the crew aboard it and the country today, it’s dishonoring every ship and every sailor in our history.

      1. X2
It goes to show the world or (WWMCCS) how our Naval command and control is broken and unrecognizable. Even worse it has happened in just three years of the “slow Joe and Camel Toe” administration.

      1. Disgusting.
My “nephew” was home on leave. USMC law enforcement. 20 years old, mandatory gun on hip with FBI authorized badge. Can’t buy a gun. Not twenty-one.

        1. Undermining 2A destruction by the backdoor. Next they’ll require the same for retired police officers, who currently are legally allowed to carry at all times (as I understand it).

          1. I carried long before the government gave me a letter of marque that authorized it.

          2. We all should carry, all day every day. That’ll separate the sturdy sheepdog wheat from the whiny wussy chaff.

    1. A ship in that condition tells me that other upkeep is not being done. It makes me believe the sailors are not trained to the level of what a warship needs. It signifies that the officers and senior NCO’s were promoted beyond their level of competence by 2 or more ranks.

  8. Speaking of DEI/hate, Gen. Charles Q. Brown Jr. is going to be the new CJCS. THAT doesn’t bode well for the troops based on what he’s pushed on the Air Force (hint- It’s NOT being qualified/ready to go to war).
